Italien: Starker Export trotz schwächerem Konsum Der Export italienischer Weine in Länder außerhalb der EU hat in den ersten beiden Monaten des Jahres 2024 stark zugelegt. Das gab das Osservatorio UIV-Vinitaly bekannt. So wurden im Vergleich zu 2023 17 Prozent mehr Wein mit einer Wertsteigerung von 13 Prozent ausgeführt. Frankreich exportierte im selben Zeitraum fünf Prozent mehr Wein, der Wert ging um sechs Prozent zurück. Die stärksten Zuwächse erzielten italienische Weine in Großbritannien (+ 22 %), Japan (+ 40 %), China (+ 33 %) und Russland (+ 116 %). Auch aus Nordamerika wurden deutlich mehr Bestellungen verzeichnet. Getrübt wird das Bild durch Meldungen von rückläufigem Konsum in den wichtigsten Märkten, Italien und den USA. Laut Marktforschungsunternehmen gingen in Italien die Weinkäufe im Groß- und Einzelhandel in den ersten elf Wochen des Jahres um drei Prozent zurück. In den USA sank der Konsum von italienischem Wein im Januar und Februar um insgesamt 7,5 Prozent, davon vier Prozent in der Gastronomie und 8,5 Prozent im Handel. Der Generalsekretär des italienischen Weinverbands (UIV), Paolo Castelletti, kommentierte die Zahlen: „Zwei positive oder negative Monate reichen nicht aus, um die zukünftigen Strategien der Branche zu skizzieren. Aber das Marktsignal, das aus dem Export kommt, ist sicherlich positiv, ebenso wie der Vorsprung gegenüber den Wettbewerbern. Hoffentlich kann all dies mittelfristig konsolidiert werden." Once all was calm again, I sat down, put my feet up and took a sip of my glass of what I thought was going to be a nondescript fizz but then stood up and checked the bottle and researched it immediately⚡️What my lovely friend had brought with her was a bottle from @camelvalleyvineyard just a few miles away from where she lives. Fantastic lineup of wines last night 💥 My favourite? Well #1 spot for me went to the Zind-Humbrecht. Petrol, lemon, white musk aromas with quite a full body weight in the mouth. Superbly balancing the acidity of Resling, the richness of mouthfeel as well as higher alcohol content. Long lasting finish with notes of ginger.
