The tension was great, and I wanted to strangle the two at many chances. Honestly I feel Enemies-to-Lovers is fantastic because they are always indenial, but these two admit from the get go that they were attracted to one another. I'd say it's more of a dislike to romance if anything. I think it was great the length of the story and made realistic turns to secrets and surprises that may happen. This was such a sweet book. It reminded me a lot like a hallmark movie but with a bit more spice. Not over the top but lots of heartfelt moments. Sarah wanted a life of her own and decided to build her own bakery despite her parents not wanting that for her. Then she met Ranger again who she only admired from afar, who is an ex-convict because he helped a kid that was being jumped by a few rich boys who used their money to put him away for 10 years. Lots of moments of Sarah standing up for herself and finally putting her love life first. I can say this was a cute read, and the two main characters had a great connection you were able to feel. I loved that we got Remi's story, as her character was teased in the first book, and learning about her past broke my heart. But watching her evolve over the course of the novel was great. Each of the three in her pack are very unique, and provide a pivotal role. You certainly couldn't have any of them left out. Damon, the sweet, golden-retriever hockey player, had my attention from the get go. You could tell he was neurospicy, with a lot of his own baggage that made you (and Remi) open your heart and want to know more. I loved that he wanted to know everything omega to help Remi through everything and to be the best Alpha for her. Cassian. Bear. Honestly, the squeal that left my lips when we found out who Bear was to Remi was ridiculous. I love a good childhood crush to more storyline, and this brought it. The broody goalie, who loves to read, was deserving of his second chance with Remi, and watching them fall in love was honestly swoony. Smith. I ate up the first half of this book, but then the second half lost me a bit. Idk why the whole in a cage situation was believable, but it was to me and the second half was just… not. Idk they changed personalities and it just went off the rails. I mean we had a story line at the end that could have just been left out completely and I have no idea why it wasn’t 🤷♀️ But- I am all about a captive, caged situation and if the characters are innocent it’s just so cute. I end on 3 🌟 because the beginning was great and the end kinda sucked- averaged out. Still worth a read if this is your mood. I loved this book so much. The love story between Simon and Charlie was great. Their past had miscommunication but I feel it was for a reason and it led to them being able to have a future together. I've always believed everything happens for a reason and that applies to this story. Their misunderstanding led to a 15 year separation but once she came back into his life, Simon went above and beyond trying to win Charlie back. His efforts were a bit manipulative and over the top at times but it was great to see him try so hard to get her back. I thought the two of them were perfect for each other and I'm glad they ended up together again. I thought it was funny how Katy and Bennett met again after being stuck together in an elevator. His bad luck of getting trapped in an elevator multiple times was funny. 📖 << ARC BOOK REVIEW >> Wren’s Redemption by Stacey Lynn Hafner ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Read by Claire Wren’s Redemption is the first in the romance suspense Dark Angels series by author Stacey Lynn Hafner. This was a little more serious than my recent reads and was a nice juxtaposition to a lot of fluff. The FMC being a survivor of a cult was very heavy but her story arc was uplifting. Going from a manipulated and abused teenager to a strong independent woman was awesome. The MMC was a good balance for Wren, with his ability to redefine her norm through his genuineness and support her efforts with his strength. The story had me enthralled from the beginning (because I didn’t know exactly what I was getting into) and I loved every minute of it. One minor complaint I have was the culmination felt a bit rushed and we never got a good description of the main antagonist, other than that that it was a good read! I’m really happy that I had the opportunity to read this book as it was different from my current sweet romance rut. Since I am such a cozy mystery fan too this was a great combination! I would recommend caution to victims of emotional, mental or physical abuse as it may be trigger, but I would recommend this story to lovers of spicy romances with a hint of suspense and crime. As a past victim of domestic abuse, this really hit home for me. It’s not always obvious, as shown in TV shows or movies and I really appreciate the nod to how subtle and subversive it can be. Happy (early) pub day!! I love that I already got my signed preorder! Jacob and Skylar look so good on my self next to Hudson and Avery!! 🎨 This is a beautiful book and such a sweet follow up to Pictures in Blue! Skylar and Jacob have the PERFECT friends to lovers story. The balance between the romance and the other parts of the story was done really well. Between Skylar’s grief, and trying to find where she belongs, and Jacob’s migraines and his struggles with his dad, none of it felt like it too much space but it was also all so important??? It was all pretty low stakes but still hit pretty deep! Kelsey did a fantastic job really! 🎨 Jacob and Skylar are SO wonderful! Two casually bi main characters?? The way they were SEAMLESS in their transition from friends to lovers??? The way things just CHANGED for them?? The FLOWERS? I LOVE THEM. They communicated SO well throughout the entire book, and it showed that that wasn’t really new for them! And they were FUN together! And they could be so vulnerable and honest with each other!! They already had such a good foundations and once they finally took the leap into a romantic relationship!!! Perfection!! 🎨 I loved the way Skylar’s grief was written. She was struggling, much like Hudson was in the last book. But I loved watching her figure it out, figure out how to move through her grief, with the help of Jacob and even with the help of her sister in the sweetest way. And Jacob’s journey with his dad was very much a secondary, or even tertiary storyline, but it impacted him so much. I also loved his journey too. There’s so some resolution and Skylar really helps and allows him the space to figure things out. 🎨 I loved how causal Kelsey wrote both Sky and Jacob?? It’s never mentioned that Sky had ADHD, but it’s clear she does. And she often talks about her sensory processing disorder, but just because that’s part of her every day life. And both Jacob and Sky are bi and there’s never any big declarations or anything because there doesn’t need to be?? Honestly it was perfect. 🎨 Thank you so much to Kelsey Schulz for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!!

However, lots of the twists were such letdowns. I also felt the ending was very predictable and not sure I loved the way it came together. Instead of a jaw dropping moment, it was more like a wait what moment. It filled the time & was also so cute 🤭 🏖️ I thought that Emma and Justin together was just precious. Their story was very cute and they fit together so well. Literally LOVE that Justin would do anything for her. I also loved how good of a big brother he was. Both my partner and I LOVED Emma’s best friend, Maddie. @alihazelwood jumped into the paranormal/fantasy genre and I am HERE FOR IT! Bride delivers on Hazelwood’s signature wit, one-of-a-kind characters, and captivating storytelling. She’s able to build a contemporary world with Weres (werewolves), Vampyers, and Humans within ~400 pages all while completely captivating me in a story I couldn’t read fast enough. Misery Lark is blunt, honest, a bit emotionally stunted and lives on blood (though shamefully enjoys peanut butter). Her growth into who she is and finding ambition she didn’t know she was missing makes her an instant book bestie. Lowe Moreland is an intensely loyal, protective Alpha that will instantly have you drooling and wanting to be apart of his pack. His soft spot for his younger sister and his reluctance to sacrifice anyone but himself makes for a drool worthy book boyfriend. 🫐🥞 BOOK REVIEW 🥞🫐 Till There Was You by Lindsey Hamerhoff is about an aspiring musician who writes an overnight hit about a chef’s blueberry pancakes. They fall out of touch and then reconnect and rekindle their romance. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and the concept of the story. I felt like I connect with Lexi pretty well as she is also in her early 20s. I felt like I understood where she was coming from in relation to the relationship she formed with Jake and where she felt like it was going to end up. 🥞🫐 SPOILERS 🫐🥞 There was a third act breakup that I didn’t really enjoy in the book and felt like communication could’ve been better, however I understand their big argument they had later in the book due to both of their lifestyles not meshing well together. In relation to the ending, I wish it had ended different than it did, but also found it cute and charming.
