📝 Review Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Genre: Fantasy (vampires, heist) Age-Range: Young Adult Omg, this book! You can expect an atmospheric setting, found family, an amazing heist story with a thrilling plot twist, a character driven story, tension, vampires and an adorable kitten! I cannot express how much I loved that story and the featured characters. Immediately I fell for the whole cast. Although Matteo, in all his calmness and superiorness, would normally easily be my favourite - to me, Laith was even better (and I do prefer him with Arthie). Laith! I love this man with all my heart and desperately want him to end up with Arthie. He shows up at all the right moments and gets under my (and Arthies) skin. His looks, his words, his moves ... The tension was real! Well, and then came the ending, which totally caught me by surprise and now I'm sitting here and need, need, need the conclusion of this breathtaking duology! (and more of Laith of course) There is a great sibling relationship between Arthie and Jin. The love they feel for each other, the worries and the loyalty - I just loved how even lies and secrets cannot shatter the bond between them. And Matteo - excuse me? I don't see him as a love interest for Arthie but that doesn't make him less loveable in any way. His calm and classy character is so fun to read and he increases the level of every conversation. He is always on point. Over all the dialogues were great, the characters well developed and the story such a cool experience! The author did an incredible job. I listened to the audiobook and can only recommend it, the narrator was very much to my liking and a perfect fit for this story. Thank you to NetGalley and Pan McMillan for the arc! Unfortunately the best thing about this book is the beautiful edition that Fairyloot produced! I just didn't like the mishmash of fairytales that made the plot feel so disjointed. I found the characters annoying and Sadly I didn't enjoy this reading experience enough to warrant dedicating time to the continuation of this series. April moments 💌🪩🌷🕊️✨ What a whirlwind of a month!!! I feel like the months just keeping going by quicker and quicker, like wow time really does fly when you’re having fun 🥹 1. April 2024 Wrap Up Im April habe ich vier Bücher gelesen und ein Buch gehört. Der Monat begann mit Divine Rivals von Rebecca Ross. Leider konnte dieses Buch meine Erwartungen nicht ganz erfüllen. Dafür ist die deutsche Ausgabe vom @lyx_verlag ausgesprochen schön geworden. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Danach habe ich mich noch einmal an Haunting Adeline herangewagt und es nun endlich fertig gelesen. Erstaunlich aber wahr: Ich muss noch ab und zu an das Buch denken. Sollte ich Dark Romance vielleicht doch noch eine Chance geben? ⭐️⭐️ Als Nächstes hab ich dann Romancing Mr. Bridgerton gelesen. Pünktlich zum Start der dritten Staffel auf Netflix bin ich nun also ganz im Bilde und kann mit erhobenem Zeigefinger neben dem Fernseher sitzen: „AlSo Im BuCh IsT dAs Ja So UnD sO…“ ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Lore of the Wilds war für mich eine absolute Überraschung diesen Monat und gleichzeitig das erste Buch der neuen Romantasy Buchbox von @fairyloot. Hier war ich wirklich gut unterhalten und empfehle das Buch allen Fans von ACOTAR und These Hollow Vows. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Mein letztes Buch im April war Song of Silver, Flame like Night. Gleichzeitig war das Buch mein erstes Hörbuch seit Langem. 🪻 𝔥𝔢𝔩𝔩𝔬 𝔞𝔤𝔞𝔦𝔫 🪻 Back on my reading game, and back on my posting game (I hope) 🤞🏻🤞🏻 I’ve missed posting, but life has gotten far too hectic for my liking, so my reading has been a lot slower paced lately than I’ve been used to in the past few months and has taken a backseat to deal with other priorities. I just finished this and needed us to take a moment to appreciate this edition, because it’s absolutely stunning! These edges one of my absolute favourites from my collection. This book didn’t quite make it to the 5 star hall of fame for me, but I really enjoyed the beautiful, lyrical writing, the gothic vibes and of course, the sentient house 🖤 I was feeling like a story that would completely envelop and sweep me away, and while it did deliver in that regard, I felt it a bit too long and could’ve done with a touch more editing to keep some chapters from dragging. 💬 What are your last, current, and next reads? I finished The Bridge Kingdom in April and have been making my way through House of Earth and Blood the past few days. I'm almost to the halfway mark! It's okay thus far; the plot is intriguing, but I don't feel a special affinity with any of the characters. I'm not great at sticking to a TBR but I'm really hoping to get to Empire of the Damned next, given how much I loved Empire of the Vampire. La sinopsis me llamaba mucho la atención y es un soplo de aire fresco entre las últimas novelas de romantasía “New Adult”, que es lo que he recibido lo últimos 3 meses con mi suscripción mensual 🥹 Si os gusta el NA, pues genial, pero yo que le tengo un poco de manía… En fin. 🕯️”Evocation”, de S. T. Gibson (autora de “Un legado de sangre”). Esta es la primera entrega de una saga. O eso he leído. Ya veremos 😁 🕯️Sinopsis: “Cuando una maldición familiar amenaza la vida del medium David, este debe reencontrarse con la única persona en la que siempre ha confiado: su exnovio hechicero Rhys, lo que significa que deberá abrir su corazón a Moira, la mujer astróloga de Rhys.” 🕯️La simbología de la edición relacionada con el tarot, parece ser que tiene su peso en la historia, siendo como es la ilustración de la cubierta la carta “El colgado” me parece una maravilla. Al final incluyen una explicación de algunos arcanos mayores, tres en particular que no voy a comentar por si son spoilers. Por cierto, es una edición preciosa. Creo que me gusta más que la anterior aunque son tan diferentes que no podría elegir. Y, ¿qué me decís de la sinopsis? Promete y mucho 🥹 Me ha sido imposible enseñar la sobrecubierta reversible en estas fotos, así que subo otra que he tomado ahora mismo en mis historias. 🌟 Unboxing de la box YA Fairyloot d'avril! 🌟 C'est ma 5e box de Fairyloot, et c'est clairement ma favorite ! :D Elle est splendide ! Les items sont super beaux, et soit pratiques, soit parfaits pour des bookaddicts ! Et ce livre... Je ne m'en remets pas tellement il est magnifique ! Le jaspage est sublime, la dust jacket refaite d'une manière super stylée (comparée à la couverture d'origine que je n'aimais pas du tout). La couverture principale est juste parfaite avec ces nuances de couleurs. Et les pages de garde donnent hyper envie de commencer la lecture immédiatement. Bref, un gros coup de coeur sur cette box ! 💫 Favorite Special Editions 💫 Do you read your fancy special editions of books? Most of the time I actually do! Though they don’t leave the house and the only person allowed to borrow them is my fiancé 😅 But a select few are really just eye-candy (especially if they are ones that make me cry or angry which is typical for books I adore). Today’s the day! I read the synopsis in the bookstore, and I was immediately sold on based on the fact that it's set in Minnesota alone!
