When responding to God's call/ prompt/nudge on our lives, our temptation is to run away like Jonah and/or find an excuse for why we needn't obey. Be confident of this: God can use anyone, at anytime in any way! If He has called you to go the extra mile to restore a relationship - If He has called to roll up your sleeves and get involved in service - If He has called you to make time to for others - embrace His call without excuse and see what the Lord might do with a willing servant like you. If not...why not? Which one of these truths have you failed to accept? Perhaps you have too high of a view of yourself, and you personally don’t think you deserve hell on your best day. Perhaps you feel that you’ve done a lot of good in your life to the extent that God will have no choice but to acknowledge that you’ve been a good person who deserves heaven. Perhaps you have taken God’s grace for granted, as though it cost God nothing to dismiss your sins and welcome you into His presence. Take a moment and be honest about your heart. If any one of these three truths is missing, you have yet to grasp the life-changing power of God’s infinite grace that rescues souls from the despair of Sheol. You may be proudly religious, or you may be completely self-absorbed with little concern about facing God when you breathe your last. God delivered Jonah even though it was his own fault that he was in that situation. God is always looking to deliver us. His eyes run throughout the earth looking to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is perfect towards him (II Chronicles 16:9). If God can hear a man in the middle of the sea in the belly of a fish, surely, He hears us. In den letzten Minuten macht Maddox dann nach einem Freistoß den Deckel rauf. Am Ende geht das Spiel, auch wegen einer guten Abwehrarbeit und dank unserem Torwart, 3:1 aus. A few weeks ago, I was given permission to use the gifts that God has given me in one of our kids rooms at church. I think it turned out really well and am super excited to paint more. My favorite picture taken is the one of the boy clearly enjoying the mural. That just makes my heart happy! Meanwhile, I learned that I don’t like to finish a project because then it’s over… LOL. He promised when it is seaworthy he would sail up to Strangford Lough and we would have, what we call in Ireland, a ‘shindig’ aboard! Can’t wait! The little yacht docked safely in serene waters, might soon sail the reckless ocean, battered by winds and raging waves, the vessel and its occupants would be tested. It’s much like our faith that is tested when fierce trials press us, unrelenting. Jonah 2: “I called out to the Lord, out of my distress, and he answered me; out of the belly of Sheol I cried, and you heard my voice. For you cast me into the deep, into the heart of the seas, and the flood surrounded me; all your waves and your billows passed over me. The waters closed in over me to take my life; the deep surrounded me; weeds were wrapped about my head at the roots of the mountains.” The chapter ends with hopeful faith when Jonah shouts “SALVATION BELONGS TO THE LORD!” Words that fuel life inside darkness are words that I would very much like to, and need to be singing. This title has been turning over in my thoughts for months now. I’m currently working on a simple vocal piano recording, lead sheet and rhythm score. I’ve just finished memorising Jonah two and I’m on a final draft of lyrics. Who is Jonah? Jonah was a prophet who reminded God’s people that God’s covenant also promised blessings through Israel to the nations. Called to preach repentance to Nineveh, the great city of the Assyrian empire, Jonah famously disobeyed and went the other direction. Swallowed by a great fish, Jonah cried out to God who saved him. Ironically, when Jonah goes to Nineveh, he only announces God’s judgment. Despite his bad preaching, God uses it to bring about a period of social reform in Nineveh. My favorite week teaching the children about Jonah and the Whale 🐳 They love this lesson planning I did with them each day! 🐳 Who did, Who did, Who did shallow Jo Jo Jo. Whale shallow Jonah. Whale shallow Jonah. Down. They did their OWN whale in the ocean with all of the wonderful materials. Small whale draw with blue crayon. 🐳 🖍️ Buttons were STARFISH Sand was sand Blue Paintbrush 🖌️ and blue crayon for the waves 🌊 Popsicles Sticks and Pipecleaners were SEAWEED One Yellow Paint Dot for the SUN Yellow crayons for the lines around the SUN Marbles were GEM in the ocean 🌊 Orange Crayon were the FISH 🐟 We talked about how Jonah disobeyed God and he went on a ship to hide and went overboard and the whale 🐳 shallow him. He was praying out to the Lord and prayed for three days and God heard him. Regretting you by Colleen Hoover Genre: Second chance love, mother-daughter relationship, domestic fiction, contemporary Trigger warning: Abandonement, Death, Grief, Infidelity, Depression My Thoughts: This is the kind of novel which Netflix should adapt in mini-series! There i said it! Like always, CoHo did it again, i mean why she always make me teary-eyes in the end, like always? This novel has a different story than her other novels. It is focuses on relationship between mother and daughter. It was emotional rollar-coaster kinda story. I loved Morgan as a sister and as a mother, the way she was protecting her daughter from emotional stress was amazing even when it made Morgan evil in Clara’s eyes and I absolutely hate how Clara behaved in some situation, though her anger was justified but still wanted to slap her but i guess all teenagers are rebellious when they are of Clara’s age so let it pass 🤷🏻♀️ Love all the misunderstanding and the drama was on point. This novel was such-a page turner. I’m not gonna talk about the story because of spoilers but while reading this book made me feel like excited, angry, sad, and also made me laugh (specially when Clara was grounded from even reading books 😂 that was savage of you Morgan). I really Loved Jonah although he was nowhere like CoHo’s other novel’s heroes but he was good man. I really liked him, i wish there was much more of him. The way he was with Elijah, i really loved him for that 💓 Clara was a good kid although she made me pissed off with some of her actions and how she treated Miller at one point because of her anger, but thanks to Miller, He handled it very well. Miller won my heart with little video, i wish someone make such video for me and ask me for prom though i have crossed my age for prom but whatsoever 🥺 Gramps? He was adorable, totally love the banter between him and Miller!
