If there's something I've noticed since I started to take my workouts seriously—more than I used to; is that accomplishing goals give some kind of adrenaline rush that is coated with an exhilarating satisfaction. ☺️☺️ In other words, accomplishments of goals are great! So, on that note, I would like to make sure that everybody is setting goals and aiming for them? Don't sweat it, you've got this! 💪🏻💪🏻 A point to note though, never be hard on yourself, "one step at a time, creates a smooth space for your success." You know what? I'm done! I'm so done with all this shit! I need to end of this because no one really cares about me, and I will not be missed. "I will kill myself today!" HOLD UP! HOLD UP!! HOLD UP!!! Now, that's what people say when they are under the pressures of life, and nothing seems to be going on great in their life. There are some things about losing that you may need to know. Well, I guess I should release my book on the blueprint for failure. In all, I am trying to tell you that no matter what you are going through, it is never an option to end your life So, please, talk to someone today. My DMs are always open, please, send a message #suicidepreventionday On a lighter note, after looking at my previous captions and saw how inspiring I can be, thank you very much, I thought to put in my "cloak of inspiration," and write something great for you guys. Guess what? I have nothing! But that's okay. Do you know why it is okay? It is okay not to know some things, it is also okay to not know what to do next, when you really should. Things happen, but it's okay. L You know what's not okay, not making an effort to know, and understand when to tap yourself on the back and "relax to get back!" So, make the little, deserving effort to know, either by asking questions, researching or reading more, as it all goes a long way. I trust that you're doing great today, and surely having a good day, because mine is going well 🥰🥰😘 Today, I want to tell you some tips that can help you get through some unavoidable storms when sailing in the seas of your respective professions. In as much as these tips are general, it will, however, help you greatly if you're a professional in the nursing or medical field. So, don't feel left out if you're not in the nursing/medical field; this is for you too. 🙂 Have I succeeded in piquing your interest or curiousity? If I have, keep reading for the tips 😘 1. Know why you are there. It is very important that you take your time to ask yourself why you will want to join that profession. Could it be because my friends are doing it or because I like it? There must be a "solid" reason for entering a career path before going head on. So, take the time to think deeply about why you want to start the journey. 2. Go in with passion Passion is so important. Having the passion for your choice of profession is very key because trust me, it keeps you going. 💪🏻 3. Plan your time Your time is worth every second. But the question is, "how do I manage my time in my chosen field? Well, you can start by having a To-do list, because it goes a long way in helping you get things done and managing your time well. In lay terms, it helps you plan and prioritize your work. 4. Eat healthy As a healthy foodie and a strong advocate of the healthy and fit lifestyle, I have always found it to be important to eat healthy. You can never go wrong with this tip because it keeps you smart and mentally alert. 5. Ask questions and interact with your colleagues. Asking questions doesn't mean you are dumb, it means you have the hunger for knowledge, and by asking, you will get to know more. Busy, busy, busy all the time all through the year. That's a good thing right? Now, you would ask me, do I expect to get an answer from you? Well.... Yeah, that's why there's a comment section Anyways, back to the post. I decided to ramble about a few things but something I caught while reading decided to flow spread on the screens from my fingers. It is not only though - the feelings of being overwhelmed. So the main question would be, have you ever been overwhelmed? Have you ever wished for something so bad and when they come, you get overwhelmed by it? I am referring to that deep feeling of tiredness that wants to caress and embrace you fluffed up like a giant- size teddy bear, or that you're doing too much and the odd wish of "please take it all back!" These all come flashing through your mind's eye like Netflix, and then it says chill, you don't need this anymore. Well, times like that happen. In fact, all the time. So what do you do in times like this that everything is "tiring" and "too much" for you to handle? It's simple, REST. Resting doesn't mean giving up, it doesn't mean you are weak or anything related to that. This means you know you are ready for your BIG BREAK and you don't want to break down before getting there. So, work hard and smart. Know when to take it easy on yourself and you will be fine!❤ On the low let's not set our eyes away from the fact that this is a damn good picture

Hello, friends! I hope you're having a wonderful new month and a fabulous new week! 🎉 You may remember that I wanted to share my medical journey with you, but I've been a bit busy with school lately 😩😭. It's not easy to pursue the good things in life, is it? Why can’t we just have them handed to us on a silver platter? 🤔 Sometimes, I just wish we could just snap our fingers and get what we want. 🤔 But let's not dwell on the negative. Let me share with you one of the things that brightens up my day in this challenging journey of becoming a doctor: my amazing classmates! 😍 I'm currently doing my rotation in medicine, and it's quite tough 😔. But the highlight of it is my GROUP MEMBERS. They make coming to school a blast, whether it's by cracking jokes about how someone bombed in front of the consultant or by offering words of support when we're feeling down. They are my lifeline and my buddies, and I'm so thankful for them. 🙏 So, that’s a little update from me. I hope you enjoyed it. And I promise to be more consistent with posting my journey here. Standing here, adorned in this symbolic white coat, my heart is overflowing with immense gratitude and joy as I share this milestone in my medical journey—the white coat ceremony—a beautiful culmination of countless hours of dedication, perseverance, and unwavering passion. A few days ago, I marked a milestone in my journey to becoming a doctor. This moment marks my transition into the clinical stage of my medical degree. With every fabric thread of this coat, I feel the weight of responsibility and privilege intertwine as I prepare to embark on a path dedicated to healing, compassion, and serving others. It represents the trust and faith people will place in me, their hopes and vulnerabilities intertwined in the fibres. This ceremony is not merely a celebration of my personal achievements but a recognition of the remarkable community that has supported me every step of the way. To my family, friends, and all who believed in me, I owe you an immeasurable debt of gratitude. Your unwavering support has been my guiding light, empowering me to strive for excellence and fueling my determination to make a difference. 🔥 Igniting Knowledge, Protecting Lives! My clinical orientation has come to a blazing finale, leaving me with an exhilarating mix of education and adventure. What if I told you I learned how to fight fire, save lives and resist drugs in one week? Sounds unbelievable, right? But that’s precisely what happened during my clinical orientation. It was a thrilling and enlightening experience that I will never forget. On the last day of the orientation, we had three amazing sessions with different experts. First, we had the Oyo state fire emergency service teach us everything about fire: how it starts, how it spreads, how to prevent it and how to put it out. We even got to practice with real fire extinguishers! The only downside was the scorching sun that made me feel like I was on fire, too 😩. But hey! I also stopped fire! Remarkable, I tell you! 😎😎 Next, we had the Federal Road Safety Corps educate us on road traffic accidents, victims and hospital services. They showed us how to handle different scenarios and what to do in an emergency. They also stressed the importance of using seatbelts and following traffic rules. It was a very eye-opening session that made me appreciate the work they do. Finally, we had the PRO of the Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency warn us about the dangers of drug abuse and addiction. He shared some shocking stories and statistics that made me realize how serious this problem is. He also gave us some tips on how to avoid drugs and help others who are struggling with them. He ended his talk with a powerful message: DON’T DO DRUGS!!! It’s not worth it at all. As you can see, my clinical orientation was more than just a training program. It was a life-changing adventure that prepared me for the real work of the clinical phase. I’m so grateful for this opportunity, and I can’t wait to start my journey in the clinical phase. I so love it already!❤❤

The nurses week recently ended and I hope you all had a really good time with the celebrations, just as I did, reminiscing of my days in the long halls of the hospital wards taking care of "our extended families"? Well, I know you did! It's the week we get to blow our trumpets ourselves, and celebrate our infinite awesomeness 😘😘. Today, being the 17th of May, is WORLD HYPERTENSION DAY. ❤️ A question pops to mind every May 17th, and it is; do you take care of your heart as great as you should? Keeping our hearts healthy it is a very important organ in the cardiovascular system 😊 Now let me ask you some few questions. 1. How well do you value your health? Now, a lot of people (including myself at a time) think that I love my body, I eat "good" food, sleep well, but I must implore you, it goes beyond that. So here are a few questions to keep you in check. . . 2. How well do you know your health history? . . 3. How well do you know your family health history? . . 4. Have you undergone any form of basic medical checkup lately or ever?🩺 . . 5. Do you know what your normal blood pressure level is? . . 6. The pain you feel in your chest/heart, have you spoken to someone (a professional) about it? . . 7. When was the last time you checked your blood pressure? 🌡️ . . 8. How healthy is your food intake? . . 9. Do you take enough water daily, or do you prefer soft drinks? . . 10. How "active" are you? Hello, my beautiful people of Instagram, I am sure your weekend went well. Hope you all had an amazing weekend. As for me, let me take you on a little journey to Sunday night—it was nothing short of magical. Picture this: heavy rain pouring outside, a symphony of droplets dancing on my windowpane, and the air becoming delightfully cool. It was nature's lullaby, and I slumbered like a contented baby, lost in the embrace of peaceful dreams.🥰 Now, fast forward to this morning, my dear friends. Oh, how reluctantly I emerged from my cozy cocoon! With each step, I struggled against the lingering embrace of sleep, yearning to stay in the realm of dreams just a little longer. But duty called, and I just had to muster every strength I could, just face the day. And boy, oh boy, thank goodness I did!😎 Guys, this day held something truly extraordinary in store. You see, today at school, we were graced with the presence of remarkable individuals of the highest caliber. The interactive sessions were an absolute treasure trove of knowledge and enlightenment, captivating our minds and stirring our curiosity. One particular session stole the spotlight and stood out for me We had the PRO of the Oyo State Police Force come talk to us.🤯 In those moments, he painted a vivid portrait—one that would make you see the police force in a different light. Lol. Well, through it all, I would say it was an eye-opening experience, a beacon of hope amidst the shadows of skepticism. I know I’m not a storyteller, I’m a nurse turned doctor (let’s forget my other qualifications for now, haha), telling tales of her day, lol. Hope you enjoyed it. I am doing and feeling good, although the sun here isn't smiling at all😩 thank God for sunscreen, though. 😅 Remember, I mentioned in one of my recent posts that I will be sharing parts of my medical journey with you. Well, I finally started clinical orientation this month, and it has been amazing. For those who don't know what clinical orientation is, it's just a series of programs to intimate a medical student who must have passed the MB1 examination (an exam that allows you to transition from the preclinical to the clinical phase). Having different lecturers, consultants and alumni speak to us about their journeys and how to navigate through school has been enlightening and educating as well as inspiring.  Anyways, enjoy my photos from the first day of the orientation. Let me tell you a story about how I discovered the *best stress-reliever* these past months in medical school. Most times, people think that being in medical requires you to always bury your head under stacks of textbooks, notes, slides and assignments, drowning in the stress that comes with the pursuit of a medical degree, but I try to not let my journey be all of that! Don't get me wrong, those books ain't gonna read themselves, right? But being in medical school shouldn't only be about studying hard and memorizing facts. It’s also about exploring your passions and having fun with your peers. That’s why I love taking part in extracurricular programs that let me express myself and unwind from the compounding stress. One of these programs was a beauty pageant that our medical association organized in March. It was exciting, and to think that I participated in a pageant when I was doing my nursing degree some years back, I came third. Not bad, but not enough for me. It just felt so good to just vibe and be on stage again as well as give my class bragging rights 😅 This time, I was determined to do better. I practiced my walk, my smile, my spoken word—my talent. I chose a stunning outfit and a dazzling makeup. I was confident and I rocked the stage with grace and elegance _(if I do say so myself)._ I couldn’t believe it when they announced my name _(actually, I could, what is the essence of having bragging rights if you don't brag, right?)_ It was such a thrilling moment. I felt proud of myself and happy for my class. They cheered me on and gave me high-fives. We had the best time celebrating our victory. Oh, and before you ask, no, I didn’t use any drugs to enhance my performance. The only thing I injected was charisma 😉 And don’t worry, I didn’t forget about my studies. I still aced my first medical exams, but that is story for another day. How did I do it? Well, let’s just say that beauty is not only skin deep, but also molecular deep 😎 So, that’s my story of how I became the Queen of UIMSA. What do you think? 8th and 9 the slides are my favorite. Do you know something that's very funny, yet amazing? It's how life can be! Life is full of surprises. Sometimes it gives us a hug. Sometimes it slaps us in the face. It's that time of the year when we get celebrate nurses all over the world!!!! Looking back at this same day, years ago when I was still a student nurse, there was a poem I wrote that embodied my feelings towards the profession, and till today, it hasn't changed. I can't post the same poem, but here is another one for you to see how beautiful nurses are, and how amazing we are on the battle against disease. The sad thing is that we are on the background. IF YOU ARE A NURSE, I CELEBRATE YOU! ask that you take out time to celebrate a nurse today. It's night shift today again and I don't want to relive yesterday You smiled all day, you smiled through the pain, I believed all was okay I smiled softly at your empty bed, it's sad I won't see you smile again The chills of the night breeze kisses my skin, asking, "who will you save today again?" With suppressed tears I go about my duties Because no one knows the hurt behind this beauty You are meant to be strong, you are a nurse!
