Look what seven years of love can transform 🖤 Sheldon was found after becoming feral for being left to fend for himself for who knows how long. He was terrified of humans and wanted nothing to do with them. He needed love. Affection. Space….space to roam and be himself, but space to feel safe and protected. Martha(buy a dog name), was just rescued this past weekend after spending 4 years at a puppy mill. If you remember, she was bought form this mill only to be returned 4 years later after being a house pet. The mill operator wanted no time and immediately forced her to breed for years in unthinkable conditions. Since arriving to her foster home, Martha received a well earned spa day and a bent ending supply of squeaky toys which she took to right away. She remembers what it’s like to live in a home. Our beautiful Maia has found her perfect forever home! Maya came to us last spring from a hoarding situation. She was very malnourished with a very sick filly at her side. After several months filled with lots of food and TLC, Maia finally began to trust in people. Once her filly was weaned, it was Maia’s turn to focus on building the skills to help her find a home, so we sent her to Katelyn Ellis for training in December. After a few months in training, we posted her for adoption on Facebook. We were soon contacted by Beth Carter who lives in Cortez. They had recently lost a horse needed a new friend for their Foxtrotter mare, also a rescued cremello. Beth had the experience necessary to continue working with Maia, but the best part was that she was already familiar with the special requirements of horses with cremello coloring in the intense Colorado sun. It was a perfect match! Maia stayed with Katelyn for an additional month of training, then headed off to her new home in southwestern Colorado. Cool Hand Luke got fitted for a harness because HE'S GOING INTO FOSTER TOMORROW!!! (And, yes, we are screaming.) 3. A new foster Kimisha came out wirh her sisters to meet some puppies. She chose Prosperous! 4. Ryann came by to deliver bags of toys and fun stuff her cat has shunned 😂, including this cute milk carton bed. 5. Brandon and Bullfrog, who is going into foster Monday! 6. Elizabeth, another big-dog foster, matched with Blue Bayou, who was beyond thrilled to leave the shelter life behind for a while. 7. Sinder looked so official and handsome in his harness, as he left the shelter with his foster Isabel. 8. Michele helped unload donations for the PAWS Atlanta yard sale next Saturday! 🦈 9. Nila napped in the cat cottage window. 10. Sueno (muy guapo) got a chance to play on the big dog off-leash area. He was pleased.

Pitufina is great with other dogs, taking on the role of a caring mom, she’ll step in if things get a bit too rough during playtime. With Pitufina around, you’re guaranteed smiles. She would benefit from a home with another friendly dog who can help her overcome her shyness towards peolple. When street dogs are picked up they are kept for a week in case their owners come looking for them, after the week is up they go into the pound and then hopefully adopted into a loving forever home. #HappyFriday 💚 Clayton. Hope your day is as carefree as his. His days weren't always so good. Almost 8 years ago, he survived the Clayton fire in California with his brother, Eugene. They were found running the streets after their home was destroyed. They were finally captured and lived in a very tiny chicken coop filled with chickens for weeks until we were contacted and took them in. Since then, his stresses and worries became less and less. Now, his biggest worry is making it to breakfast and lunch on time or where his next nap will be.
