New review is liveeeee 🫶🏻 Review is in the caption and comments below, as well as the link in my bio☺️ Review: Part 1/2 (Part 2 is in the comments below) ***May contain spoilers*** ***Scroll to the bottom for my rating*** First, I would like to begin this review by saying thank you to @sunnybabrpr and S. Trout for my copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Forbidden Fruit by S. Trout is a steamy, insta-lust, fast-paced debut. It features a 16-year age gap relationship between a student and professor, a lot of spice, and an overprotective MMC. If you enjoy those tropes, this is likely a read for you. I went into this book excited and looking forward to the tropes presented. In the early pages, I was laughing and joyful, reminiscent of life as a college student. It made me miss my roommate and the antics we shared when living together. I actually sent her a voice memo laughing about particular parts of the book and the memories they brought up because it really took me back. But it quickly turned into an “if college had been a more depraved experience,” it may have been more like this book situation. This is fine since I am a big “to each their own” advocate, but it still removed a decent amount of the relatability I was finding in the beginning. And it wasn’t even that depraved; it was just all too easy and fast-paced. I am familiar with books that showcase insta love and how fast those stories tend to pan out, but with so much on the line for both characters, especially DeLuca, I feel that there would have been a bigger attempt at trying to avoid temptation. With DeLuca’s past involving a student setting him back in his professional career, you’d think he’d take every step possible to be more conscious about his actions or at least more discreet about them. On top of that, you’d think there would be way more pushback from Olivia’s father, the Dean, when finding out the nature of their interest and relationship. Yet, he practically just gives it the green light and moves on.

Christian/Relationship: Boundaries by Henry Cloud and John Townsend Rating: ❤️❤️❤️/5 Review: I was so excited about this book. I'm a sucker for a book about boundaries. However, I don't think I read enough into it to know what I was getting. I do feel like this book offered some valid information about creating boundaries. I feel like the best part of the book was the Boundary Conflict section. This is when the information got a lot more actionable. Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed in the lack of research-based information. They referred to some psychological theories, like learned helplessness and attachment theory, but never mentioned any studies, journals, or experiments, which i expected, since they are both clinical psychologists. The only references used in this book were to their own previously published books or the Bible. I knew it was going to be a Christian book, but the amount of Bible verses mentioned seemed excessive and forced for the subject matter. I just wish it would have had a balance of research and faith. 2024.4.21 (Sun) #londonmarathon2024 #ロンドンマラソン2024 #abbotworldmarathonmajors #3stars #6大メジャーマラソン #３つ目 ベルリン、東京に続き、３つ目の6大メジャーマラソン、 ロンドンマラソン🇬🇧走って来ました！！ 3月の東京マラソンでサブ4にあと6分。 海外レースで合わせるの難しいけど サブ4できたらなって思ってましたが… 結果、撃沈しました😂 今回5回目のフルマラソン。毎回少しづつPB更新して来ましたが… 更新できず。 今までで1番キツくて辛いレース🥲 景色も応援もとっても凄くてテンションMAX。 ハーフまではサブ4ペースで順調だったけど、 徐々にペースが落ち始め、目立たない給水ポイントで給水しばらく取り損ねたりして多分脱水状態に。 身体に全然力が入らなくなり、頭もボーッとしてきて、 気がついたら歩いてる状態が数回… 自分でも何が起こったのかよく分からず🥲 後半はテンション高い応援も遠くで聞こえ、せっかくのロンドンの景色も楽しめず、ロンドンまで来て完走しないわけには行かないと、もう時計も見ずにひたすら前に進みました😂 タイムは4:16:49。 後半はあまり記憶にない…😂 こんな事なら、はじめからファンランにすれば良かった〜🤣って思ったけど後の祭り😅 ２日くらい、気持ちの整理が付かず、凹んでたけど、 思い切り観光を楽しみ、ロンドン在住のウチのブランドの社長のお宅に居候して、今回滞在10日間、思う存分ロンドンを満喫しました🇬🇧笑 マラソンは何が起こるか分からないから面白い！！ って言われて、直後は面白いなんて全く思えなかったけど、わざわざロンドンまで来て、何やってるんだろ😕 って思ったら笑えてきて🤣笑 この2ヶ月、練習も頑張って、仕事や他の予定もパンパン。サブ4できてない。したい。 って事にこだわって気持ちに余裕がなかったのかも🥲 楽しむ事が1番☝️ でもやっぱり速く走りたいんだよね〜笑 そしてまた懲りずに結局次の海外レースの事、考えてる🤭 これがマラソンの魔力なんだろう🪄笑 次はトレイル、#奥信濃50k 今年は海外のトレランレースにも挑戦する予定🫡 少し休んで落ち着いたら、 また次のレースに向けて頑張ろう✨笑 応援していただいた方、ありがとうございました🙏 #今帰ってます✈︎ #あと5時間ぐらい #ゴール直後は車椅子🤣 #その直後 #Pic2 #顔死んでるw #pic4 #好き❤️笑 #海外レースは色々ある #スマホ盗難事件 #レースの前の日 #メンタルやられた笑 #サブ携帯でまだ良かった

However, this book is closer to Literary Fiction and there was not really any magic in it at all, but that didn’t take away from the story. He almost has a personality of his own. I want a 250 lbs English Mastiff now. I also loved the the characters in this little town. They were a little family, and I am a sucker for a found family trope. I liked this book for everything, but the mystery aspect. It felt kind of cheesy and predictable. I like my mysteries to keep me on my toes and have some twists, but it was pretty straight forward. It was like a lazy river kind of mystery. YOURS TRULY 🥹☺️🥰 In this next installation of the Part of Your World Universe by Abby Jimenez we follow Brianna and Jacob in their fake dating to real dating saga. Both of our leads are Physicians at their local hospital and use each other to move forward in life after a few less than favorable events. This book was so cute and could be read as a stand alone if needed. Brianna and Jacob truly completed one another and found their happily ever after in one another. Some themes included are social anxiety, depression, divorce, infidelity, pen pals, organ donation and taking risks to find happiness even when it’s hard. Swift and Saddled review: 🤠🤠🤠 Ada and Wes are a cute small town romance couple. The author touches on domestic violence and emotional control. Wes is a golden retriever man who lives life but also talks about his fight with depression. It was a well rounded book. It was very fast paced and didn't slow down. Finished The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes yesterday. 96 of 100 books in my challenge done. . This read was a collections of short stories about Sherlock Holmes. They were interesting to try and figure out before Holmes started spewing his magical powers of deduction all over the place. Here it is, the long awaited Powerless review! I gave this one 3,75☆ If I had to do this in one sentence it would be: I wanted to like it more. I say this with still a lot of positive points about this book. My troubles with this one I already mostly talked about in my previous post, so I won't repeat it all. I missed some more action and fantasy elements. It resembled the hunger games a little too much at times (mostly the first half). The thing that made me not like this one as much was my connection with the story for some reason. I'm very much an expressive reader who reacts quite a lot with books and it did not happen with Powerless, I felt like I often did not care that much or that most things didn't really shock me because I kind of had seen them coming. I also found myself skimming quite a lot and only reading dialogue. Okay! Now some positives🫶🏻 I really liked the characters and wanted to know more about a lot of them. The moments between some characters were really heartwarming to me. I liked the ending a lot more and if the book had been a little more like that throughout I might have liked it more. I am very excited about the second book!!! Also it has so many good tropes. FIRST BOOK REVIEW!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Personally I’m giving this book 3/5 ⭐️. I picked this one up to try and branch out from the normal genres I read and it took me a while to get through (granted exam season is coming up ✏️) I thought that the storyline was interesting but it was a bit of a slow build as the first book is more about the characters meeting and building a team rather than the adventure itself. Each chapter was from a different characters’ perspective and I did favour some more than others, but I did enjoy seeing the story from different angles. 📚review time! Book club pick for April!📚 • Living in Milwaukee, working an entry-level corporate job, Sneha is one of the fortunate ones. While the job might be terrible, she can pick up the tab, get her friend a job and send money to her parents in India. It can't stay perfect for long. • I wasn't too sure about this book at the beginning. The lack of quotation marks really gets me, and makes it harder for me to read it. Really good, Actually. There were time when I didn’t want to keep reading, there were time when I laughed, and cringed. This character was chaotic most of the time.
