5 Day Countdown 🔥🍓 Did you know that we all carry suppressed anger and rage? Think about it. Look at our world, doesn’t it make sense that we would have anger? And isn’t it fascinating how much we’ve been CONDITIONED to suppress it? Especially women. I heard the most beautiful definition of anger from one of my teachers, Ihsan Abbas @eyes__in__ where he said, “Anger is the fire illuminating a perceived injustice. Telling you there is an imbalance. Anger is the mask of grief, you are feeling the grief of an injustice.” I’ll be sharing more about what I’ve learned from Ihsan on anger, and how much it’s liberated me from a lot of shame. Today is about making FRIENDS with that anger and allowing SPACE for that anger. When I started to practice becoming friends with my anger, and I started using my voice, setting boundaries, saying no, and permitting myself to disagree, I was TERRIFIED. I was afraid I’d lose people in my life….and guess what? I did. It broke my heart. 💔 I grieved. I still grieve. I’ve been doing some big things at the gym lately: but mostly, for my @theartofmuscleperformance artists. We design programs, coach nutrition, meet for family events at the gym, and everyday, discuss how we can be just once choice healthier than before. It’s a labor of love and I enjoy every second. On the other hand, I’m on a mission of my own. The most important element of any fitness coach is this: you must live the lifestyle if you want to coach it. That’s non-negotiable. Like these videos show, I’ve developed so much in my chest and back area, that I feel confident in everything I do, regardless of whether it’s new to my program. I still struggle with shoulders: so much! I also had to spend a long time unlearning bad core technique I picked up from years of “trying to do it on my own,” the fast-paced/bad form element of group fitness, and the days I spent focusing on marathon running. I had little core connection. After years and years of daily bodybuilding vacuums, I’ve finally got the strength and mind-muscle connection to truly build my abdominal muscles. I am so exited. At 42 years old, who would have thought? 2024’s mission: Cap the Shoulders/ Build the Abs It took me years of building the essentials before I could truly target specific growth areas. Now, it’s time to fine-tune this sculpture. The light in a dark world. The hope and faith in all that is good in this world. The shift and work to focus where the light is rather than where the dark lies.These are what connect me to my spirituality, Jesus, and my faith. Just as an eclipse turns an afternoon sky to darkness, so can our minds go to that state in seconds. Just as a stormy sky can give way to sunbeams and rainbows, so can our mind body and souls if we allow them to let go. Faith can be applied to anyone, anywhere regardless of our religion, spirituality, or what we connect to beyond ourselves. Faith is simply the believe that light and darkness exist. It's having faith that by living a simple, authentic and forgiving life you too can receive those things in return. Let today be your reminder that we are all deeply flawed humans. It's the thing we have in common. No mistake you've made is less than or more than your neighbor. That who you love is not an open invitation for judgement of yourself or others. That who you vote for doesn't make you right or wrong. We are not perfect, and we never will be. You can not go through life and get it all right, and neither can the mother you judge, the homeless person you scoff off, or the person who voted for the other side on Election Day. Love, live, forgive, and be in constant work on YOURSELF. When we cast judgement on others, what we are really saying is "I'm too afraid to look in the mirror and work in my own flaws" Forgiveness, simplicity, authenticity and no judgement...That's Jesus, so whatever this day means to you I hope even that simple takeaway leads you somewhere. Over time, the effort required to maintain these masks can be emotionally draining and may hinder genuine connections with others. It’s essential to recognize when and why we wear them and only then can we become more conscious of our tendency to do so. The cycle is viscous and forces me to dig deep within my soul to emerge victorious in my battle with fear and my trauma. Who am I? I'm a phoenix who rises from the ashes every single time life burns me to the ground. A women who has put herself back together piece by piece in ways some will never understand. I'm a warrior, a wife, a daughter, a mother, and friend. I am a healer and mender of the broken souls who like me are putting their pieces back together too. I will never fear living again. Fear can kiss my ass, it can visit from the shadows all it wants, but it will never make me question my worthiness to be seen. To take up space. De buren noemen dit een ‘Pommier du Japon” maar volgens het Google orakel is het een ‘Cognassier du Japon.’ In het Engels vind ik de naam ‘Maule’s Quince’ of ‘Japanese Quince.’ Een Japanse Kweepeer dus. Voor het eerst in jaren bloeit hij weer, een beetje. Ieder jaar komt er namelijk een gek met een grote groffe snoeimachine langs die alle heggen kortwiekt, zelf mijn heg die aan het einde van een doodlopend weggetje ligt en die ik zelf bijhoud. De Japanse Kweepeer groeit aan de voet van een massieve eikenboom die langzaam aan het sterven is, maar een paradijs is voor allerlei soorten insecten en vogeltjes.
