A P P E L L A T I O N J’ai fait le choix aujourd’hui de vous présenter l’appellation #PicSaintLoup, cette #appellation est née en 2017 connue tout d’abord en tant que “AOC Pic Saint Loup” et aujourd’hui en tant que “AOP”. ⭐️ Elle englobe un périmètre de 5800 hectares sur 17 communes dans l’arrière-pays #Montpelliérains. Il s’agit de l’appellation la plus au nord du Languedoc. 🌿 Les vins du #PicSaintLoup doivent avoir dans leur assemblage au moins la moitié de la #Syrah complétée par des cépages comme le #Mourvedre, le #Grenachenoir et parfois du #Cinsault, #Carignan et quelques autres cépages. 🍇 Les raisins blanc quant à eux sont classés en AOP Languedoc. Les vins sont réputés pour leur fraîcheur mais aussi une certaine gourmandise et une belle complexité. On retrouve en bouche les saveurs de garrigues (Thym, Romarin…) représentatif du terroir. Zocker, Gruner Veltliner, Edna Valley, Ca. 2017 . Having had this before and enjoyed it, I grabbed a bottle off the shelf of a high-end grocer. . Got home and only then realized it was a 2017. . Eight year old California Gruner gave me pause….but what the hey, let’s open it.. . Dang good, even at eight years of age.. still alive and relatively fresh. The time in bottle had rounded the edges a bit, smoothed out what had been a wine with screaming acidity. . Fruit flavors of citrus and ginger. Nice minerality. Still strong acid line. Medium body. Totally enjoyable. . Just goes to show, you never know! Countless times I’ve been surprised - so I try not to pre-judge and just taste. . Pasquetta, siamo a casa a Genova, ma virtualmente ospiti dei nostri più che cari amici Sedalis, la coppia più figa di Mamoiada. La granazza ci scuote sempre, ma a questo giro scegliamo delle vigne non di primo pelo e con un passaggio nel legno di casa Sedilesu. Stappiamo questa ambra di 7anni, per anestetizzarci dagli incombenti impegni lavorativi, ma il denso corpo e la qualità del prodotto amplificano più che mai i nostri sensi. Il generoso grado alcolico, smascherato solo dagli aromi di frutta gialla sotto spirito, si innesta in una originale texture, la cui trama, ha fili dorati, intrecciati da albicocca disidratata, dattero, miele di castagno e mallo di noce. La gentile mineralità, insieme alle sfumature saline e di macchia mediterranea, ballano assieme, a tutto “tondo”, concedendo nel finale, lo spazio per esibirsi a uno spassoso tannino, che amplifica le note appena elencate.
