I’d like to propose a bottle of verdejo (the grape is Spanish, so that ‘j’ is pronounced as a breathy ‘h’). #와인 한달 반 전에 마셨던 와인. 너무 맛있고 재밌었지만 기억이 가물가물하다. 역시 꾸준히 기록하는 건 어려운 일이다. 기억을 조금씩 되짚어보며 적는다. 1. Henry Giraud, Esprit Nature NV(매그넘) 앙리지로. 처음 7만원대에 먹었을 때 아 샴페인이 이래서 맛있구나 했던 좋은 기억이 있던 묵직함이 기억난다. 피노누아 비율이 높은것으로 알고있다. 그런데 이 날은 매그넘을 만나서 엄청 기대를 많이 했었다. 병입된지가 오래 안되서 그런지 생각보다 샴페인 특유의 숙성향이 부족하다고 느껴졌다. 그래도 엔트리급에선 앙리지로가 아직까진 제일 나에게 맛있게 다가오는 것 같다.(안마셔본것도 사실 많다.) 2. Krug171 처음 만난 171. 정말로 170보다 샴페인의 이스트풍미가 직관적으로 너무 좋았다. 물론 샴페인의 병숙성이 중요하다는 것을 알아가는 과정에 있지만..크룩매니아가 괜히 있는게 아니구나를 느꼈다. 170과 다른 느낌. 뭐가 더 좋은지는 판단할 수 없이 각각 너무나도 맛있고 좋은 샴페인이지만 내 취향은 171에 한 걸음 더 가까웠다고 생각한다. 3. Andre Perret Condrieu 2013 비오니에는 산도가 낮아 장기 숙성에 적합하지 않다고들 한다. 근데 신세계상품권으로 뭘 살까하다가 10년된 꽁드리유가 있길래 샀다. 맛이 간 느낌은 없었다. 다만 최근 빈티지를 먹었다면 더 맛있었을 것 같았다. 어찌됐건 좋은 경험. 4. Louis Max Chablis 1er cru 1991 셀러에 있다고 가져와주신 재밌는 와인. 맛 제대로 간 와인을 처음 마셔봤다. 매실주와 식초 그 사이에 맛이 존재했던걸로 기억한다. 두입 먹었다. 이또한 좋은 경험. 5. Domaine Nicolas Rossignol Volnay 1er Cru ‘Fremiets’ 2017 볼네는 꼬뜨 드 본에서 가장 우아하다고 공부했던 와인. 해당 밭은 찾아보니 뽀마르 쪽에 가까워서 그런지 볼네보다 뽀마르 스타일에 가깝다고 느꼈다. 아름다운 붉은계열 과실향과 약간의 흙향이 주를 이뤘고 여리여리보다는 약간의 강건함? 그어딘가에 있었다. 표현이 모호해도 이날 가장 맛있게 먹었던 3개중 하나이다. 6. Chateau Guiraud 2002 소떼른의 02빈 디저트와인. 함께하는 사람의 생빈으로 준비했다. 아름다운 골드 컬러. 당도와 산도의 조화가 좋았으나 산도가 아주조금 아쉬웠다. 맛있었지만 겨울에 마신 80년대 소떼른이 너무 맛있어서 그런가 뭔가 일찍 마신 느낌이 들었다. 몇년 더 둘걸 하는 아쉬움도 있었으나 그래도 맛나게 마심. 7. Bodega Garzon Single Vinyard Albarino - 국적 : 우루과이 - 품종 : 알바리뇨 특이한거 또 관심있어하는 나라서 우루과이의 알바리뇨를 준비해봤다. 샛노란 컬러에 싱글빈야드라 그래도 괜찮겠지 했는데 생각대로 나쁘지않았다. 바나나향인지 메론향인지 향도 열대스러우면서 맛도 나쁘지않았다. 때론 매니악한 와인이 전체 판의 재미를 증가시킨다. 8. The #internationalviognierday celebrated on the last Friday of April, inspired me to re-visit this grape variety and taste its famous blend of côtes-du-rhone and its mono varietal version by @lesalexandrins vintage 2022, which opens up with some floral aromas of peach blossom, then evolves into ripe yellow pear, yellow apple, quince, ripe lemon, peaches, ripe apricots, melon and finishes off with tropical aromas of ripe pineapple and banana. Incredibly mineral it has a pleasant acidity and a full body, lush and rounded.
