A proud member of the #5amwritersclub, I have been known to write before sunrise although finally, the sun is starting to show her light before 6 am. 2 days of feeling blah 😑 and not feeling good at all. It’s truly frustrating dealing with autoimmune diseases because you’ll have a week of feeling good then out of nowhere you’re hit with pain, exhaustion, any number of things and it’s put you down for days. Dealing with autoimmune diseases is always a gamble bc you never know how things are going to go when you wake up. I had several good days, then it hit me and I’ve been in bed for two days straight feeling awful. 😢 So I was able to force myself to get up, soak in an epsom salt bath, finally eat something and now I’m hydrating with my fluids through my port (which is acting up and that’s a whole other story) I’m hoping all this will make me feel semi better and I can recover and get back to good days. Quem não me conhece e até algumas pessoas que convivem comigo algumas vezes se espantam por eu parecer bem e saudável, mas há muitos momentos e dias que me sinto mal. Só pq eu geralmente estou feliz, sempre sorrindo e não parecer doente, não significa que eu não esteja. A vida de um autoimune crônico não é fácil. Coisas simples como carregar uma sacola no mercado, segurar uma xícara de café pela manhã e até pentear os cabelos alguns dias é algo que simplesmente eu nãos consigo fazer. E ESTÁ TUDO BEM‼️ Aprendi a lidar com isso da forma mais leve que fosse possível. 🍃 A cada 6 semanas venho ao hospital para fazer meu tratamento. Passei por todos os protocolos orais e nenhum conseguiu “deter” a doença como esta medicação imunobiológica que recebo o REMICADE. What a day. Our alarm went off at 3:20 AM, we drove an hour, and then, after Edwin @nievesed2001 was prepped by a wonderful nurse who put us at ease and made us laugh so hard, he went into his day surgery. The procedure started late, and as I waited, I went through all the reading material I brought AND today’s Seattle Times. I hit the hospital Starbucks, got a matcha tea, and bought myself a present, a pretty, new water bottle. Then I waited some more. A therapy dog named Darby, who comes to the hospital, visited me—and that made me so happy. More hours went by. Then I was reunited with my Edwin after a successful operation. 🥰 Our awesome nurse, Kristeen, graciously posed for a photo with Edwin. Seattle traffic on Friday afternoons is pretty tough; today’s was no exception. We got home and it had been an 11-hour day! Or perhaps just the ability to be like Samantha Stephens and make everything and everyone else stand still, frozen, for hours on end so that I could finish a project without interruption, distraction or a continual list of things OTHER than writing which take up time and spaces on my calendar. Friday night and glass of wine in hand!! It’s been a tough week to say the least. Teething, viral infections and ear infections all thrown in. Like it isn’t hard anyway!! Anyway, jumping on here to say, just be kind 🩷 A lady stopped me today to tell me I’m blessed and then just like that she said ‘ if I was you, I’d top myself!’ I don’t think she realised how powerful or thoughtless her words were. Six months ago today , my intuition and the universe guided me to the beach where I ran into an old acquaintance.
