There are alternatives for practicing at every stage of your life. Bigger and bigger world-shaping, and earth-shattering events are occurring with rapid frequency. This past week has put some heavy possibilities in motion, in an already fragile world. I feel compassion for all who are suffering as a result of conflict. Everything around us is transforming to make way for new systems. In nature, destruction is always paired with creation. At this time, I am fully accepting of our collective fate, because we have the option to choose peace. We are living through the time that represents the graduation ceremony for homo sapiens. We are not slated into the future, in our current form. Violence is not new, in fact, it's as old as the hills. It's in yours, and my DNA and the next person's DNA. It is intragenerational, and part of our nature. It comes from an old world, with lesser technology, where people’s brains competed for calories, status and mates. The flesh and meat in between our ears is an organ structured to run on these primal, outdated incentives. Our brains need an upgrade in consciousness, to match the species wide need for large scale cooperation. We stand before two timelines…. In the new world, the one where Sapiens survive and thrive in, we choose peace and cooperation as the only option. We see "brother and sister." In our current and simultaneously outdated world, with weapons of exponential destructive force, orchestrated division, and the view of "other" and "us vs. them", life once more reduces itself back to the cellular level. We do have a choice. The individual, through practice, ritual and study, can hold the vibration of peace, and radiate peace, even in the darkest of times. Let us choose peace. This was a great opportunity to celebrate the Redcross for their fantastic work in reaching people in crisis around the world.
