I'm still on a high following an incredible weekend with my #harriertrailblazers team mates in Wiltshire 🤩. Thank you to @harrier_trail_running, @sarahriandet, @running.with.mj, and our coach @rfmcoaching for making it all possible. It was nurturing to find myself amongst a group of such strong women, each with their own story of overcoming barriers and adversity. I am often a lone exerciser, happily peddaling or plodding away on Zwift from the safety of my little Cornish cottage, so it felt extra special (and more than a little scary) to take my shoddy eyesight and 'dicky ticker' out into the real world in the company of others. They couldn't have been kinder and more accommodating 😃. After years of pursuing (and achieving) the Ironman triathlon dream, I declared that 2024 was going to be one for embracing new experiences and getting out of my comfort zone. REVIEW: Bride by Ali Hazelwood 🧛‍♀️🪢🐺 Happy Monday! As most of you know, one of my biggest book goals for 2024 is to diversify my reading and try other genres. I feel like I am absolutely crushing that goal so far by reading some things *very* out of my comfort zone. I’m pretty proud or myself! Bride is just another example of a book that I never thought I would read and actually like. I was going to skip this one when I heard the premise, but because Ali Hazelwood wrote it, I decided to give it a try. I was surprised that I actually liked it more than I thought! Reading vibes: 🪢 forced proximity x marriage of convenience with some elements of forbidden love 🪢 vampire fmc & wolf mmc 🪢 she falls first 🪢 dysfunctional family dynamics 🪢 LOTS of steam 🔥🔥🔥 like we’re talking right up to the end! Hello, what's going on with all of you this week? I hope it's been a good week for you all. I had a very good week. We had a company movie night, and yesterday I went to a cat cafe with my friends. In addition, I received an invitation to international dinner, so I spent my Saturday evening dining and playing board games with friends and new acquaintances alike. 😄 The book I'm holding in the picture is Stitched Up by Joanne O'connell. I read so much fiction that I always remind myself when reading memoirs that this was someone’s real life. I found myself frustrated with some of the decisions Lally made but I can understand why she made them. When she found someone who filled that void, she didn’t let go. It was an unexpectedly emotional story. Pushing myself out of my comfort zone… Last week we tried a new messy play group in the next village and Anna loved it! I have to say, something like this is really out of my comfort zone. I never got the opportunity to do things like this with Eve at this age because of lockdown, then grieving. It was so lovely to watch her play and enjoy herself. “Stop Stopping Yourself” Decided to take a step further out of my comfort zone. Which was to attend a Saturday group class because I knew it’d definitely be more crowded than the Thursday morning class. I did not read any description of the class and made my own assumption of what I’d be doing…which was more of a yoga/pilates/barre type deal. I was so beyond wrong and instead showed up for some cardio based dancing (and then barre). • duurloop op koningsdag 👑🧡🇳🇱 Voor de gelegenheid maar iets oranjes aangetrokken. 🧡 Gisteren avond zelf nog een tempo training gedaan waar mijn benen en koppie er geen zin in hadden 🥵 maar uiteindelijk doorgezet en toch de training voldaan. 🔥 Vandaag gezellig met de groep op pad 9km rustige duurloop op het schema, maar het werden er uiteindelijk 11km. 🤗 ik was erg benieuwd hoe mijn benen en lichaam zou voelen na gisteravond. Last night I did something waaaay out of my comfort zone. I went to a networking event. By myself!....I used to do this all the time but I haven’t been to one since before the pandemic. I was nervous that I’d be by myself in a corner 😂 Luckily, Candice at @loveissweetevents knows how to throw an amazing party (of course!) And I ended up having a great time. I made saw old friends and make new ones in the line to have my tarot reading done by @therootcauseyoga (the reading went deep by the way). I felt super lucky when I won an adorable martini shaker set from @la.speakeasy. We were hanging at the wonderful venue @409woodbury And to top it off I got this new headshot from Andy.
