how to find & create more energy 👇🔋 even when you’re busy & burnt out !! ⁣ ⁣ living a full& joyous life while balancing an inherently stressful job is something I have mastered doing & something i believe God wants for us. I believe discouragement, burn out & low energy levels are not from God and not something we need to accept as our reality ❤️‍🔥⁣ ⁣ With that being said, if you are feeling low energy right now & have very little or no motivation, thats not a problem. You are not broken. You are not a failure. Your feelings are not facts, and they have no power over you. And you are in the right place🥰 ⁣ think about yourself as a rechargeable iphone battery ⁣🔋 ⁣ What’s your percentage ? 🔋⁣ ⁣ similarly to how we don’t shame our iphone when it gets to 1%, we simply recognize oops i need to plug it in, i want you to use that same neutrality when you notice yourself getting burnt out ⁣🫶🏽 ⁣ It’s okay not to be okay ⁣ ⁣ & Our bodies adapt QUICKLY when we apply these things 👇 ⁣ ⁣ STEP ONE: This isn’t the time to force things. Tap into your Feminine energy by plugging into your power source aka God. Spend time with Him, even10 mins & be honest with Him. Ask Him for help & guidance ⁣ ⁣ STEP TWO – Unapologetically detach from what is draining your battery — you’re the only one who decides what has access to you. this is NOT selfish . Evaluate: What have you committed to that’s not even in alignment with your values anymore ? That doesn’t light you up ? where is your energy going & what is stifling your energy ? What foods are you eating that are depleting you ?? We have to recognize that our food industry in america is not out to help us make aligned food choices. High amounts of processed sugars, alcohol, gluten, diary, soy is all going to drain our battery ⁣ STEP THREE – ⁣ ⁣ Unapologetically decide what your body, mind & soul needs to make that battery RECHARGE & schedule it out - again, this is not selfish. Hey Nurses, if you work night shift. When is the best time to workout? . . To be honest, it is whenever you feel like you are able to workout! It ( could be after your shift or before. . . However, for you nurses, that have kids, we need to switch your schedules back to days. Or if you just want a normal schedule. . . I would workout on the first day of my (Monday) week before work. either in the am and then take a nap or right before work. Up to you with which one works best. . . Then I would not workout on tuesday even though it is my day off to sleep and recover. Wednesday, I would workout again before work. (am or pm) . . HH MEAL PREP AIR FRIED CAJUN FISH TACO BOWL 🐟🥭🫘🌽🥑🍚 save if you love simple, high-protein and eating the rainbow!! I wear many hats but prioritizing my health is a must! Shift workers are at increased risk of weight gain and developing diabetes and other cardiovascular diseases This study by the Douglas Hospital Research Centre is said to be the first time that shift workers are being studied at this capacity The study was meant to find the eating patterns of police officers on shift work rotations Officers were separated by 3 day types based on a 24hr work day: Morning shift Evening shift Night shift Each officer’s BMR was calculated using the Mifflin-St. Jeor equation (one of my favorites) The study found that more calories from fat/saturated fat were consumed on REST DAYS than WORKING DAYS Calories were significantly lower on evening shift and night shift days than REST DAYS Higher intake + lower activity = energy surplus Study find that the officers had the shortest eating window on rest days (where more sleep was obtained) and longest eating window on night-shift (where least sleep was obtained) These findings are showing that shift workers are developing eating habits that are slowly impairing metabolic function Maintaining a healthy metabolism/physique as a shift worker is very much possible with the proper structure and willingness to excel Link ➡️ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7230712/ To learn more science based tips, visit my bio ncrnutritioncoaching.com and subscribe to our weekly newsletter! In my life, I’ve spent a significant amount of time in and out of hospitals with my dad before he passed away. He struggled with various health conditions, and even now, my mom continues to battle her own health issues, which means I find myself in hospital settings more often than I’d like. It’s safe to say I’ve been around nurses a lot. The year 2020 was a rollercoaster. On one hand, I married my best friend, who happens to be a nurse, along with her entire family of nurses. But on the other hand, it was a challenging time for nurses everywhere due to the pandemic. Since then, I’ve been surrounded by nurses constantly, both in my personal and professional life. I’ve witnessed and heard about the struggles they face—from mental health challenges to stress-induced eating habits , weight gain upon starting their careers in hospitals , skipping meals during long shifts , and enduring unfair patient-to-nurse ratios and toxic work environments. Listening to their experiences, I couldn’t just stand by and do nothing anymore. That’s why I’ve been working on something that I believe will make a difference for nurses and my own family of nurses. I am an Oompa Loompa! I got a spray tan yesterday… you never know how they’re going to turn out but honestly it never bothers me. I just look at it as a form of self care. Oh 2024. Here’s a late January recap. I miss being more active on this platform, and having a community here, this is me getting back to that 💜 This year so far has had a busier start than any other year. I cannot believe we are already more than halfway through February! Life has thrown some hurdles my way and it’s been a little rough. Work has kept me busy, mom life has kept me busy, & I’m being more mindful of carving out time for my health/ wellbeing. I’ve started a couple new projects which I’m excited about, but wish I had more time to dedicate to them. However slow and steady is what’s working for my current life. I’ve set goals & I am determined to take action towards them, so far I have, and that has felt great!
