Check it out, it's supplemental material for the panel the other day. As we talked about, streaming kinda sucks for longevity. And with so few physical media sales compared to the old days, you end up with situations like 28 Days Later. A movie that isn't on any streaming service and is out of print on every format (unless you put some work in, and even then chances are it'll be a new old stock reseller at best). 28 Days Later. You know, a little old nothing movie that no one cared about. I mean sure it helped bring in the new era of zombies. Sure it was the first true "mainstream" zombie movie since Romero. The movie gave studios the confidence to let Romero make his final movies. The movie that paved the way for The Walking Dead. You can add "and the DotD remake" to all of those. Oh and it brought Danny Boyle and Cillian Murphy to the mainstream. You know, nobodies. Oh and the sequel helped bring Idris Elba and Jeremy Renner to the mainstream. You know, nobodies. AND they're making another sequel twenty years later. 28 Days Later, a movie with no historical merit or lasting cultural impact apparently, according to the powers that be. Normally, I don't do double feature styled posts. But I guess my mood was to watch both 28 Days and Weeks Later back to back so it works. What can you say about 28 Days Later that hasn't already been said. It's a horror classic! Whether you think it's a zombie movie or not, it changed the landscape of horror and you've got to respect that aspect. It's so well directed, the acting is great, and it's not tol clean or too grimy for its own good. 28 Weeks Later has some standout moments, particularly that first 5 minutes at the cottage. Once you get to the military stuff, how these guys couldn't contain a virus they were trained to handle? Well, 28 Years Later better do some explaining. But at least the characters are likable, and when the gore is practical it looks good. But my main gripe that isn't the CGI? The shakeycam. I have no problem with zombie action, but I want to see it. In general though, if you're a horror fan and haven't seen these movies? Go do your homework. The original is a classic. But Weeks has it's merit too! Also added bonus, buy your favorite movies or albums. 28 Days Later, at the time of this posting, is not available anywhere. To buy on Blu-Ray or to stream and that is bullshit to not have access to a classic movie be widely available for people to watch. Which is why I do this, to show off my collection and maybe get someone to watch the movie or listen to the album. If you can get your hands on this for a good price? 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later🧟♂️🩸Watched both of these movies for the first time with my girlfriend this weekend. I thought the story lines for both were really great, along with the soundtrack! Yeah we could watch 28 Weeks Later on Hulu and other streaming services, but you can’t do that for 28 Days Later. Sure you can find it on different movie sites, but you can’t find it on any legitimate streaming platform. Another reason why physical media is king. So I ordered both DVDs off eBay. I’ve seen people on here post the VHS for 28 Days Later for sale a few times, but it always gets scooped up right away🦠 Definitely some great zombie movies!
