Siamo due magneti che si attirano in modo irrazionale e inequivocabile, e questo, caro Re Blu, le mette una forte strizza. ❞ “Black Queen” di Teresa Greco è il secondo volume della “Black Jones Series” (il primo è “Black Knight”) ed inizia con un vero e proprio incendio. Se pensate che le temperature siano alte, preparatevi ad immergervi in una vasca d’acqua gelida, perché i nostri due protagonisti, Deborah e Joris, ci faranno letteralmente andare a fuoco. Dunque, come avete potuto comprendere, lo spicy è a livelli altissimi! Come trope abbiamo i seguenti: “Age Gap”, in quanto Joris è molto più grande di Deborah e “Forbidden love”, dal momento che quest’ultima è una studentessa di Joris Evers che per di più è anche sposato. Deborah Jones è una ragazza giovane e ambiziosa, che desidera divertirsi e non avere regole. È una furbetta tutto pepe che sa bene come far impazzire un uomo. È molto legata alla famiglia, soprattutto a suo fratello maggiore Samuel, e per loro farebbe qualunque cosa. Joris Evers è un uomo affascinante, misterioso e con grandi occhi blu che faranno capitolare sin da subito la nostra giovane Jones. È un professore risoluto e deciso che fa rispettare le regole in aula. Ma, proprio a causa della sua dolce e provocante studentessa, finirà per tradire sua moglie. Sarebbe facile puntargli il dito contro, ma la realtà è che quest’uomo deve soltanto essere compreso, in quanto nasconde davvero tanto dentro la sua anima. Questa storia affronta il conflitto tra l'amore profondo per una donna e l’amore per un figlio, mostrando come le scelte che facciamo possono avere conseguenze profonde e durature. Joris Evers dovrà affrontare le conseguenze delle sue azioni e imparare a fare i conti con le sue debolezze e i suoi desideri più profondi. Teresa Greco è sempre una garanzia e, proprio per questo, non vedo l’ora di leggere l’ultimo volume della “Black Jones Series” che parlerà del terzo fratello, ossia il nostro bellissimo “Alfiere” Liam, di cui abbiamo già avuto un assaggio in questo libro!

Come nel libro di Samuel, anche in questo la famiglia gioca un ruolo determinante: Alex e Nicole sono le colonne su cui si fonda, rappresentano un porto sicuro per tutti i loro figli, forti di una unione che davvero è stata forgiata dal tempo e da tutto quello che hanno superato insieme. Mi piacciono sempre molto le parti familiari, dove c’è un confronto tra i genitori e i figli: al di là dell’esito traspare sempre un profondo affetto e una forte fiducia tra loro che li porta sì al confronto, ma anche a una soluzione condivisa che cementa ancora di più il loro rapporto. Per chi come me ha amato la trilogia degli Scacchi, chi si è appassionata alla storia di Alex e Nicole che ora sono “cresciuti” e diventati genitori. Aver letto di loro aiuta ad apprezzare le atmosfere di familiarità che Samuel condivide con loro, con i suoi fratelli e delle quali rende partecipe anche Sophie, perché sai il costo che hanno avuto, la fine del percorso che rappresentano. Per questo io consiglio di leggere prima la storia di Torre Nera e Regina Bianca, perché vi farà amare ancora di più questo libro, dove ogni obiettivo, ogni momento di serenità è stato conquistato a caro prezzo. Il supporto che Samuel riceve, l’accoglienza riservata a Sophie scaturiscono dal rapporto che lega Alex e Nicole, e che lega entrambi ai loro figli. Samuel è determinato e fragile e il paragone con il padre viene quasi spontaneo, anche per lui il punto di svolta è rappresentato dalla donna che alla fine sceglie e che letteralmente gli salva la vita. Sophie sembra inizialmente l’anello debole, ma le riscopriremo invece una forza e una tenacia che saranno determinanti nel suo rapporto con Samuel. Ho apprezzato tanto il modo in cui l’autrice ha introdotto alla tematica delle fobie e degli attacchi di panico, come abbia cercato di spiegarne le origini e come abbia fatto capire che il loro superamento quasi sempre esula dalla volontà di chi ne soffre. Sono patologie che non vanno sottovalutate o peggio ancora derise, chi ne soffre deve essere messo in condizione di chiedere in serenità l’aiuto che gli occorre.
