Happy October! I'm so thrilled it's October, mostly because it means it's no longer September, with its relentless back to school hamster wheel and confusing weather. I hang on to summer for as long as I can every year, right through to the last sunny days of early September but I'm ready now for a month that knows what season it's in. New boots are ready for their first wear, candles are lighting, and I'm curled up with a brilliant book. An Invitation To The Kennedys is set in 1938 and is a fictionalised story of real life characters – the Irish American Kennedys visiting Anglo-Irish Guinnesses in London, trying to make sense of each other’s ways and attitudes. Throw in some Mitford sisters, an impending war, and the utterly stunning writing that is the hallmark of @emilyhourican and you're on to a winner 🙌 I'm absolutely loving it. PS re.
