Tonight I was challenged to make a diner classic a Patty Melt. I never ate one let alone made one! For this dish I did use fresh premade burger patties. Next time I will make my own patties. The burger shrunk and was hiding in the sandwich. If it's one thing I learned from watching countless hours of Guy's Grocery Games is the meat to bread ratio needs to be perfect. I know that I would get knocked points for having too much bread and not enough meat! As far as the flavors go it came out really good! I added butter to my hamburger patties and they came out full of flavor and really juicy! The ravioli is frozen. The sauce is from a can. Even the bread is fake its a hamburger bun. The meatballs are real I made those myself. . . My hodge podge of cooking created an amazing dinner. I watch endless hours of The Food Network. Guy's Grocery Games , Chopped and my new favorite Supermarket Stakeout I watch these shows the most. I enjoy the excitement and enthusiasm that each chef brings to the shows and I learn so much. . . . I am always inspired to try out new things or copy what I see on TV. I have had just as many successful meals as not so edible meals. Cooking takes time. It takes patience. It takes dedication. It can be loads of fun and just as frustrating. I learn from my mistakes and I improve on what I personally mastered. . . . A perfect blend of creativity and self expression. A piece of me on a plate. Get to know me with every bite. You will learn I love garlic. You will also learn I like to sneak in the heat. I can be loud and bold and also unsuspecting. . . Cooking was never something I felt I needed to learn nor improve on. I made everything from a box or frozen. Now I appreciate my meals because I took the time to prep all my ingredients. I took the time to look up recipes. I took the time to shop for the best and fresh ingredients. I did all that hard work just to have a moment of bliss as I savor my food knowing that I was capable of making something I never thought I would. The irony is I grew up in a restuarant and made a career in the resturant industry. . . Cooking is now one of my favorite things to do. 10 years ago I never would have said that, even 5 years ago. It was a necessity and now I can't imagine a day without me cooking at least one Homecooked meal. . . . So please join me on my culinary journey as I try new recipes. A perfect bowl of pasta is a beautiful thing. Homemade Fettuccine Alfredo! My favorite thing to do now is mince garlic with fresh herbs with a dash of red pepper flakes and a drizzle of olive oil.
