Il suo scopo diventa dunque quello di raggiungere per primo luoghi in cui sono avvenute tragedie, aiutato dall'assistente Rick ( #RizAhmed) e dalla giornalista Nina ( #ReneRusso). Il suo senso etico però inizia a venir meno e l'ossessione nel dover arrivare per primo lo porterà sulla cattiva strada. Un viaggio nella mentalità di un uomo disperato per cui inizialmente facciamo il tifo, ma che supererà pian piano i limiti della decenza, in un'ascesa verso la follia tipica dei #thriller psicologici. Interpretazione eccezionale di Gyllenhaal, inquietante e pazzo più che mai, ma il povero aiutante Rick si aggiudica il premio di mio personaggio preferito, nonchè forse l'unico vero "buono" della storia.

En el aspecto visual tiene un ritmo y una fotografía inspirada en algunos tramos en el cine de Michael Mann, captando la vida nocturna de Los Ángeles. La música de James Newton Howard acompaña sinuosamente la trama, colándose en la acción como el protagonista se cuela en los sucesos con su cámara. Jake Gyllenhaal (Prisioneros) nos regala otro de sus mejores trabajos con una actuación brutal. My thought about this film, The scale is bigger than the previous film, and the action is more showy due to the theme being a battle between gods. Randomly started rewatching Lethal Weapon 2 which led to rewatch Lethal Weapon 3 and then why not Lethal Weapon 4! LW2 will forever be my favourite of the series with the perfect mix of action and comedy and Riggs going crazy. But I like LW3 more every time I watch it, the chemistry of the cast is just perfect. When Louis Bloom, a con man desperate for work, muscles into the world of L.A. crime journalism, he blurs the line between observer and participant to become the star of his own story. Starring - Jake Gyllenhaal, Riz Ahmed, Rene Russo, Bill Paxton, Sharon Tay, Rick Chambers. This was a recommendation from @ninjasnowman_reviews Honestly what an incredible film. I had heard about it over the years and saw the occasional clip but seeing it in it's entirity was amazing. The story was really interesting, as we see Lou (Gyllenhaal) is a guy that does whatever to make ends meet, he happens upon a crash and sees a guy with a camera filming mentioning news studios will pay for the footage. This is a eureka moment for him as he realises, he could do this and make tons of money too. So the movie delves into how far he'll go. Something i really loved about this film is the character of Lou. He is undoubtedly a sociopath and the portrayal of sociopathy was so accurate it was legitimately frightening. But it made him so unpredictable because morals essentially don't exist for him, it's get the footage at any cost and regardless of any law. But i think too it highlighted an issue that is still prevalent today in media, the fact that Lou did what he did because there is a market for it, as the media too generally don't care about morals and just want to be first to a story. So they are essentially feeding the monster that is Lou. I have to also comment on the cinematography of this film, the soundtrack too!. It was insanely good, it builds tension and shows excitement perfectly, the car speeding scenes especially are immense because of this. Standouts - Jake Gyllenhaal was incredible in this. Legitimately he was terrifying as Lou. It was the scenes you would see where you could tell he wasn't acting human like a normal person would, he was performing as a human and it made Lou really unsettling as a character. Bottom line, a fantastic movie. The story was such a simple one but done in such a way and told through such a unique character that you can't take your eyes off it. A must see!. New arrival! In the Line of Fire (1993) by German director Wolfgang Petersen († 12. August 2022). The 2160p/HDR UHD presentation is terrific and may quickly be identified amongst the format’s elites. The HDR color grading only solidifies the image’s excellence. The level of color punch and vividness on display is startling. In the Line of Fire’s new Dolby Atmos soundtrack is a beautiful example of a well-engineered audio track receiving a boost from additional channel output. The presentation is sublime for its clarity and fullness and attention to even the smallest details. Ennio Morricone’s score presents with great clarity and attention to detail. Terrific film, terrific disc. This is one of Eastwood’s best movies and this is also one of Sony’s best UHDs. It’s a stunner, visually and aurally alike. Fans are going to be beyond delighted. Very underrated movie. This one seems to fly under the radar for Michael Keaton. One Good Cop (1991). Three small girls are left without a home after their father, Stevie (Anthony LaPaglia), is killed in the line of duty. His partner, Artie (Michael Keaton), and his wife (Rene Russo) choose to adopt the children, but the government thinks their living quarters are too cramped for a family. Without enough money for a down payment on a house, Artie robs drug lord Beniamino Rios (Tony Plana). I’m surprised I hadn’t watched VELVET BUZZSAW (2019) until this evening considering it reunites writer-director Dan Gilroy with his NIGHTCRAWLER (2014) actors Jake Gyllenhaal and Rene Russo, a film of which I’m a huge fan (and for which Jake’s performance should have been nominated for an Oscar, damn it. 😡) Set in the contemporary art scene of L.A., VB begins as a very different movie before heading in a ‘supernatural horror’ direction. Aesthetically, this movie looks great, and I’m not just referring to Jake’s various states of undress, with solid performances from its talented cast, and a really interesting script. From a narrative and visual perspective, ‘Thor: The Dark World’ displays overall cohesion and creativity to agreeable extents, expanding its universe with intriguing world-building and enriching its characters with familiar emotional perspectives, though a lesser ambience and flow, inconsistent focus, and more blockbuster bombast rather than cinematic marvel woefully mark the film with a seal of entertainment instead of genuine authenticity. As such, the hammer strikes its target with lesser strength than hoped. . But that's just my opinion about this film guys (and girls).
