7 Movement Flows To Open Up Hips & Upper Back Last night I did a sequence of flows to help everything move and feel better and put 4 mins on the clock for each one (you can do whatever you want and spend more time with the ones that make you move/feel better, and also adjust the time accordingly). I focus on breathing in end ranges to get more motion. Here’s the sequence I went through 👇🏼 ▶️ Thoracic Reach + Row/Rotation/Scap CARs ▶️ Childs Pose Lat Stretch to Spinal Roll ▶️ Side Lying Windmill ▶️ 90/90 Thoracic Push Up to Glute Stretch to Hip IR ▶️ Spider-Man Lunge w/ Rotation to Single Leg Downward Dog ▶️ Squat w/ Rotation Walkout to Downward Dog w/ Reach ▶️ Side Lunge to Cossack w/ Archer One thing I can say is that you’ll never regret taking 5-10 or more mins to move and do mobility. You’ll always feel better afterwards. It’s worth incorporating some “movement hygiene” in every day to keep your joints happy. Whenever I’ve trained hard for days or I’ve had life stuff that has “beat me up”, I do these longer sessions as recovery sessions (followed by aerobic capacity work). 💣 Jag kommer (så gott som) att sluta massera. Ett beslut som vuxit fram, och efter något års velande har jag nu bestämt mig. För att minska risken för framtida stora besvär med den hand som jag skadade akut på handbollsplanen för några år sedan, så har beslutet nu landat. Konstant hög och monotom belastning på leden varje stund av jobb är inte en hållbar strategi. Jag ser framåt istället och tänker att tumme och hand ska hålla en 60 år till ungefär 😉 Ett svårt beslut som tagit lång tid. Men nu har det landat. Siffran 12 är lite speciell i mitt liv, och nu har jag jobbat som massageterapeut i 12 år. Så det kanske är ett tecken. Nästan 12 år med eget företag på hemorten, i samma lokal och med ett helt hav av kunder som jag inte ens vågat räkna efter ❤️ Det här betyder ju en hel del. Men jag kommer att finnas kvar på Drottninggatan till sista juni. Vad som händer där efter får tiden utvisa. There are no magic exercises or secret sauce when it comes to improving pain. 🌟 In fact, we might want to focus more broadly at first and then only zoom in when necessary, layering complexity as needed so we can do the least amount to get the best response. 🔍 Also, for most people, just getting started is the biggest barrier. So consistency is the most important, followed by volume, frequency, and intensity, how to progress or regress exercise, then exercise selection. So we have many layers more important than the specifics of an exercise first. Especially when research seems to back the idea that exercise in general is helpful. 🏋️‍♀️ Pain is also fickle, and by posting on social media all the time of “quick” fixes gives the wrong impression. That pain isn’t a part of life and doesn’t teach people actual skills needed to better cope with discomfort and likely encourages more people to seek unnecessary care. 🛑 And given the high recurrence rate of self-limiting MSK issues, it might be better to target habits and mentality than hyper-specific “solutions.” 💭 Social pressures are also important for changing people’s behaviors and how they act. It’s a part of group dynamics. We want to fit in. So we are influenced by social media posts and belonging to a “tribe.” 🌍

Body was quite unco today. But I still managed to double 155kg, which I've never managed before. Second time round was a no go, only getting a single. Followed up with 2x6 at 130kg. ⬇️ FULL BODYWEIGHT CORE WORK ⬇️ SAVE & TRY & SHARE Here’s a full BODYWEIGHT core workout for you guys to crush and bulletproof that entire core. No equipment needed at all, just straight hard work Hitting the core from all angles and challenging our strength, stability and control with each movement. Don’t rush the workout, take it nice and slow and control each rep Form over anything here. Really focus on contracting the core with each rep and movement that you’re performing. Quality over quantity Perform each exercise for 20-30 seconds and perform 4 sets in total. It won’t take long at all, but that burn is going to be crazy. 💢I’ve had a few interesting conversations recently about accountability in personal and professional settings. When it comes to dealing with clients, it’s important to encourage them to be accountable for their involvement in the process from day 1️⃣.💢 💢Setting expectations and educating clients on their injury can help them become more autonomous and accountable. This does not imply a practitioner should sit on the sideline and do nothing. There’s still a lot we should be doing throughout the process.💢 💢If a client learns how to help themself for when they can’t see their therapist, there’s a higher chance that person will recover faster. WHEN SHOULD I STRETCH?? WHAT TYPE OF STRETCH SHOULD I DO- & WHEN SHOULD I DO THAT TYPE? STRETCHING TOOLS?? ✨ The stretching saga continues..✨ Something I used to majorly neglect, now I make it a priority. You will see for yourself when you get in the habit of stretching daily, What a difference it makes on how your body feels overall. 🧘‍♀️First, WHEN to stretch- a good rule of thumb is before & after a workout. If you don’t workout that day, a quick stretch anytime during the day works great! 🧘‍♀️Now, what TYPE to do and WHEN? BEFORE- a workout you should focus on ballistic & dynamic stretches only. AFTER- you should do static, PNF, active isolated stretching, etc. If you are unsure of what those are- see my last stretching post. Or google them. lol 🧘‍♀️LAST- as far as stretching tools, i HIGHLY recommend them! (see last picture for some ones I like to use- common ones) Foam rollers, cervical retraction device, myofascial release balls, bats (for helping get deeper into stretching), and the psoas rite. All super helpful!! Ideal Sitting Points  • Feet Flat on Ground • Knees at 90 degrees  • Hips All the way back in chair • Low back supported by chair • Pelvis neutral • Shoulders and Head aligned with hips There are a plethora of options regarding seating at work stations, dining tables and places of relaxation. Planera din träning 👋🏼🏃🏼‍♀️🏋🏼‍♀️ Var så trött efter jobbet 😴 Men jag hade bestämt mig att jag skulle träna (3 av barnen hade träning samtidigt). Hade en plan A, B och C. Det vill säga att jag skulle försöka jogga först 🏃🏼‍♀️om kroppen inte orka så får det bli lättare styrka 🏋🏼‍♀️ Om det inte heller gå få det bli en promenad🚶🏼‍♀️ Efter flera dagars vila plus min favorit glass före gjorde susen. Rekommenderar inte den typen av prefood 😛men jag tränar mest för den mentala biten. Jag behöver löpning för att må bra. Blev så överraskad att jag orkade ett långpass, plus lite styrka 🙏🏼 Pulsen blev emellanåt för hög då hade jag gåpauser. Det med att sänka förväntningarna på träning gjorde att varje km blev en bonus. Och att lyssna på en podd bidrog till att det blev mkt längre än jag planerat. Så nöjd och glad nu 💓 🙏🏼 Vi firar Valborg med att kolla på Champions League ⚽️😂 Ingen av oss orkar gå ut ikväll. 5 Magiska, MAGISKA kilometer 🙏🏻😍😭🤩!!! Jag är så lycklig så jag vet inte! Det kändes så jävla bra på rundan idag. Jag känner det i hela kroppen, det är nu jag kommer tillbaka 🥳🙌🏻👊🏻🔥🔥 Nu väntar dock den svåraste biten av hela rehabiliteringen. Den som de flesta känner igen sig i… Det är väldigt lätt att sköta sin rehab när man har ont, men när det onda är borta så börjar man slarva. Så viktigt nu att hålla fast vid rutinen och jobba efter den och inte gå på känslan. Prehab istället för rehab. Ännu svårare utmaning är att inte trycka på för mycket i löpningen nu, extremt svårt när det börjar bli varmare och våren bjuder på så otroligt inbjudande löparväder 🥹🙏🏻 Tur att jag har en plan och den ska jag se till att hålla mig till! When I said I was gonna have lots of pets once I was an adult I didn’t expect this! I never had any pets growing up and I had no idea when I got my first dog when I was 20 how many injuries they could have or how much I would worry about how to prevent them. And that’s why I am so passionate about prehab- doing physio now to improve fitness and prevent injury later in life. 13 years ago, I herniated a disc in my back while deadlifting on vacation. I couldn’t do ANYTHING with ease. Hell of a start to vacation. When I got home, I wound up at the doctor’s office, where he then asked me what I did. “Deadlifts? Those are terrible for your back.” Thankfully I went through some solid physical therapy that reintroduced me to hinging instead of avoiding it, and within a few weeks, I was lifting and living relatively normal again. In my opinion, the best “prehab” or rehab for an injury will involve doing a modified or regressed version of whatever movement you were doing when the injury occurred. It might seem against the norm, but why wouldn’t you want to re-train the movement pattern, not just to strengthen the tissues that were involved in the injury, but also facilitate the proper neuromuscular activation associated with it? We want to go through injury without de-training ourselves to oblivion. Rehabbing using patterns that involve the same mechanics of a movement will help to maintain (and potentially improve) the ease and efficiency of said movements; sequencing, using the proper muscles at the proper times in the right order, establishing effective and efficient movement, while potentially reducing the risk of future injury. The “ease” factor of this cannot be overlooked. One of the best ways to make someone feel safe when doing what injured them in the first place is to reintroduce activities that are similar, sooner rather than later. The more comfortable you are doing the movement, the more likely you can sit back and realize that the movement itself isn’t inherently dangerous (pain and injury are incredibly complex and the fact of the matter is, you probably will never the real cause of your injury), and you can let go of fear. Exercise not only involves our muscles, but also our nervous system, while also improving strength, and helping to restore the body in every day activity and in our recovery from injury. Beyond these benefits, exercise also happens to trigger a rush of endorphins (the “feel good” chemicals in our body) and can even decrease our sensations of pain.

🌟⏳ Getting Started With Mobility⏳🌟 Stretching and strength training alone will not prevent injuries. Context is essential across several areas: What movements are you frequently performing? Do you have the necessary range of motion for those movements? If you're unable to move as desired, is it due to lack of flexibility or mobility? What daily actions are you taking to progress toward your goals? These are critical areas to answer when developing a beneficial flexibility and mobility training program. If you already possess sufficient flexibility, continuing to stretch in that direction may be counterproductive. Training should focus on areas where improvement is needed. Simply maintaining current abilities isn't training; it's maintenance. A common cycle occurs when individuals achieve a goal, then neglect it as they pursue new ones.
