life has changed. i am not the girl i was 8 years ago. in these past 8 years, i kept trying to be the same girl who was head over heels for someone who couldn't love her back. but life changed, i changed. i don't stand on the balcony in the scorching heat just to have a glance of anyone, anymore. i don't tell everyone everything, like every little detail about my every encounter with any particular person. not that i'm having any, but i was the person who used to do that. and to no surprise, i waited, i waited a lot for a person, all alone & so much that i forgot what being with people felt like anymore. i started liking my own life as it was. i liked being alone, reading my fictions, writing about everything that i felt, learning and just being my self in my own shell, so much that i almost forgot that there is a world outside that shell. people talk about manifestation and how the universe plays it's own games to make things happen in your life & that everything that happens has some kind of reason behind it. this theory has being romanticized way too much in the modern world, but i never actually cared about it. i wasn't that person... until one day i realised why all of it was happening. i can make a thousand different stories of what happens next in my life based on what has already happened. it's all so pretentious. but but but... 8 years ago, i never knew i'd be standing where i am right now. i never knew all of what happened could ever happen. and now, when i look behind, i feel like everything was meant to happen the way it did. everything, every moment, good or bad, every person, loved and lost, every habit, adored and quit, everything, just sat right where it was meant to fit, like the jigsaw puzzle we used to play when we were kids. and even though, i have a mere idea of what is going to happen in the future(ofc the stories), i would love to wait and believe in whatever the destiny is going to bring to the table. - mariyam amjad.
