Keliaujant man patinka nupirkti vaikams knygų, susijusių su tuo miestu. Taip knyginėjant galima geriau pažinti miestą, atrasti norimų aplankyti vietų, sužinoti įdomybių apie jau žinomus objektus. Paryžiuje skaitom #amelielaffaiteur knygą #unepromenadeaparis . Tai- nuostabiai iliustruota knyga, kurioje prancūziškai ir angliškai aprašyta 15 gerai žinomų lankytinų Paryžiaus vietų. Champs-Élizées, Jardin su Luxembourg, Autour du Louvre, Montmartre, Park de la Villette, Tour Eiffel ir kitiems objektams skirta po visą atvartą - pakankamai erdvės suvilioti ten apsilankyti🤩 Knygos pabaigoje- desertas- prancūziški patiekalai, kurių verta paragauti🤪 Labai smagu tokią knygą ir grįžus pavartyti, prisiminti aplankytas vietas. Be to, su ja vaikams lengviau papasakoti, kur buvo, ką matė, ką patyrė, ką ragavo. Išleido: #larousseleunesse Iliustravo: @amelielaffaiteur Amžius: 4-12 m. Book Review! Title: A Match Gone Awry Author: Arlem Hawks @arlemhawks 📚 Ah, this story was simply delightful and charming. It made me smile. I finished happy. It was a lovely bite of something sweet and I savored every single minute. I’ve long been a fan of Arlem Hawks’ ability to tell story, and it was fun to see how she chose to spin a sweet book, rather than a full-fledged wartime book. To say I was pleased, though not surprised, would describe my feelings perfectly. The setting came alive for me in this book, and though I rarely find myself interested in visiting big cities, I can’t deny I now have a keen interest in visiting Paris. Too bad I can’t visit Paris as it stood two hundred fifty years ago. I also very much want to try the pastries mentioned in this book from a French Patisserie. Anyone living in France want to hook me up? I think Harvey and Gabrielle were both so cute. I loved Gabrielle’s quirky personality and her outlandish plan to save herself from her overbearing and deplorable step-mother. Harvey’s need to rescue Gabrielle and his bumbling way of sometimes going about doing that was simply charming. They felt so real. They had problems, they quarreled, they struggled, they figured things out. And I loved so much that the ending didn’t magically come together with everyone getting what they originally dreamed of. Sometimes a new dream ends up being better overall, even if that wasn’t the original plan. Now we just need Harvey to open a pastry shop, and all will be right in this little world. Long story short: I loved this book so much and highly recommend it for anyone looking for a delightfully written, unique, quick book. . .. … .. . *thanks to the author for the e-copy. All thoughts about this delightful book are my own. #LovelyBookishDelights #ArlemHawks #BookReview #HistoricalRomance #SweetRomance #BooksInFrance #FrenchSetting #Paris #Patisserie #RomanceBooks #Bookstagram #BookPhoto

I've just finished reading Bridesmaid Blitz by Sarah Green, one of the books in the Ask Amy Green series. Though it is part of a series, all the books can be read as standalones! This was a really cute little read, on the younger side of the YA bracket (main character is 13-14 and the secondary main character is 17). My one criticism of these books is that the writing does feel a tad cheesy, especially because it's clearly an adult trying to write from the perspective of a young teen and it feels a bit forced, but it's still a cute read that I'd recommend 🗼 #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #askamygreen #books #irishbooks #booksinfrance #yabooks #teenbooks #currentlyreading #justread #aprilreads #reading #read

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐚𝐠𝐞 by Aimie K Runyan. Thanks to @tlcbooktours for the gifted copy ⁣ ⁣ “Food critic Tempèsta Luddington has always felt like the odd person out in her family, ever since she lost her beloved mother at the tender age of thirteen. When her workaholic father passes fifteen years later, Tempèsta is not surprised that the majority of the considerable family money will pass to her dutiful younger brother, Wal. Still, she is left a modest remembrance from her mother, and for the first time Tempèsta has a world of choices before her. Lost in grief and hoping to reconnect with her memories and her mother’s past, she uses the money to buy a ramshackle manor house in Sainte-Colombe, a small village in Provence, where her mother had grown up. But she is greeted with more questions than answers. Her welcome, especially by the town’s stodgy mayor, is cold at best, and she finds herself wondering if the entire experiment was a mistake. Yet she stays, stubbornly sticking it out, slowly learning that her mother’s legacy was more than just a nest egg. Through her mother and the village, Tempèsta learns the value of community and friendship, the importance of self-confidence, and the power of love and trust. What’s more, she sees for herself that there is magic and beauty in the everyday—even something as simple as a sprig of lavender and sage.”⁣ 𝘚𝘺𝘯𝘰𝘱𝘴𝘪𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘈𝘮𝘢𝘻𝘰𝘯 ⁣ ⁣ The Memory of Lavender and Sage is available now. ⁣ ⁣ Qotd: What is a smell that brings back a memory for you? Perhaps not the most aesthetic book I’ve ever posted, but The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway was a great ride. The story stars Jake Barnes, a WWI veteran living in Paris in the years after the war in a community of American expats. This is a quintessential “Lost Generation” story as all of the characters have a sense of listlessness, ennui, and loose morals. Aside from the narrator, the most memorable character is Lady Brett Ashley, who has a complicated but loving relationship with Jake which is threaded throughout the story. Jake, Brett, and their friends journey down to Spain to watch bullfights, something I knew very little about before reading this book. This is definitely worth a read, just to enjoy Hemingway’s descriptions of sceneries and his outstanding dialogue, but the two leads also steal the show with their complex relationship and electric chemistry. For fans of Old Man and the Sea, don’t worry, there is some fishing too. Have you read The Sun Also Rises? What are your thoughts? #bookstagram #hemingway #ernesthemingway #thesunalsorises #lostgeneration #modernism #booksinparis #booksinfrance #wwi #booksinspain #bullfighting

The French Girl Review The perfect book if you’re into murder mysteries and are looking for something to read this October. Each of the six main characters has something hidden about their past, but is any one of them capable of murder? Filled with flashbacks and intrigue, this book will keep you on your toes until the last page. Question of The Day: Do you like reading thrillers during the fall? If so, which ones are your favorite?

This single piece perfectly captures the blending of East-West sensibilities that are at the heart of my books, and stands as a metaphor for the immigrant experience and blending two cultures. Thank you for these beautiful pieces, Asha! Please follow @ashapateldesigns to check out her entire stunning collection…if you’re anything like me, you’ll want every piece! ✨Book Review✨ ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨While The Chateau started off a bit slow for me—I did enjoy the atmosphere and the early chapters, but it took me a while to get invested—I flew through the last 100 pages! I’d categorize this as a bit more psychological drama/mystery than thriller. There are plenty of secrets and twists that come together in a way I found very satisfying. This was a quick read with plenty of messy twists and a gorgeous backdrop, great for summer!

French Holiday comes out this week! It was my first Sarah Ready book but won’t be my last. Review: French Holiday is a romantic comedy, but also has the weight of unrequited love, unexpected circumstances and the search for purpose. I feel like many romances these days have dual perspectives, so this one being just from Merry's perspective was refreshing. The reader is kept guessing as to what Noah is feeling, the same as Merry, which I enjoyed. And Noah's feelings are the only mystery, as the book goes on more is revealed about why Noah and Merry each ended up at the chateau. There were a couple of side characters that I didn't enjoy at the start, but they grew on me when they became vulnerable with Merry. Overall, this is a great book for the summer reading season and would be fun to read while on vacation or even if you are just dreaming about your next travels. I recommend this book for fans of The Wedding Date and One Night on the Island. QOTD: Where was the last place or favorite place you traveled for fun? Thank you for @netgalley and Swift and Lewis Publishing for an eARC of this book. #arcreview #sarahready #romancereads #travelreads #booksinfrance #netgalley #booksandflowers #bookstagram #bookishlove

One (crumbling) French castle. Two enemies-at-first-sight. The holiday of a lifetime. Merry DeLuca has a problem—a big problem. Her sister just married her best friend and the only man she’s ever loved. Her life is rapidly spiraling down the drain and she doesn’t have an escape plan. So when Merry is offered a three-month holiday living in a romantic castle in the French countryside she leaps at the chance. Merry knows her French holiday will fix everything—there will be mouthwatering pastries, delicious (meaningless) flirtations, and languid strolls through vineyards at sunset. Her holiday will be perfect. At least, Merry believes that until she arrives and finds Noah Wright—the best man at her sister’s wedding and the worst man she’s ever known—staying in her castle. Famous travel documentarian by day and arrogant devil by night, Noah refuses to leave the castle. Which means that Merry and Noah are stuck together in France, in a crumbling castle, in a holiday where nothing goes right. Not for Merry and not for Noah. So they strike a truce—they’ll live as cohabitating friends for three-months, and then they’ll amicably part ways, never to see each other again. But the thing about friendship? Sometimes secrets are uncovered. Mysteries revealed. Hearts laid bare. And friendship can start to feel a lot like caring. A lot like love. It can even make you wish that the holiday never has to end. #sarahready #frenchholidaybook #socialbutterflypr #currentlyreading #romcombooks #romancebook #ForcedProximity #onebed #booksinfrance #enemiestolovers #arcbook #arcreader #timetoread #bookpost #booknerdigan

The Spice Master at Bistro Exotique Have you ever had the smell of food or spices transport you to a place or memory? That's what happens when chef Kate cooks with the spices this woman, Garrance, the landlord of her apartment and bistro Kate is opening, gives her. Except the smell and taste of spices bring on wild fantasies. This woman also happens to have a son who is also a chef. After the disaster of the first grand opening of Kate's new bistro, Garrance will give her another chance at the bistro only if her son also works there, who of course does not get along with Kate at all. This was a cute book that took place in France. Very focused on the food and spices. Forced proximity and enemies to lovers. Mingling mothers for both of them was a nice touch to the story. Very light hearted and just what I needed! Cover Reveal 👻 Back the Indiegogo campaign (link in bio) by April 30! I'm a ghost whisperer, not a catacomb crawler. But when you live in Paris, sometimes you end up being both. Hi, I’m Alix. During the day, I’m a history student at the time-honoured Sorbonne University. After class, I hang out with the ghosts of the revolution, the many undead misunderstood Parisian artists, and adventurous scientists that glow in the dark. None of them are alive, but they come to me to solve their problems with the living. When a recently deceased catacomb tour guide asks me to retrieve a mysterious personal item from the underground, things take a turn for the weird. Suddenly, I find myself in a city of ghosts, hunted by murderous cave crawlers, and stumbling across haunting secrets. If I’m not careful now, I might end up a ghost myself. #ghostwhisperer #booksinfrance #parisianghosts #ghosts #ghoststories #urbanfantasy #newurbanfantasyrelease #newbooks #crowdfundingproject

💛Book Review💛 Sarah Ready’s latest novel French Holiday was a great combination of a laugh out loud comedy, romance, and mystery. After watching the man she loves walk down the aisle with her sister, Merry is certain she needs an escape. So when she’s offered a chance to stay in a French chateau, she knows she can’t turn it down! When she arrives, she’s floored by the natural beauty of France and the stunning chateau with five turrets. It all feels like a dream come true, until her one night stand groomsman Noah shows up. She accosts him with a cucumber and this was already after I had laughed aloud at least four times. I should warn that not everything in this book is lighthearted. There’s a great deal of loss explored in the book, which only enhanced the romance for me. However, I wanted to put the warning out there. Merry has a bit of Amelia Bedelia in her. She just has some unfortunate luck at times that has such great comedic effect. I listened to most of the book thanks to @PRHaudio and the narrator was fantastic. I did also read some of it on my kindle, but I highly recommend the audio! I love when books make me laugh and smile as I read. I have never read a book by Sarah Ready before. I feel lucky to now read through the rest of her novels! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #sarahready #laughoutloudbooks #laughoutloudreads #frenchholiday #getawaytrip #booksinfrance #lavieenrose #ameliabedelia #clumsygirl #romcombook #romcomaudiobooks #romcombookstagram #readmoreromance #romanceandmystery

“A tender novel about the push and pull between families and independence, obligation and freedom, and the past and the future. The Direction of the Wind will both break your heart and send it soaring. Bravo, Mansi Shah!” —Allison Winn Scotch, bestselling author of The Rewind The publishing journey is wild and when I went to my first author event in 2010, it was for a signing of @aswinn ‘s latest book. I could never have imagined that one day she’d be reading mine and offering a blurb! In addition to being a prolific writer with ten books under her belt, she’s so supportive of authors who are coming up behind her, and we are so grateful for it! I’ve read and loved all of her books and you should add them to your TBR. Here’s her latest: THE REWIND: Two exes wake up together with wedding bands on their fingers—and no idea how they got there. They have just one New Year’s Eve at the end of 1999 to figure it out in this big-hearted and nostalgic rom-com from New York Times bestselling author Allison Winn Scotch. When college sweethearts Frankie and Ezra broke up before graduation, they vowed to never speak to each other again. Ten years later, on the eve of the new millennium, they find themselves back on their snowy, picturesque New England campus together for the first time for the wedding of mutual friends. Frankie’s on the rise as a music manager for the hottest bands of the late ’90s, and Ezra’s ready to propose to his girlfriend after the wedding. Everything is going to plan—they just have to avoid the chasm of emotions brought up when they inevitably come face to face. But when they wake up in bed next to each other the following morning with Ezra’s grandmother’s diamond on Frankie’s finger, they have zero memory of how they got there—or about any of the events that transpired the night before. Now Frankie and Ezra have to put aside old grievances in order to figure out what happened, what didn’t happen...and to ask themselves the most troubling question of all: what if they both got it wrong the first time around? #TheRewindBook #allisonwinnscotch

If you haven’t yet read her, you will be swept away by her books, and I can’t recommend them enough. But Meena’s solitary life is turned upside down when she unexpectedly inherits an apartment in a Victorian brownstone in historic Back Bay, Boston. Though Meena’s impulse is to sell it and keep moving, she decides to use her journalistic instinct to follow the story that landed her in the home of a stranger. It’s a mystery that comes with a series of hidden clues, a trio of meddling Indian aunties, and a handsome next-door neighbor. For Meena it’s a chance for newfound friendships, community, and culture she never thought possible. And a window into her past she never expected. Now as everything unknown to Meena comes into focus, she must reconcile who she wants to be with who she really is. #TheCandidLifeOfMeenaDave #TheDirectionOfTheWind #MansiShah #2023releases #2023books #2023bookrelease #indianauthors #indianwriters #booksinparis #booksinfrance #booksthattravel #kindleunlimited #bestsellingbooks #TheTasteOfGinger #authorssupportingauthors #writerssupportingwriters #writerscommunity #authorfriends #gujaratiwriters #booksthattravel

“With an immersive setting and captivating storytelling, Mansi Shah weaves a gripping tale of the complex relationships of mothers and daughters. The Direction of the Wind sweeps readers along as Sophie retraces her mother’s footsteps through the city of Paris, embarking on an emotional journey of self-discovery and forgiveness that ultimately teaches her the meaning of family and the importance of choosing one’s own path. Then, on a December morning at the university where she works, jarring gunshots pierce the halls. In a temporary safe place and terrified, Simone listens and pretends this will all be over soon. As she waits for silence, her mind racing, Simone’s past year comes into focus. Falling in love and missing it. Finding strength in family and enduring friendships. Planning for the future, fearing it, and hoping against hope in dark places. “A poignant and heart-wrenching story that explores the footsteps of the past as well as the ties of family and the bravery needed to break free. Mansi Shah’s latest novel takes the reader on a journey of love, risk, betrayal, and forgiveness.” —Gian Sardar, author of Take What You Can Carry Many thanks to @gian_sardar who wrote one of the most compelling novels I’ve ever read. It takes place in Kurdistan and her imagery is so good that there are scenes that have still stayed with me after all of this time. TAKE WHAT YOU CAN CARRY: An aspiring photographer follows her dreams and faces her fears in a poignant novel about finding beauty, promise, and love amid the chaos of war-torn Kurdistan… It’s 1979. Olivia Murray, a secretary at a Los Angeles newspaper, is determined to become a photojournalist and make a difference with her work. When opportunity arrives, she seizes it, accompanying her Kurdish boyfriend, Delan, to northern Iraq for a family wedding, hoping to capture an image that lands her a job in the photo department. More important, though, the trip is a chance to understand Delan’s childhood and bridge the differences of their pasts. Yet when the return home proves less safe than Delan believed, Olivia is confronted with a reality she had not expected, and is awakened to the dangers of a town patrolled by Iraqi military under curfew and constant threat. But in this world torn apart by war, there are intoxicating sights and scents, Delan’s loving family, innocence not yet compromised, and small acts of kindness that flourish unexpectedly. All of it will be tested when Olivia captures a shattering, tragic moment on film, one that upends all their lives and proves that true bravery begins with an open heart. #TakeWhatYouCanCarry #TheDirectionOfTheWind #MansiShah #2023releases #2023books #2023bookrelease #indianauthors #indianwriters #booksinparis #booksinfrance #booksthattravel #kindleunlimited #bestsellingbooks #TheTasteOfGinger #authorssupportingauthors #writerssupportingwriters #writerscommunity #authorfriends

“Mansi Shah’s second novel, The Direction of the Wind, is an absorbing exploration of the price of passion and blazing one’s own path despite the weight of convention, family obligations, even motherhood. Using interlocking mother-daughter perspectives spanning decades and continents, Shah gives an unflinching portrayal of lost innocence, addiction, and misplaced romance. A heartfelt story that spans continents and generations, about a young woman who searches for answers about a mother she barely remembers. Sophie Shah was six when she learned her mother, Nita, had died. For twenty-two years, she shouldered the burden of that loss. But when her father passes away, Sophie discovers a cache of hidden letters revealing a shattering truth: her mother didn’t die. She left. Nita Shah had everything most women dreamed of in her hometown of Ahmedabad, India—a loving husband, a doting daughter, financial security—but in her heart, she felt like she was living a lie. Fueled by her creative ambitions, Nita moved to Paris, the artists’ capital of the world—even though it meant leaving her family behind. But once in Paris, Nita’s decision and its consequences would haunt her in ways she never expected. Now that Sophie knows the truth, she’s determined to find the mother who abandoned her. Sophie jets off to Paris, even though the impulsive trip may risk her impending arranged marriage. The Direction of the Wind by Mansi Shah Synopsis: A heartfelt story that spans continents and generations, about a young woman who searches for answers about a mother she barely remembers. Rating: 3 Stars My Review: This was an interesting story of rich to penniless and I think it worked out well. The dual timelines and POV worked in the stories favor and I really loved the characters. Even though I didn't care for some of their choices along the way. The story was well paced and the ending was ok.
