Normally at this time of year I would be completing final preparations for the upcoming Sugar Land Arts Fest. Unfortunately this year it happens to fall on the same weekend as the MS 150 bike ride. The MS 150 is a 150 mile bike ride over two days that is organized by the National MS Society, which aims to raise awareness and funds for those impacted by Multiple Sclerosis. It has been incredibly inspiring, since becoming involved, to learn more about this cause and to hear about the advancements being made to combat this horrible disease. So if you’ve been wondering why I haven’t really been posting on here much lately, and especially why I’ve not been posting new work, now you know why. As you can imagine, training to ride 150 miles over two days (essentially 75 miles per day) takes a lot of time - especially when you are starting where I was! Before January, the furthest I’d ever ridden at one time was 12 miles, and I didn’t even own a road bike. But I was looking for a new challenge this year and with this, I certainly got one - plus so much more! I’m incredibly proud to be doing this as a part of the awesome @saintarnoldbiketeam. Our team has raised the second highest amount of funds to combat MS - funds I know will be put to good use! Last year, I made the very difficult decision to close my free Facebook Group: The Successful Ladies Lounge While this was a necessary and important business decision, it was a hard one to make. I started the Facebook group when I launched my business 4 years ago, and over the years, the group grew with me and with my business. I had shown up every day inside the group for 4 years, gave it my all and much more…but at some point, I knew we had to part ways. This is not the only time I’ve had to make a difficult decision in business, but it hurt more than most because of the amazing connections inside the group. Why do I share this? Because this was one of those reminders that what got you to where you are right now in your business won’t get you to the next level.
