Completed an order tonight for a smoke cleansing bundle. Smoke cleansing is common across many cultures throughout the world and a practice I highly encourage for everyone regardless of your spiritual path. Unfortunately due to the rise of commercial spiritualism, what has always been a CLOSED practice for INDIGENOUS PEOPLE ONLY has now become a dangerous trend. Yes, I’m talking about white sage. To keep up with capitalist demands, white sage has become over harvested and is in danger of being unavailable for the communities it is actually native to, which is actually only a small region in the western states. Furthermore, for white sage to be used for spiritual purposes there are very specific protocols used during harvest which are just as much part of your cleansing as the actual burning of the plant. These protocols are not followed when you order from Amazon, Etsy, etc. So you’re ultimately defeating your entire purpose of cleansing. I encourage you to find out if and what your ancestors burned for cleansing. Unless you are a descendant of Indigenous North American people, it likely wasn’t white sage.

I’ve been holding my breath for the last few weeks and I can finally exhale (just a little) 😮💨 I have officially made it further this pregnancy than I did my last 🎉 With Ty I was hospitalized at 28ish weeks with severe preeclampsia and he was born just a couple weeks later. This time I’m skating by (shakily lol) with no hospitalizations and still on track for my delivery day! It’s a little victory but one I hold super close because this shit isn’t easy 🥹 Mama is tired, fingers sore from 4 pricks a day, my hips and back hurt ALL DAY and Lord this baby knows how to burrow into my pelvis. This popped up in my memories on google photos. I knew it would be our last family picture together. I just thought I was crazy. I thought I was imagining things. I thought that if I could bargain with God that things would turn out differently, ma. I bought my Pentax camera and told myself I was going to make memories. I told myself I was going to live in the moment …but that was hard. I turned a blind eye to it. It was just much to deal with at 21 and for that I’m sorry. If I could get time back, I would have soaked up as many moments as I could have with you, ma. Both of yall, really. Although, you’d be much older now, I really wish that you were still here at times. Daddy too. So life, as I knew it then …and even now would feel normal again. What I didn’t realize with yall mama and daddy, I realize now w the twins. I promise to cherish every second with them and be purposeful about making memories with them.
