In 1972, a scale of measurement was established for alien encounters. When a UFO is sighted, it is called an encounter of the first kind. When evidence is collected, it is known as an encounter of the second kind. When contact is made with extraterrestrials, it is the third kind. The next level, abduction, is the fourth kind. Modern-day, Alaska, where-mysteriously since the 1960s-a disproportionate number of the population has been reported missing every year. Despite multiple FBI investigations of the region, the truth has never been discovered. Here in this remote region, psychologist Dr. Abigail Tyler began videotaping sessions with traumatized patients and unwittingly discovered some of the most disturbing evidence of alien abduction ever documented. The Fourth Kind exposes the terrified revelations of multiple witnesses. Their accounts of being visited by alien figures all share disturbingly identical details, the validity of which is investigated throughout the film. This film gets me excited, which is odd. I’m going to just get the fact right off of my chest, this movie honestly kinda isn’t good. Like the acting is mediocre, the whole alien invasion part doesn’t get me excited outside of “War of the Worlds”, which is obviously an instant classic. But there is something kind of exciting about this movie, maybe it’s the fact that these stories were taken from real therapy sessions and they show real footage from them. Whether it is mental illness or a real depiction of traumatic events, they do a great job of tying it all together and keeping it feeling authentic. However, it still isn’t a great movie. It’s really hard to explain through a caption that I recommend this movie like crazy yet knowingly spitting that is bad. Do what you will with my opinion, but you should watch it. Reorganized the shelves in my room, and set aside a shelf for a permanent dio. I've been wanting to set up the Hazard Squad room sincd I got that Gomez, ao here it is. I was also inspired by SuperActionStuff's recent postings for his upcoming Ultimate Weapons Rack, which reminded me this dio has a similar feature. It displays both the weapons pack that came with this set and the Return of the Baker's Dozen set nicely. I'll be adding to this display as I fiddle with it, but now I have a nice place to set my usual suspects. Today I'll be installing shelf lights, finally. You may recall that I lost this dude's necklace while unpacking him on the couch. I'm typically careful, and I had it lying in the plastic tray while unpacking, but I seem to have forgotten about it while moving things around and dumped it out at some point. I searched all around the couch, the surrounding floor, and in the cracks of the couch. I even kicked up the recliner and took a flashlight under there, but no luck. It's not a particularly tiny piece, and I doubt I overlooked it, so I concluded it probably fell through a deeper part of the couch I couldn't quite reach. I finally got the bug yesterday and flipped the couch over, partially to clean, but mostly to find the necklace. And I was right. It wound up under the center portion of the couch. This gave me a great opportunity for a skit, so here it is. Of course I cleaned the area up before taking photos. Wishing a very happy birthday to a multi - talented and incredibly kind hearted person who has inspired my creative journey for more than 20 years now. @millajovovich I think the initial thing that draws me to Milla is her authenticity, she doesn’t hide behind a mask or put on a front, what you see is what you get and this authenticity reflects in her work, the raw emotion and energy that she pours into her characters. Her music is like poetry, transcending and ethereal, I love to listen to it while I paint. Her modelling career has of course provided me with plenty of inspiration for my paintings. I finally nabbed the #Moai head from the #Figma #TableMuseum series. I've never seen it on sale, and it seems to sell out pretty well, so when I saw it for ten bucks below retail on Amazon, I figured that was enough of a sale to finally buy it. I feel that Figma is one of the priciest import brands out there for 1/12 scale. Anyway, Stu was curious, so he checked it out with Rydgen. Moai turned out to be much shorter than I had expected, but that's okay. Stu says they're the same height, but no. No. I took Goyle and Grotto home weeks ago to join the rest of the crew and haven't decided on a work figure yet, so this guy seemed like a good fill in for that, since I haven't established any tie-ins to my existing figures yet. Dollar Tree doll clothes! This was the only boy set I saw, so I grabbed it. I know it will fit somebody, and if not, I have a figure coming in today that might. This clothing set is likely modeled for Barbie children, which I have also considered buying for Plunderlings, along with Nendoroid and other random doll clothes. The white shirt and jeans are a printed onesie with velcro in the back to slip the figure in. The flannel does not close and just hangs open. My first thought was, of course, Plunderlings. I was concerned that the sleeves and legs may be too narrow, but the legs fit fine, after removing the feet, of course. Sadly, the sleeves of the flannel taper down at the end, so their big arms won't fit. They also seem a tad short for the onesie, which sticks up in the back and makes them look like they're swimming in it. My second thought was Stranger of the Universe, or, from now on, Stu. I was thinking that he'd also be too short for the onesie, but it fit him better tha the Plunderling. Of course his tiny arms slipped easily through the sleeves. His feet surprisingly fit in the shoes, even if they stick out a bit in the back. I showed Chic, and ahe immediately loved him. 🧟‍♀️ L'Antro della Dalia Nera - Abduction 🛸 Buongiorno e buon lunedì, ispidi rettiliani! Oggi consiglio: Il quarto tipo, film del 2009 di Olatunde Osunsanmi detto "O' Romulano". Opera originale del regista, vero esperto in sci-fi, che approderà a Star Trek: Discovery nel 2017. Rilettura in chiave horror della Teoria degli Antichi Astronauti. Un film probabilmente frainteso, con una storia frammentata e una messa in scena a tratti posticcia malgrado i 10 milioni di dollari di budget. Lo stile mockumentary a doppio binario (real e dramatization) non giova alla comprensione, ma le sequenze di "possessione sumera" sanno spaventare davvero. Pur stroncato dalla critica riuscirà ad incassare 48 milioni al botteghino. La Milla Jovovich che non ti aspetti in un personaggio ben interpretato. Curioso, stimolante, ma non del tutto riuscito esperimento con ottime idee alla base: le lingue morte mettono i brividi e rafforzano la sospensione dell'incredulità. Rivalutabile.
