OK... where do I begin?? Went to the @menchocfactory for the very first time to see #powerofsail⛵. The theatre itself was so lovely, and the staff were incredibly welcoming! It's a lovely venue and had a really warm feel aswell. The play itself was like nothing I've ever experienced before. It was one act,no interval and intense from start to finish. I have always wanted to see Julian Ovenden on stage, having been a fan of his for years.. and he didn't disappoint! He was amazing, you couldn't take your eyes off the stage for a second! Also nice to see Giles Terera, having last seen him as the OG Aaron Burr in @hamiltonwestend, and Tanya Franks, who I last saw as Annie in @thegirlsmusical 🌻🌻. The play is all about free speech, challenging ideas and extremist views. Given recent world events this is all incredibly relevant, and very thought provoking. A very easy 5⭐️ from me for Mind Mangler at the Apollo Theatre 🧙🏻♂️ Admittedly, it felt like a very special show for me today. My grandad and I loved watching @mischiefcomedy together (I lost count of how many times we saw Peter Pan Goes Wrong) and three years ago today he passed away. Felt fitting that tonight I finally saw some of the Mischief Comedy gang in @themindmangler on stage🪄 Emotional investment aside, I absolutely loved this show. Laugh out loud funny from the start to the very end, I’m not sure I’ve ever heard an audience enjoy a show so much. The comedic timing of both Henry Lewis and Jonathan Sayer is absolutely impeccable - and though I would expect nothing less with their long, long list of achievements, it was an absolute joy to see on stage. Both utilise their improv skills to perfection through repeated audience interaction which blended seamlessly with more scripted moments. From a ‘quick fire Jesus’ display of magical prowess to revealing the secrets of anyone willing to sit in the stalls, the pace of the show doesn’t let up which only serves to increase the humour. Soon to be heading out on a UK tour, it’s not one to be missed for a truly enjoyable evening full of laughter. It’s everything you can expect from Mischief Comedy but with the added bonus of magic ✨ (Feat. Meet our designer Maya Heritage… Maya is a freelance multidisciplinary artist specialising in performance design. Maya graduated with a first class degree from The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, Maya is currently based and working in London. It has been announced that Rob Madge’s My Son’s A Queer (But What Can You Do?) is set to return to the Edinburgh Fringe this summer. When Rob was twelve, they attempted a full-blown Disney parade in their house for their Grandma. As Rob donned wigs and played Mary Poppins, Ariel, Mickey Mouse and Belle, their Dad doubled as Stage Manager, Sound Technician and Goofy. 3 years ago today we wrapped my favorite play. This cast was PHENOMENAL. They were each one so incredibly talented. This is the only show that Ive ever wanted to do all over again the moment that it ended. I wish I could turn back time and relive it all in slow motion. Dorian: The Musical will have its world premiere at Southwark Playhouse Borough from 4 July to 10 August. The modern adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s classic novel The Picture of Dorian Gray is directed by Linnie Reedman, with music and lyrics by Joe Evans. In this new vision, the piece follows the journey of Dorian Gray, a young musician who experiences overnight success only to confront the dark side of his desires. Taking on the role of Dorian is Alfie Friedman (The Undeclared War, The Witches of Eastwick). Further casting for the production is yet to be announced. খুব ভালো সময় গুলোই যে কেন এরকম হুশ করে নাকের ডগা দিয়ে কেটে যায় কে জানে। পাঁচ দিনের এই workshop টা যে আমায় দু হাত ভরে কতকিছু দিয়েছে বলে শেষ করা প্রায় অসম্ভব। প্রকৃতি আর এই মানুষগুলো যে এমনভাবে এক নিমেষে আপন করে হাতে ধরে এতকিছু শিখিয়ে দেবে ভাবিনি। ধন্যবাদ শব্দটা বোধহয় সত্যিই বড্ড ছোট। খুব miss করছি ওপরের বড় ঘরটাকে , জঙ্গলের রেওয়াজ করার জায়গাটাকে , আমার সেই গাছ বন্ধুকে , যাকে জড়িয়ে ধরে কত কথাই না উজাড় করে দিয়েছি , সেই কচিকাঁচা দের , training এর সময় আমরা প্রচণ্ড ক্লান্ত হয়ে গেলে যারা জঙ্গলের আনাচে কানাচে ঘুরে শেকড় বাকর নিয়ে এসে খাওয়াতো , সেই পাথুরে মাঠটাকে , যেটার ওপর দৌড়ে পায়ের তলায় কেটে-ছড়ে একাকার হতো , শেষ দিনের সেই নাচগানগুলোকে , অনেক রাত অবধি বসা সেই আড্ডাটাকে , আর সবার সঙ্গে কাটানো প্রতিটা টক ঝাল মিষ্টি মুহূর্তগুলোকে। এই পাঁচটা দিন সবাই একসঙ্গে গলা মিলিয়ে হেসেছি , কেঁদেছি , সবকিছু একে অপরের সঙ্গে ভাগ করে নিয়েছি। এমন দিন বারবার এলে ভারী মজা হত। অপেক্ষা করছি পরের বারের জন্য , খবর পেলেই গুটি গুটি পা বাড়াবো সবার সাথে... #theatre #theatrelife #theatrelove #theatrelover #theatreworkshop #theatreisoxygen #organic #organictheatre #organicworkshop #workshop #nature #mountains #green #forest #training #mentors #love #friendship #newfriends #arghya #production #theatreproduction #music #musiclove #musiclover
