2004 Jamet Côte-Rôtie Côte Brune - Wow! Incredibly intense nose with lots of fruit, dark cherries, blackberries, olives, a hint of smoke, and a bit of underwood. Good acidity with similar flavors on the palate. Long finish. It feels very balanced, complex, yet still also quite primary. There is clearly lots going on and it only shows small signs of age. Outstanding wine that should be absolutely incredible in another 10-15 years. Still, it’s crazy good now and there’s no shame in opening it. 2014 Jamet Côte-Rôtie Côte Brune - A bit muted on the nose, but with air some dark fruit, brine, cherries, and a bit of leather emerged. Nice acidity on the palate and generally much more open with dark fruit, olives, bacon and classic Cote-Rotie flavors. Nice finish. This is really promising, but needs more time. It actually has quite a bit of power must most of it is hidden away and only emerged slowly with air. François Rousset-Martin Côtes du Jura Mémée Marie 2018: 40-year-old Chardonnay and Savagnin vines growing in the town of Lavigny on gray and white marl soils, this bottling is named after Francois’ grandmother. This wine is a delicate and graceful hybrid of winemaking styles in the Jura. An equal blend of Chardonnay and Savagnin, where the Savagnin is not topped off and ages sous voile for 3 months before blending with the Chardonnay in stainless steel tank, where comes together for 11 months. Francois Rousset-Martin comes from a long line of winemaking family as both of his great-grandfather and grandfather were vine growers in Jura. Growing up in Burgundy, Francois would often spend his time between Burgundy and Jura helping his father while making wine. After graduating from his oenology degree, he started to make wine in Southern Rhone as well as in Languedoc. He eventually returned to Jura in 2007 to take over the family vineyard and to make his own wine in the village of Nevy-sur-Seille. Bret Brother’s La Soufrandiere Saint Veran La Bonnode, 2021 White Burgundy Wine Citrus basket with white fruits and saline : it’s dry , elegant and refreshing - first time and first year I have tried, nice to try 😋 Philippe Pacalet’s Pommard 2020 Well, it’s PP’s wine : complex and delicious wine- great QPR but hard to find. Gets better by time. Defines Pommard Burgundy with its muscular and rich characteristics. 13.5% alc.doesn’t feel like it. Looking forward to taste next vintages 😋 Jerome Galeyrand’s Fixin Le Champs Des Charmes 2019 I still have two more different appellation JG yet when I put my eyes on that bottle, a tipsy teen Steve ordered it before me and it ended to be the last bottle in Eddy’s. I’m glad he was so generous that, seeing my tearing eyes ( with anger and jealousy), he gave me a full glass of it 😬 then one more 😅Amazing bouquet! I sniffed it till the last drop in my glass. Berries and Rose packed in glass with spices: juicy and has long delicious finish. I haven’t been disappointed by any JG bottles yet, and with its great QPR : if you see, get it. I’m curious about 2021 very much - It gets better after a while in glass but from first sip till end, it’s ready to drink and enjoy now and later future. Yum! Thank you Steve ( if you read till that point, a small story about Steve: he introduced himself to me 3 times at that night and shaked my hand each time 😅) now I am getting doubts - is his name really Steve ? 🤣 Domaine Regis Rossignol Changarnier’s Volnay 2019 Him giving his whole life to wine world and 2019 is the last vintage- that’s it. Les châteaux prestigieux s’en sont mieux sortis car ils ont eu plus de petites mains pour vendanger. Rosie Red 2022 by Domaine Dandelion. Unique, pure, and elegant Pinot Noir with a nice depth. The color is a deep deep pink. The nose started off a bit muted before opening up with notes of raspberry, strawberry, dried roses, and forest floor. Tart on the palate with notes of cranberry, cola, and cherry. Short length finish. Like a walk through a wild forest, this wine was a lot of fun. Nonetheless, it’s also a bit disappointing considering all the hype. Curious to try other cuvées to see how they hold up. Domaine Dandelion was created in 2016 by Morgane Seuillot in Hautes Côtes de Beaune. She started with one hectare of vines before slowly expanding around her house. She works with her partner Christian Knott who is the former cellar master at Chandon de Brailles. Their work is as natural as possible. No sulfur in the vines, minimal doses of copper, plowing with horses, and natural treatments. The wines are made with no additives.
