I grew my own cloud ☁️ - Made of cotton! I wasn’t sure if it would work in the North, but I attribute my success from starting seeds early indoors and then later bringing the plants inside at the end of the growing season when the temperatures dropped. The bolls were able to mature on the stem and eventually the soft white tufts of fluff appeared. It was a fun experiment I’ll continue into this year with all the seeds I harvested ☺️

I’ve never thought cabbages are cute before. But right after I cut the cabbage that I harvested the first time in my life, I just said “ Kawaii〜💓” without thinking. I made fresh cabbage salad which added whitebait, sesame oil, salt and pepper, dried bonito on top. And also made stew with the last piece of handmade smoked ham from my neighbor, turnips, carrots, green onion roots. Seasoned only with salt and pepper.
