Time to relax this wonderful evening after work with my girlfriend, and watch some more movies together! First up from 2016, "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies"! Emily recommended this film too me so naturally I was intrigued to check it out! I remember back when this film was out in theaters and thought it looked interesting even though I never got around to seeing it. I remember the 2005 film adaptation (one of many adaptations based off Jane Austen 1813 novel) of the Pride and Prejudice by Joe Wright that starred Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen. This film is certainly not that film and is based off a parody novel of the same name by Seth Grahame-Smith. Armageddon Time - Review 2022 I did not get into this film at all. Despite having a stellar ensemble cast the movie struggles to justify its own existence. My main issue with this film is the story. It just feels like a long aimless journey that abruptly ends, I felt like the movie never really started. The tone of this movie feels like a scattered mess, it’s clear that the movie is somewhat commentating on race, religion, wealth, and inequality in America but besides showing some examples and acknowledging these factors exist, it really doesn’t say anything else. I would not recommend this movie. My Son 👨👩👦 6️⃣•5️⃣ on 🔟 Directed by Christian Carion is an english remake of the French film "Mon Garcon". Now I watched it with a lot of expectations but sadly it had so little to deliver in terms of the plot. What begins on a promising note as a mystery thriller, ends up pretty average by the climax. A stunning visuals of the locale , breathtaking cinematography & music that captures your imagination. James McAvoy puts up a strong performance of anguish & desperation. Claire Foy although has little screen space utilizes it very well. The slow & crawling screenplay although manages to sustain the tension, serves boredom just as much. Moreover, the climax of the movie is quiet disappointing as it leaves us wanting for more. It leads nowhere & the plot holes 🕳️ and empty threads in the story & characters that shows up abruptly with little to no significance whatsoever decimates the chances of this movie being entirely likeable. It taught us the value of human life, privacy, equality, unity, the deep-rooted social class divide that exploits the working class. It shows how the lower class, either way suffer both the loss, also end up being exploited by the ones hungry for more. Laws & schemes that benefit those who made them or help make them. Aaron Sorkin has written and directed one of the best movies of the year with The Trial of the Chicago 7. The film sees a group of men on trial for conspiracy to start a riot after a peaceful protest turned violent at the 1968 DNC. I can’t vouch for historical accuracy because I honestly hadn’t heard about this case before, but Sorkin’s writing and the cast’s excellent performances made one hundred and thirty minutes quickly pass by. Certain moments had me laughing while others had me tearing up. This is one you shouldn’t skip over.
