Chase Me by Tessa Bailey 3/5 stars I liked this book. Both main characters were interesting, and all of their friends were cool, too. But it lost two full stars for not feeling finished and the brother in-law situation. I’m assuming Roxy and Louis will be in the next two books of the series, so I think that will help bring them full circle. It definitely felt unfinished, though. Loves: - The singing telegram thing is hilarious - Love his reasoning behind being a lawyer. Definitely shows he’s more than what Roxy originally thinks about him - Both sets of friends are awesome. I’m really hoping they will all hook up and be the next two books of the series - Quite a few pretty funny bits throughout Critique: - veeeerry unhappy with the whole brother in-law situation… Louis better turn himself around and fix that by the end of the book - It feels unfinished. I was expecting an epilogue or at least more of a final feeling to the book. It just kind of ended as soon as they got back together. My favorite girl is upset with me. I was just so happy to be outside with her that I jumped around and so excited that I bit her hand instead of giving it the kiss I meant to do. The bite made her drop my leash & I thought we were going to race. So I took off across the lawn in full zoomie mode. But my leash was still attached to my harness, so the bag holder smacked the pavement, popped open and the bag roll spilled out. Favorite was getting close so I whipped across the driveway and around to the backyard. We played a great game of chase, but she cheated and tackled me. I thought it was fun, but she stormed me into the house and didn't give me a treat. Seriously? 🌺 book review 🌺 CHASE ME BY TESSA BAILEY 4.25⭐ This is the story about Roxy who is a college drop-out and has moved to New York to fulfil her dreams of becoming an actress. But she is running out of money and to make some cash, she signs up to perform singing telegrams. Her first customer is a lawyer named Loius McNally and he was not prepared to see a giant bunny in his doorstep serenading him. But he is immediately compelled by this woman in a bunny costume but Roxy leaves Louis wanting more. Roxy doesn’t need a spoiled boy but Louis cannot help but chase her all over the city. I had such fun reading this book. I was not expecting to enjoy it so much. This was a light, funny, and a spicy book which I had a lot of fun reading. I liked Roxy and Louis as the main characters and how they both were passionate about their vocation. Their chemistry felt genuine and sizzling. I also liked Roxy’s friendship with her flatmates. Was this the best romcom ever to be written? Probably not. But this book was highly entertaining and I liked the romance a lot. Sometimes all you need is a light breezy read and this book was just that. I would definitely recommend this book. I personally loved reading it. ❓ How many books have you completed so far in April? Roxy kept frustrating me with her inner feelings and being insecure about how Louis feels about her…. BUT I also know so many people think like that in relationships so it was definitely relatable. Chase Me by Tessa Bailey ⭐⭐⭐ I had got a prompt for give a book a 2nd chance. I read this last year & I absolutely hated it. I gave it like 1 star & I really should have dnfed. This time around I bumped my rating to a 3 star. It's a little novella where Roxy is a struggling actress. To pay her bills she takes odd jobs including sing a grams. That's where she meets lawyer, Louis. The plot is interesting, but it's an instalove book & if you know me, I hate instalove. This time around, I got more into the story & characters.
