First picture I was able to take in the Mt Carmel Tunnel. There’s no stopping allowed, but I managed to get the entire tunnel to myself for a brief 10 seconds. I ran out of my car and snapped a few pictures as fast as I could. Zion was packed, the entire country started Spring Break the day after I had arrived there. I can definitely see why they call it one of the most popular National Parks, but at the same time I don’t understand the hype. I don’t understand why people visit these places and do nothing but talk the entire time. Meanwhile people like me are out there trying to bask in silence. I was too exhausted to take a day hike in Zion because I knew how difficult it would be. So I stuck to the shorter trails, but I was also able to hike the Observation Point trail which was breathtaking. If you’re looking for a National Park to visit. I suggest visiting here during April or the months after April if you want to avoid the bigger crowds. Day 4 (Part 1) I tried sand boarding on the dunes of Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park. The sand was the softest I ever felt and was pretty pleasant to fall on, considering I was falling. Was super fun, but also tiring because you have to walk back to the top each time. Had planned to do 2 hikes in Zion but it was SO crowded we couldn't find roadside parking near enough to our trailhead OR at the visitor center after circling for about 15 min so we moved on to the next stop. 📍Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park 📍Zion National Park #americathebeautiful #hiking #sandboarding #zion #coralpinksanddunesstatepark
L'Ouest américain 2019 - J13 - En route vers Zion ! @zionnps Si Bryce m'a émerveillé, Zion m'a totalement achevé par sa beauté ! 😮 Un coup de coeur, tout comme l'hébergement au Zion Park motel à Springdale (une seule nuit, snif...). Une fois de plus, nous partons très tôt mais la route est bloquée par une course à pied. Heureusement, cela ne va pas durer. Arrivés vers 9h, nous tenterons Canyon Overlook Trail mais sans succès. Il est déjà trop tard pour chopper une place de parking. Comme conseillé sur @roadtrippinfr nous mettons la voiture au Zion Human History et nous partons à pied. Après un passage au visitor center, nous ferons le Watchman Trail afin que tout le monde puisse marcher (mais chaud chaud avec la petite). Les gens sont sympas et félicitent ma petite fille qui réalise le trail comme une grande. 😊 Bien entendu, la chaleur est bien présente et pesante même avant midi. De retour en bas, nous ferons un pique-nique les pieds dans l'eau et profiterons des paysages. A ce stade, la fatigue commence à faire chauffer les esprits et fatiguer les corps. Petite tentative à Emerald Pool Trail mais nous reviendrons sur nos pas car bloqué ou blindé. La masse de touristes est bien là ! Heureusement, l'hébergement est ultra plaisant et les filles profiteront de la piscine pendant que je m'occupe du linge.
