In the central reservation of Park Lane is an unusual memorial to animals in war. Most drivers likely pass it by without a second glance. It was unveiled by Princess Anne in November 2004 on the 90th anniversary of the start of World War I. In our high tech world it's hard to imagine how significant a role animals played in earlier campaigns, from horses to camels, mules to pigeons. We're in London for a few days and this afternoon we took a stroll around this lovely hidden treasure -tucked away beside the River Thames, Chelsea Physic Garden is one of the oldest botanical gardens in Britain. It has a unique collection of around 5000 different edible, useful, medicinal and historic plants but it also boasts a grade 2 listed rockery! *** Lane 7 London *** ᴀᴅ| Whilst down in London over the weekend, me and my friends visited @lane7_ With so much to do under one roof, it is the perfect place to go for a night of fun. The whole retro vibe mixed with the fantastic atmosphere, made it a great night. We enjoyed a game of mini golf first which was one of the quirkiest mini golf courses I have ever played on. With two 9 hole courses, each with different set ups, including my favourite hole which was a lasered hole where you had to putt your ball without hitting the lasers… pretty cool! Following this, we went bowling and their lanes are quirky and sleek, making it even more fun. They also have, beer pong, interactive darts, a cool arcades section (for adults only 👀), a photo booth and of course plenty of food and drinks selections. There is honestly so much to do here and we had such a good night, I would definitely recommend going in London (Or we also have one in Newcastle). You can go as a family until 7pm then it turns into an over 18s venue. Also, those shoes o’ mine are platform ankle-high @ugg and I cannot recommend them more highly. I walked all over #London with them, worked a production shoot in them and they were as or MORE comfortable than tennies! But they give you height and have a funky boot vibe. Spent the afternoon exploring HMS Belfast, the former Royal Navy cruiser, now a museum ship moored between Tower and London Bridges. You can go right down into the bowels of the boat, below the water line to see the boiler room and the engine room. I've never seen so many pipes, boilers and dials...or ladders! The shells (first pic) have their own room. The crew's living quarters are fascinating - with 1,000 men on board, there was a sick bay and even a dentist surgery. And the galley has a huge array of ovens etc which were used to keep them all fed. •CURCHILL’S WAR ROOMS, LONDON, ENGLAND•🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 En intressant plats att besöka i London, om man är intresserad av historia och i synnerhet Andra Världskriget, är Churchill’s War Rooms, vid Whitehall. Härifrån styrde dock Churchill och hans stab krigsföringen, med toppmoderna telefoner, rum för radiosändningar, enorma kartor, telefonister, och det fanns kök, många små enkla sovrum och flera mötesrum för ministrarna. Hela det så kallade ’Cabinet War Rooms’ användes dygnet runt under kriget, från den 27 augusti 1939 fram till den 16 augusti 1945. Först 1984 öppnades den här undre världen för allmänheten och sedan några år finns här också ett särskilt museum om Winston Churchill (som ingår i entrén). Det är verkligen en tidskapsel som lämnats till världen från en viktig tid av vår historia. Det är både fascinerande och intressant att lyssna till de inspelade intervjuer som finns av de som arbetade för och hur det var för dom att tillbringa så mycket tid i denna underjordiska värld. (Det fanns t ex sollampor så att de skulle få ”solljus” på sig!) Ha gott om tid, för det finns mycket att se på! BILD 1, 4, 5, 6 🤭: Brick Lane aka @bricklanebshop .so unfassbar cute dass ich dort natürlich auch etwas mitnehmen musste (mehr dazu bald ;) ) Wenn ihr da seid, geht unbedingt in die Straße bzw. dass viertel, es ist einfach ein richtiger Vibe und es gibt viel zu entdecken. ☀️📚🙏😊 BILD 2, na ja, ich denke wir alle dürften ihn kennen, auch wenn natürlich nicht alle bisher in london waren- Big Ben. Tatsächlich sehr teuer, aber von der U-Bahn gut zu bestaunen. 🚉 Und in BILD 3 tatsächlich erstaunlicherweise ein bisschen Kultur in der @tatemodern_london von @yokoono . 🖼️ If you might Reading it, it was so impressive (obwohl ich mich eigentlich als Kunstbanause zähle😅 ) . Jedenfalls durften alle Zuschauer*innen den Raum mithilfe von Stiften nach Belieben entscheiden. 👍 Was ich hiermit aber auch sagen möchte: London ist toll, verreisen ist toll.
