At the end of our Malabar Farm: Hike & Dinner Terri said it best when she said, "I've liked all of my hikes, but I think this one was my favorite!" We squeezed through crevices and scrambled over boulders in a cave, walked under a waterfall, basked in the beauty of the forest surrounded by wildflowers & budding green leaves, were challenged by the elevation changes for a good workout, learned the history of the area, and enjoyed the company of some incredibly interesting women. Plus, we had dinner atop Mt Jeez overlooking Malabar Farm and the surrounding area. We were even blessed by the sunset as we decended back to our cars. I'm very thankful for the opportunity to hike in so many beautiful places with such fun women. Photo dump from my first solo backpacking trip with three kids (and 26 weeks pregnant!) I was a little nervous/anxious for this trip but I knew it was something I could handle. I love pushing myself outside of my comfort zone and trying new things. I worked up to this point by taking this kids camping by myself and taking them backpacking with other adults. This was the next step that I really wanted to take. There is something so empowering about doing solo outdoorsy adventures with kids. I love being a strong & capable female role model for my kids. They had 100% trust in me and all I had to do was trust myself!

The rest of Day 4 in Iceland: Mývatn Nature Baths This was exactly what we needed to rejuvenate from a taxing first couple of days on our trip. With a few different bathing pools of different temperatures, a swim up bar, and sauna rooms, we were able to relax and enjoy the beautiful sunset while surrounded by snow all around. It truly was picturesque and an experience I’m so glad we had. Is the changing room experience a bit shocking to the system? Sure, but well worth it. I can’t compare to the popular Blue Lagoon as we were not able to go, but I would argue this one is potentially better due to price and the slightly less touristy feel I imagine you’d have.
