I understand that there are a whole lot of experts that know how equipment should be situated better than we do, but hear me out. I’ve been doing this most of my life and I try to take safety, efficiency, usability, and some aesthetics into account while placing them. And while I may not be very good at it if you ask some of the people that take it upon themselves to redecorate the gym for us, I had very good reasons for making the choices I made. If a member decides to rearrange the gym without our consent and someone gets hurt because of it, MadHouse Gym will be liable even though it wasn’t our decision. So to protect the viability of the gym for owners, staff, and members, we will have to remove the “experts” that expose us to those risks. We built this for everyone, so please don’t do something idiotic that causes us to have to protect ourselves by banning you. We’re correcting some decisions that someone made at Austell and after we check the cameras they’ll never have access to Austell again because they’ve shown that they can’t make good decisions while unsupervised. I don’t like posts with a negative tone but I love the gym and I love you guys, so I think it’s best to be vigilant about the rules and direct about what’s expected so there’s never a misunderstanding. Additionally, regarding Austell…the air conditioning is struggling but it’s not too bad. We have one of our two units down and we’re waiting to hear when our company can come out to resolve the issue, but it should be handled before the week is out. Additionally, regarding Mableton…one of the two toilet stalls in the men’s restroom will be out of order for a few days while we work on a solution for the failing plumbing there. It’s been a constant issue, partly because the toilet and all other related infrastructure is just so old. We’re having to re-pour the concrete to properly anchor the toilet, but the other flushing issue has been resolved. We’re on it, but finding a willing and competent plumber has been a real nightmare.
