📖A little more about my origin story. Part of what keeps people persevering in the #infertilityjourney long time is the ability to rewrite the narrative. ✍️ And for me that meant taking misguided/unhelpful comments and reframing them (OR using them to fuel me). Because this one moment exchange with a friend, I decided I’d be a mother in this lifetime NOT because of my mindset, mantras, or manifestations would make IVF work but because I was so open to exploring motherhood in my day to day life… And soon I discovered: I was already a mother I mothered as an educator in the classroom I mothered women in my friends group I mothered myself, when life felt impossibly hard I found opportunities to mother and opened myself up to how/what motherhood could look like in all sorts of scenarios. 🤍 And while it still took 5 more years to meet our miracle son… he met a resilient mother on his birth day.
One of the lines that gets thrown around so much is……..just be grateful. And it’s because of these three little words, that we feel an immense amount of guilt. Because those words insinuate that we aren’t grateful. And that line says that you shouldn’t feel anything but gratitude. Which is where I call bullsh*t. I don’t think anyone would argue with me when I say that, the emotions we feel as a result of infertility are complicated, right? So in the world of infertility, it is essential that we make space for both grief, and gratitude. But, HOW exactly do we create space for both grief and gratitude? Skrzyżowanie ulic Łaciarskiej (na wprost) i Oławskiej na zestawieniu porównującym lata 1945/2024. Zabudowa Łaciarskiej zachowała się praktycznie tylko na północnym i południowym krańcu - jej środkowy odcinek został po wojnie zabudowany blokami, a nawet nimi przedzielony (pomiędzy Wita Stwosza, a Kotlarską). Oławską spotkał podobny los - dziś stoją pojedyncze kamienice, a odcinek od Kazimierza Wielkiego do fosy wygląda dziś zupełnie inaczej niż przed wojną. Mai 1940 im Westen, landeten gegen 5:30 Uhr neun Lastensegler mit 82 Fallschirmpionieren der Sturmgruppe »Granit« auf dem Dach der belgischen Festung Eben-Emael bei Lüttich, mit einer ca. 1.100 Mann starken Garnison. ✠ Innerhalb von zehn Minuten hatten die deutschen Fallschirmpioniere alle Panzertürme sowie weitere Kuppeln und Werke mit Hohlladungen ausgeschaltet. Wucht und Lärm der Detonationen sowie der Einsatz von Nebelgranaten verunsicherten die Verteidiger so, dass sie sich in die tieferen Stollen der Festung zurückzogen. Die Deutschen wiederum scheuten vor dem erneuten Einsatz der neuen Hohlladungs-Waffe zurück, weil die Festung nach ihrer Eroberung weiter genutzt werden sollte. ✠ Als dann weitere deutsche Truppen von außen in die Gefechte eingriffen, streckte der Festungskommandant am 11. Mai 1940 #otdih um 11:30 Uhr die Waffen. Die Verluste betrugen auf belgischer Seite 24 und auf deutscher sechs Soldaten. ✠ Mit der Eroberung der belgischen Festung Eben-Emael konnte die Wehrmacht ihren Angriffsplan im Westen kaschieren und die Aktionen erfüllte ihren strategischen Zweck. Mother’s Day is coming up and I just wanted to put out a little reminder to everyone to be kind, you never know someone’s journey. People during Mother’s Day tend to say really hurtful things, the most common I see being you aren’t a “REAL mom”. In my heart, all moms are mothers. Plant moms, dog moms, cat moms, mothers of loss, human moms, reptile moms, anything that you nurture and are a caregiver to counts to me. Their definition is strictly living human children and i cant change their mind, that’s their definition of a mother. Some women out there have birthed and don’t even deserve the title of mom. Just because we share the title of mother shouldn’t make it less meaningful to anyone else. Anerkjennelsen av bidraget norske sivile sjøfolk ga under andre verdenskrig var alt for lenge fraværende. På Hurtigrutemuseet har innsatsen til hjemmeseilerne i hurtigrutefart en betydelig plass i den faste utstillingen vår. På bildet ser vi Nordenfjeldske Dampskibsselskabs DS Dronning Maud i brann etter å ha blitt bombet av tyske bombefly i Gratangsfjorden 1. mai 1940. Skipet var rekvirert av norske myndigheter og fraktet et sanitetskompani, tydelig merket som hospitalskip. 19 mennesker mistet livet som følge av angrepet. Hele 17 hurtigruteskip gikk ned under krigen. Mannskap og passasjerer led under både okkupasjonsmaktens, allierte og norske angrep. Мой дедушка. Мой герой! Ситников Василий Александрович. Родился 15 сентября 1919 года в деревне Виноградовского Корниловского сельского совета Верхнетоемского района, Архангельской области. В 1939 году был призван на действительную службу в армию и зачислен в полковую школу младших командиров при 10-й танковой бригаде г. Шепетовка Киевского особого военного округа. Там и застала его Великая Отечественная война. Боевой путь прошёл до Берлина. В период войны часть, в которой дедушка служил, участвовала во многих крупных сражениях, в том числе в Сталинградской битве, на Курской дуге, в Корсунь-Шевченковской операции и взятии Берлина. В 1942 году в танковом бою был ранен. С 9 мая 1945 по август 1948 года дедушка находился в группе советских оккупационных войск в Германии (ГСОВГ) в городах Шверин и Котбус. За храбрость и отвагу получил несколько благодарностей от Верховного Главнокомандующего: за участие в боях за города Варшаву, Познань, Польцин, Берлин и другие. Мама рассказала. В сентябре 1944 в Румынии в составе 206 стрелковой дивизии дядя моего дедушки,Тукмаков Нургали Зарипжян улы (по маминой линии) сгорел в танке заживо, спасая экипаж подбитой машины. Это были бои где-то между Плоешти и Лудуш. Ему было 20 лет. Он был самый младший в семье, его мама всю жизнь ждала его. Она смотрела на дверь и ждала, что сейчас зайдёт Нургали и обнимет её. Она жила долго, но ушла, не увидев ни сына, ни его могилы. Пока она ждала, в союзе ставили памятники, но государство не искало пропавших без вести и погибших воинов. Спустя пару десятков лет с 1945 года стали водить парады, «бабы еще нарожали». Пропавших искали поисковики на энтузиазме. Отец Нургали был помогал кормить солдат, отдавал последнее и умер с голода. Моя бабушка ела траву, какая только в пищу пригодна. Дети ходили с раздутыми животами вечно голодные. Выжили не все. Моя мама в детстве сидела со своей бабушкой, слушала рассказы, и они вместе ждали Нургали. Я нашел извещение о пропавшем без вести от 1947 г. Клочок бумаги. Нет даже дня гибели. Просто сентябрь 1944 го. Завершить мой рассказ можно отрывком из Твардовского. Я убит подо Ржевом, В безымянном болоте, В пятой роте, на левом, При жестоком налете. Я не слышал разрыва, Я не видел той вспышки, — Точно в пропасть с обрыва — И ни дна ни покрышки. И во всем этом мире, До конца его дней, Ни петлички, ни лычки С гимнастерки моей. …. He carried wounded soldiers from the battlefield. Once, he saved a general wounded in the head. His bravery was recognized with the medal “For Courage” by the command. In the autumn of 1943, as part of the Voronezh Front under the command of General Vatutin, he participated in the crossing of the Dnieper north of Kyiv.
