Have you ever read a romance book where the FMC goes back to the hometown she hoped to avoid and she ends up running into the man who broke her heart in highschool and thought to yourself "hmmm this book is missing witches, magic, ghosts, and plants?". Well guess what, I have the book for you! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Y'all, I started this book at 2pm and finished at 9:30pm the same day. I swear this book was written for me, I almost gave it 6/5 stars purely because of that. But then I would have felt bad for the rest of my favorite books 😂 (can you tell that I was the kid that either slept with all or none of my stuffed animals?) ANYWAY. I seriously loved this book. It was so cute but also full of heart and depth. The twist at the end was low-key unexpected. I mean I started to suspect but not the way the writer went about it, if that makes sense. But, I mean it's a book in the modern world with witches who have special powers so I guess I can't be too surprised. I adored Sage and Tenn. Literally so freaking cute. The family was dysfunctional (small spoiler) but I'm happy they mostly resolved everything in the end. I also appreciated that they acknowledged they have a long way to go in full healing. This will be one I for sure recommend and will be adding to my personal library ASAP. The book that got me back into reading 🥰 I read it for the third time as one of my February books! My goal is to reread the series and Throne of Glass series this year. ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 This book is good but it's my least favorite in the series. The world building is incredible! It was my first book with fae and made me fall in love with fantasy. Now I pretty much exclusively read fantasy 😂 I love the way SJM writes and she's by far one of my favorite authors. Honestly it's hard to write a review for this because so much of my love for this book is based off the rest of the series and I want to try to keep it spoiler free. 🫣 I did start this in read through in audio form but had to finish it reading my physical copy. I wanted to finish it by the end of the month and it was quicker for me to read it than listen. I want to try more audiobooks this year, but I think I'm going to try the graphic audiobooks to see if it keeps me more engaged. I LOVE reading the MMC's perspective and this was perfect 🤌🏻 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 Honestly I don't really have anything negative to say about this. I loved A Touch of Darkness but Persephone got my nerves a little. But in this it was all from Hades perspective so it was a 5/5 for me! I felt like it brought more depth to Hades to hear his POV and how he thought about Persephone. Pretty simple, straight to the point, I think. 5⭐ - I couldn't love this book more. I was deeply invested into this and loved everything, from the characters, the world and the plot. The story stays with me long after I've finished and I will always recommend it. 4⭐- I really liked this book but something was missing either in the characters, the plot or the world building. I would still recommend it because I was hooked. 3⭐- I liked this story well enough but I thought it was average. I'm glad I read this and I would mention it to others interested in the story/genre. 2⭐- I didn't necessarily dislike this book, I stayed hopeful through and through but, in the end, this wasn't for me. 1⭐- I had a hard time reading this book. Nothing managed to keep my attention. It wasn't what I thought and I gave up. As for the half stars, there were elements that pushed it higher but didn't quite hit the mark.
