My vintage finds from the Goodwill bins. I love the “lady running away from the castle” look on a couple of these books, & of course Barbara Michaels is a “must buy”! A total of $3 for the three. So this is the 2nd time that I have gone to this particular Goodwill, and it did not disappoint. By “not disappoint”, I mean apparently when a woman said over the intercom that I needed to step away from area 3 three freaking times, I was suppose to move my butt over to a different area. I guess the big bins get emptied, then filled up again, so u have to move out of the way. When I stood where I was at (in area 3), just about everyone was staring at me, then pointed at me. I shrugged my shoulders and put my hands up in the air. Then yelled “APPARENTLY I DIDN’T GET THE PROTOCOL FOR BIN SHOPPING BEFORE I CAME IN”!! I digress, I did get some other good finds such as a large stress toy for my daughter, a reusable bag, and some craft items. ❓ Question- do u ever shop at second hand stores? 🪻Belladonna review🪻 ౨ৎ I love reading and listening to audiobooks simultaneously and I'm so HAPPY I did it for this book. The audio is literally so good! The narrator nailed it so bad omg. Each character had a distinct accent and tone, I was never confused while listening! Voice acting is a real talent! I buddy read this one with the stunning @the.idlereader 💕 Review - 4.5 ⭐️ 𓏲 ๋࣭ Where do I begin! This book surprised me I don't know what I was expecting but this was a great surprise. The fantasy romance to the mystery and the GOTHIC atmosphere!!! It was all super well balance. I think it is the best YA book I read to this day. The book start strong I was immediately in the story. I love the FMC Signa, she is headstrong, determined and compassionate. I like that we get to see her developped those attributes through her thoughts and actions. She also grow as a character and a woman throughout the story. The MMC Death, was not the traditional dark and uncaring being on the contrary he cares deeply for the living and the dead and even more for Signa. Where Signa goes, Death's follows. They are well written main characters, they are believable and have a great dynamic. The pace is amazing it didn't drag and the chapters are short. The side characters really completed the story. With the mystery component all the characters were involved in a way or an other and made the storyline more complexe (in a good way!). I don't know if it's because I don't read thrillers but the plot twists really got me and I didn't suspect the culpit. I appreciated that the main story got resolved in the first book because the way it ended!! We're going to get on an other mystery to solve for the second book. 🕵🏽♀️ As you can see I annotated a little for the first time! I usually just tab, but I really love those 3 quotes so I tried it! J’ai la sensation d’avoir adoré ce livre autant que je l’ai détesté. 🗝️ Tanya arrive dans la famille Merritt dans le cadre d’un programme d’échange. Tanya est l’invitée parfaite. Polie, serviable, elle s’intéresse à tous les membres de la famille et fait le maximum pour être inclue. Peut-être un peu trop, d’ailleurs. Et si elle cherchait à prendre la place d’un des enfants de la famille ? Qui est exactement cette étudiante britannique ? 🗝️ J’ai adoré cette histoire pour plusieurs raisons : c’est absolument addictif ! J’ai dévoré ce bouquin, j’ai dès le début été embarquée dans cette histoire de folie que je trouvais passionnante. Je n’avais qu’une envie : terminer le livre pour connaître le fin mot de l’histoire ! D’autant plus que l’intrigue est vraiment folle et de nombreux cliffhangers sont là pour nous donner envie de poursuivre ! Une chose est sûre : on ne s’ennuie pas. MAIS, j’ai aussi détesté cette histoire pour plusieurs raisons : crédibilité ZÉRO. La manière dont Tanya ment se voit à des kilomètres, la façon de Natalie agit avec elle n’est pas normale (elle l’aime comme sa fille alors qu’elle vient de la rencontrer ?!), et les « ma chérie » à tout-va, non… c’était trop. En plus, c’est tellement mal traduit que ça pique les yeux (je ne me suis toujours pas remise de « casse-toi une jambe »). 🗝️ Du coup… mi-figue, mi-raisin. Katy Birchall is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. Her characters are so dynamic and wonderful and she writes different personalities so well. I loved that this book was a little bit of a rom com but mostly centered on female friendship and trust with a whole bunch of hijinks thrown in. It was more about finding yourself than finding a man and I absolutely loved it. The premise is delightful. Sophie, our stunning organized main character, is a professional bridesmaid. Not a wedding planner, but someone you bring in to help plan and run your weddings. She gets hired for what should be the wedding of the year, but the bride is a determined to make Sophie quit. I loved the movie when it came out but never got the chance to read the books 😅 so be prepared to take a trip down memory lane with me with these books 😍 The first book is basically the movie with very little deviation and I loved this! Since I was a big fan of the movie I was worried it was going to be very different 😅 I did get a more in depth look at some of the characters in the book than in the movie which I loved though. For those who haven’t watched the movie or read this book, this is a great YA paranormal fantasy with some angsty forbidden teacher-student romance elements. While very YA the world building is really intriguing and I loved it 🤩 I loved Rose in the movie.. her sarcasm and snarkiness was so funny to watch and it made me equally laugh in the book but she also annoyed me in parts 😅 I hated how controlling she was of Lissa. I mean I know they don’t have the typical friendship but I hated all of her spying and interfering in Lissa’s life. I loooooove Dimitri 😍😍 His and Rose’s verbal sparring was so fun to read!! I just really love this two and I’m excited to see how their romance unfolds in the upcoming books!! I loved Christian too in this book! In the movie he didn’t really spark 😍😍 vibes for me.. and I mainly think it’s the actor that was chose for him. Dom Sherwood was just not dark and tortured enough for me 😂 I did wish they were some chapter with their POV rather than from Rose’s POV since she hates him and her version of the story is very negative 😅 Overall, I loved taking this trip down memory lane 🥰 and even though the book is very YA with some immature parts I still enjoyed it. AOTD - I haven’t but I want to go to one to see how accurate they are. ➡️ swipe for the synopsis This is a well-crafted and entertaining whodunnit. The premise of this book is brilliant and I was hooked from the initial fortune telling. The first chunk of this book was really engaging but the further we got, the more we started to move away from the focus of the fortune. The characters seemed to fall into more of a predictable pattern with an odd ending. Like I predicted the ending but I was hoping that I was going to be wrong. The chapters alternate between Annie attempting to solve her great-aunt’s murder and Frances when she was a teenager. During these chapters, we see Frances meet her husband, Lord Gravesdown (I love this story line ❤️), and the disappearance of her friend, Emily. I actually preferred the older chapters. We have a great cast of characters. Annie, our leading lady, is fun, impulsive, smart, perceptive, and a budding mystery writer. Whenever I see or peeps reach out to me about Julie's work, it makes my heart stutter.... Best compliment! Julie's work for me person is right up there with Marie Ann & Jessie Walker. Am I comparing them to each other..... not even close. They all are so damn different in their writing. But for me, these three authors are just on THE TIP TOP TIER OF ALL TIERS for me for indie authors. And I will forever not shut up about each of them! Quick breakdown of Julie books: Love Lost Her Way: EXTREMELY dark. Every TW you can imagine pretty much. It's a journey for Carly that you just go through so many ups and downs with this entire story. Standalone. DOES end in a much deserved HEA. My Name Is Tryst: EXTREMELY dark and NO HEA. This story owns a piece of me. I've read it more times than I'll admit. I loveeee them. Tryst is Carly's brother from LLHW but can also be read as a standalone. There's Only After: Heavyyyyy topics. Beautiful book. I seriously loved every second through Lawson and Jackson's story. It's living and loving after loss type of story. It's AMAZING! DOES end with an HEA. This is book 1 for an ongoing/unfinished series Hurricane Hearts. All will be standalones within a series of characters. Poetry are the 3 others shown. Her poetry is BEAUTIFUL. She also integrates poetry into her books. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND reading any or all of Julie's work. Just please check TWs beforehand if you need those. SERIOUSLY. Life recently has involved an impromptu trip up to Scotland with work for 2 nights so took Thursday day off to do some activities at the Crieff Hydro hotel that literally offers everything from horse riding, rifle shooting, axe throwing, archery, mountain biking etc. 🏹☀️ and it was the most perfect little get away especially because the weather was just so beautiful the whole time 👏🏼⛳️ i also got to delve deeper into Magnolia Parks The Long Way Home and my goodness they’re toxic but I’m so here for it 😅🩷 also listened to My Dark Vanessa on audiobook on the drive to and from and wow… it’s disturbing to say the least. Not my fave at all, it was just so uncomfortable so I gave this a 2.5 ⭐️🫢 what have you all been up to?

L’univers créé par Amandine Peter est très original. Les espèces, les planètes, les nébuleuses, les vaisseaux... L’autrice m’en a mis plein les yeux, je n’ai pas réussi à lâcher ces livres avant de les finir. Concernant les personnages, j’ai eu un énorme coup de cœur pour Storm. Mystérieux et énigmatique, c’est un personnage comme je les aime. Son histoire est bouleversante. Et puis nous avons son opposée, Ani. Plutôt naïve au début de l’histoire, c’est une jeune femme courageuse qui se bat pour ses valeurs. En réalité, j’ai TOUT adoré de cette duologie : l’histoire, l’univers, les personnages. Tout cela agrémenté d’action, de suspense et d’amour. Each page turned felt like a prayer, hoping that he could take enough air into his lungs to keep going. Despite the pain, it was also incredibly beautiful, and I can't wait to see what comes next. 5/5⭐️ THE WAY I SOBBED SO MANY TIMES READING THIS BOOK!! can I give this book infinite stars?? this was the perfect send off to these characters and the perfect goodbye to some of my favourite books and characters, I’m so happy we got to have a little novella to see what they’re up to now and their little family moments that warmed my heart so much and seeing more of dad!thayer, god I love that man and how dotting he is to his family! the forrest moments made me sob so much, it’s such a bittersweet scene I literally had to put my book down, cover my eyes and sob for like 5 minutes, I was not expecting it! AOTD - I love listening to podcasts, especially true crime! Casefile is definitely my fave. ➡️ swipe for the synopsis Now this was a sad and frustrating read. My heart always breaks for victims and their families of unsolved murders. But what is really annoying about this story is that the murderer (I mean this is just mine and the authors opinion) was right there! The guy literally ‘discovered’ her body!! 😤 The investigation conducted by the police just felt flawed from the very start. It was like the cops never really looked like they were pursing it 😞 I hope this book can keep Christie’s case at the forefront of people’s minds. I also really hope Christie and her family receive the justice they truely deserve. Please give this book a read if you were in Colombus, Ohio in 1975. You never know what may jog your memory.

Als Astronomie-Enthusiastin war ich sofort von diesem Jugendbuch begeistert, das nicht nur die Sterne am Himmel, sondern auch die Sterne in unseren Herzen zum Leuchten bringt. Die Geschichte entführt uns in ein gemütliches Sci-Fi-Setting, das sich wie eine warme Decke an einem kalten Abend anfühlt. Inmitten von Abenteuern und galaktischen Entdeckungen treffen wir auf liebevolle Charaktere, die nicht nur über sich selbst hinauswachsen, sondern auch uns als Leser tief berühren. Die Romanze zwischen den Protagonisten ist ein wahres Slowburn-Meisterwerk, das sich entwickelt wie die zarte Blüte einer Blume. If you need me, I will be over here living my fictional life in this MC club @ashley_munozauthor has created! I never thought this would be my life but, I love the characters she has created for this series and Penelope and Jameson have had a piece of my heart since the end of Where We Belong! As a young girl, Penelope was brought by her mother to live with the Chaos Kings and with an unassuming offer of a pudding cup she fell in love with Jameson King. Unfortunately, Jameson felt as though he wasn’t the right choice for Pen, pushing her away from even a young age to give her a life outside of the MC club that eventually took over his life. In doing so, he pushed her into the arms of Luke, his VP and all around smarmy, bad guy. Now, pregnant with Luke’s baby and shunned by the club, Jameson is forced to seek out help from neighboring club, the Stone Riders, to ensure Pen’s safety. But, when that’s not enough, the only thing left to do for ultimate protection is marry her! I love it when characters have a history of “more” when they are kids and the flashbacks in this story gave me all the vibes I craved. Jameson has a sweet, yet protective nature toward Penelope I just adore in a story and Pen has an innocence about her that allows Jameson’s character to envelope her in the most natural way. Throughout the story you get the feeling these two were always meant to be together and their connection goes bone deep. But not everything about this couple conveys sweetness because their bedroom antics are anything but…so, if you’re wanting that spice, it’s definitely included. More than anything, I love how the series characters are intertwined in each book! Seeing Wes & Killian work together with Jameson to protect Pen, and their own ladies, was so great and Pen’s sweet relationship with side character, Harris, made me tear up a bit. And, seeing bits and pieces of Natty & Silas throughout this book has me seriously anticipating the next release! I can’t wait! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you so much to the author for this ARC!
