🎨 Fan Art Friday 🎨 This was one of those books that surprised me with how much I loved it. People had recommended it to me and I'd seen it all over bookstagram but I wasn't sold on it. When I finally read it I was like why did I wait so long?? 😂 it didn't matter that it was YA and I've mostly moved on from that genre. Ho letto il primo volume lo scorso anno, e gli ho dato una stella🤠. Perché ho comprato questo? Self sabotage. Scherzo, in realtà volevo vedere se col secondo volume migliorasse. Proprio no. 💗Evangeline, proprio come nel primo volume, fa scelte a caso. Jack le dice di non fare qualcosa? Lei la fa. Si mette in pericolo di continuo, e quel povero di Jack deve rincorrerla e salvarla perché Evangeline vuole solo essere salvata dal suo principe azzurro e vivere per sempre felici e contenti. 💔Evangeline è sposata con Apollo, che è finito in coma(?) per tipo 3 capitoli, si è svegliato e ha scelto la violenza. Evangeline si dice anche che deve ASSOLUTAMENTE stare lontana da Jack, perché lui è “cattivo”. Ovviamente non va così. 🍎In 300 pagine sono successe cose che sarebbero potute accadere in 3 libri, tutto di corsa e scritto male a parer mio. Non importa cosa succede, l’importante è sapere che sembra di essere in un bosco fatato e pieno di magia. Tutto ciò che accade nel libro è un minestrone di cose troppo veloci, nemmeno capisci cosa stia accadendo, e mi ha dato l’impressione che l’autrice si sia fatta una scaletta di cose da far accadere in un determinato capitolo, senza poi ampliare. Alcuni personaggi (interessanti), fuori dalla scena dopo 2 capitoli, altri completamente dimenticati. Per esempio (minor spoiler⚠️) che fine ha fatto Tiberius? Apollo come fa a liberarsi? E soprattutto, che senso aveva questo finale? Mi è sembrato solo un modo per tenere il lettore attaccato alla saga, perché in questo modo si compra il terzo libro per capire cosa accadrà. ❓Questo libro è stato un controsenso continuo, e qui lascio alcune domandine. Perché il sangue di Evangeline dovrebbe aprire le porte? (Ogni volta fa “no vabhe, ma il mio sangue apre le porte!”). Secondo quale criterio dovrebbe essere la prescelta se ce ne sono state altre prima di lei? E perché non approfondire QUESTO, piuttosto che farmi una lista dei fiori usati a corte? Jacks 🍎 Prince of Hearts "Hurt is what made me. " - Jacks I wanted draw Jacks in a way that brings out his character. So I drew his expression with his usual smirk(not sure if that's what it's called😅but the evil-looking smile). I also drew the blood tears and his apple🍎 I wanted to make him look like a broken-heart 💔 because he's described as apples and broken hearts. That's why there's a dagger(his dagger) stabbed onto the heart-shaped door, which is a symbolism of his broken heart. Evangeline was a captivating protagonist. I felt a connection with her character and admired her positive outlook on life. However, there were moments in the story where her trust was misplaced, which was frustrating to witness. Nevertheless, I appreciated her unwavering determination and hope, especially considering her past experiences. I found her trust in others endearing, as I share the same kinship to see the best in everything until proven otherwise. I OBVIOUSLY adored Jack in this series. He was such a multifaceted character that I found myself eagerly anticipating every scene he appeared in. His backstory was fascinating, and the more I learned about him, the more I appreciated his complexity. I couldn't help but feel emotionally invested in his journey throughout the story. Every time he appeared on the page, I was filled with excitement and anticipation. Overall, Jack was the heart and soul of this book, and I couldn't be more thrilled with how his character was developed. He was definition of morally grey and I loved that he’s a blond MMC! “I believe there are far more possibilities than happily ever after or tragedy. Every story has the potential for infinite endings.” I must say, the atmosphere of this story really struck a chord with me. Stephanie Garber has a way of writing that is so captivating and enchanting, it feels like a fairytale. However, as with any fairytale, not everything is fully explained or makes complete sense, which is the only reason why I cannot award it a perfect rating. Nevertheless, I was completely engrossed and thoroughly enjoyed reading it. 4⭐️ 1.5🌶️

[𝔸𝕧𝕚𝕤] Il était une fois un cœur brisé - Tome 2 : Et ils vécurent malheureux à jamais - Coup de cœur ♥️ Si le premier tome m’avait bien plu, il m’avait manqué un tout petit quelque chose pour que ce soit épique. C’est bon, avec ce tome 2, je l’ai trouvé ce petit quelque chose : il s’agit de mon cœur brisé 🥲 J’exagère à peine. Mon dieu, cette histoire est devenue ma nouvelle obsession ! (Est-ce que j’ai déjà fouiné pour trouver d’autres éditions? Tout à fait 😅). J’ai été emportée bien loin dans le Grand Nord en compagnie d’Evangeline et de Jacks. Ces deux là ont fait battre mon cœur plus d’une fois ! J’ai adoré voir la tension entre eux deux grandir de plus en plus. J’ai aimé en apprendre un peu plus sur le passé de Jacks, de Lala et de Chaos, même si on ne sait pas encore tout. Derrière ses airs froids et cruels, Jacks cache bien des blessures et j’avais très envie de le protéger. Et cette fin !! Non mais, elle est où la suite ? Les pages n’ont cessé de défiler, il était très compliqué de s’arrêter. Le « encore une chapitre » se transformait en 10 chapitres. Chaque fin donnait envie de continuer la lecture. 5/10 Once Upon A Broken Heart | [Book #14 of 2024] — PASS ✋🏼 YA FANTASY ROMANCE I had heard many reviews and postings suggesting Once Upon A Broken Heart. It received critical acclaim for an obvious reason, but unfortunately, the reasons weren’t so obvious to me. The story follows brokenhearted Evangeline Fox who enters a temple seeking out The Prince of Hearts, Jacks, the Fate of Love - in order to get the man she really wants to be with. That’s about as clear as the story remains. From that moment the plot is thrust into hyper speed and traverses changes, deviations, and confusing choices that left me bumbling to keep up with (or care about). One minute it’s her first love, then it’s Jacks, then it’s Apollo, and suddenly vampires are an intensely relevant piece of the story (whose lore weren’t mentioned for 250 preceding pages). Besides the plot issues, the writing just feels too elementary. Perhaps I’m being too critical coming from some other fantastic novels this year, but it was jarring how blasé, disinterring, and completely ridiculous the character’s thoughts, feelings, and reactions were conveyed. Again, I know I was “supposed” to care about these moments, but they fell so flat I breezed past them without batting an eye. I’m disappointed, because I truly wanted to enjoy this one and tried hard to connect with the lifeless protagonist, but it just didn’t work for me. Remember that this page is all about my opinion, I am not a critical reviewer or journalist, so take what I say however you wish. I’m giving Once Upon A Broken Heart a 5/10. It was forgettable, basic, and didn’t know what it wanted to be. It’s left me deciding whose heart was really broken: Evangeline’s? Or my own?
