Spring is, by far, the best season the desert has to offer. Dozens of flowers are in bloom, covering the desert in color, but the most vibrant I've seen are these hot pink flowers of the hedgehog cactus. I found these last week near the 7th Ave parking lot in the Phoenix Mountain Preserve, but I'm sure they can be spotted all over the city this time of year. Nows the time to get out and enjoy!

About 2 hours outside of Phoenix is this 4.8 mile loop around Watson Lake, in Prescott AZ. Great trail for begginers, small elevation gains without sacrificing any views. We caught the sunset as we finished for the day, and wow those rocks glow in the afternoon sun!

Many people have creative dreams. They fantasize about writing a book, building a business, or living a life of greater purpose. They want to live fully and actualize their potential. They don’t want a “what if” life. What sets apart the people who live their dreams vs. those who just dream? Three words: Now, Not How In 2015, I experienced a profound awakening through meditation. Because of what meditation did for me, I was called to share it with others. Here’s what I didn’t do… I didn’t ask: How am I going to make it happen? How will I succeed? How will I know I’m ready? Instead, I just started. I asked friends if they wanted to meditate with me. I guided them, and they would tell me how it was. I took notes, asked more friends, and tried again. I started a group on the meetup app where people came to sit with me. I recorded myself. I listened, I practiced, and I got better. I learned through experience. Taking action on teaching meditation built massive momentum. It’s how I uploaded meditations to Insight Timer in 2016. (Before I had any formal teacher training.) I owe my success to the principle of Now, Not How. (Hat tip to @noahkagan for putting this concept into words in his new book.)
