Nothing like a hot bowl of chili 🥘 with a side of corn 🌽 bread 🍞. Well, it turned more into a succotash but still delish 😋. Ingredients: 3 red bell peppers 🫑 1 onion 🧅 3 garlic cloves 🧄 3 types of beans 🫘 (white bean, pinto bean and black bean) 1 pound of meat @butcher_box 1 bag of fire roasted corn 🌽 1 tbsp of spices (we used memphis bbq 🍖 dry rub) *We made some gluten cornbread from Trader Joe’s as a treat Directions: -Throw all ingredients in a pot and cook for 30-40 minutes. We sautéed veggies prior in ghee but recommend putting them all in a pot making it more liquidy. Also adding some diced tomatoes 🍅. We just were out of them atm. 🤷🏻‍♂️ -Follow directions on cornbread box How love’s hot meals on a cold day? ⬇️

Last month in a half we have been working on our strict upper body calisthenics movements including push-ups, dips, and today pull-ups. Today’s goal is 3 sets of 5 + 1 AMRAP set. The target 🎯weight or band should be doable without any failed reps. This is not a max effort weight or band allowing for only 1 rep. The AMRAP portion is a way to test your intensity you picked. If you get only five reps we should stay here for another week. If you get 10-15 reps it’s time to scale up. At @konversionfit we like to build strength across all rep ranges from 1 to 50. Let’s go! Baked rosemary garlic salmon with roasted sweet potatoes & asparagus Ingredients: -Fresh wild caught salmon (not farm raised 🤮) -5 medium sweet potatoes -8oz of asparagus -fresh rosemary -3 garlic 🧄 cloves -ghee butter 🧈 Directions: 1. Turn on oven to 450 degrees. 2. Chop up potatoes in small cubes. 3. Sauté potatoes in ghee for 5 minutes just to get a sear. 4. Put the potatoes in the oven for 30 minutes. 5. Chop of the ends of the asparagus (cuz you fiancé doesn’t like them 😂) then put them in the same skillet as the potatoes and roast in oven for the last 10 minutes in a little bit of ghee. 6. Place salmon on a sheet pan. I seasoned with fresh garlic, salt, rosemary and pepper. 7. Cook salmon in oven for 10-15 minutes depending on how you like your fish. 8. Enjoy a meal for two 😋. *you can always add more fish or sides for a family. If you are alone you can make this and have the second meal for lunch the next day. Give it a shot, it’s delish!

Friendly reminder to put good things in your body. You can have the most optimal workout plan but if you not eating the right foods and the right amount of food you are going to be missing out on some positive progress! 🏆 Everyone is a little different. A good idea 💡 is to make a list of things you need to eat, want to eat sparingly and try to avoid if possible. 📔 Things “I” try to aim for: -single ingredient food. Check your labels 🏷 -well sourced wild, organic, grass fed/finished protein 🍗🥩🍤🍖🍳 -organic produce (fruits 🍎🍌🍉🍑🍓🍇and veggies🍠🥕🥦) -limited added sugar 🍬🍰 -limited alcohol 🥃🍷🥂 -avoid hydrogenated, vegetable and seed oils ⛽️ -avoid artificial colors and dyes 🧪 -avoid food that don’t make me feel good. Bloating, farts💨, upset stomach, itchy after eating a meal is not part of getting older you are mostly likely eating foods that your body doesn’t like. -Moderation when I want to enjoy 😊 With that being said, I also have performance and aesthetic goals so amounts of the above ⬆️ list is also important. Here are some ways to be successful at @konversionfit using our online app. 1️⃣Reserve your classes in advance in our app. We know things come up, most of us have very busy lives including careers, kids and dogs but making a schedule ahead of time always helps. It also encourages others to come to class knowing that you are coming 🪧. 2️⃣Enter your weights, scores and results in our app to make sure you are getting better 💪🏻 in our performance feature. This way you do not have to remember what you did months ago. It also encourages you to add a little more weight to your lifts or move a little bit faster in your metcons. 3️⃣Engage on each other’s times or lifts you never know a comment or 👍🏻 can help someone stay motivated. A great alternative to pushing weights is to simply push your body weight. 🤯 Getting inverted and practicing wall-walks is a great movement that builds your core muscles, as well as, shoulder-strength and stability. While we highly encourage using weights and practicing overhead lifts, adding in movements that only require your body weight, like a wall-walk, can be a great way to train the same muscle group multiple days of the week! Weighted exercises allow for the ability to get stronger and visually see yourself lifting more weight. This same concept applies for body weight exercises in that as you get stronger your ability to advance the movement increases. For example, if you keep practicing your wall-walks soon you'll be able to do a hand-stand push up. We love incorporating body weight movements into our weekly programming at KVFIT. She has also done 5 CrossFit competitions, winning 1st place in one of them.🏆 Jill has been at Left Coast for 4 years and that is how long she has been crossfitting. Yesterdays strength day practice will pay off during tomorrows metcon! If you have been to our classes you might notice a pattern to our programming. On strength days we have a couple goals in mind. The first goal is to practice a movement and to improve in form and technique, the second goal is to increase weight and / or endurance in that movement. When we accomplish the above it prepares us to perform better in our metcon style workouts thus increasing not only our strength and stamina, but our mobility and mental capacity. What an incredible few days we’ve had during testing week.🥳🥳🥳 Considerable amount of PRs, team spirit and camaraderie. 🙌🙌🙌 Some very impressive performances 👉🏻 @richmunton and @_nickferrara breaking 500# DL and @hi_imkyra & @caterina_ferrario lifting over 300# on the ladies side. 👏👏Impressive bench press by @pat_tighe70 of 330# and @tgibs365 hitting 48+cal on the assault bike in 1 minute. 🤢 And the most dedicated @fastjac & @tworekr showing up for a Saturday wod after 5 days of crushing all of their records. 👊👊 We averaged around 20 PRs on the days Wodify was working properly.💪🏼🔥🔥🔥 Thanks to the amazing coaches @andytrinhcoach @fraank_e & @tgibs365 for organizing, assisting, cheering and doing all the math.🤗🤗🤗 I am certain we are all looking forward to the next testing week, minus the 100 burpees for time & max cal in 1 min on the bike🤮 If we missed any highlights, or if you have any commendations for anyone that stood out of the crowd in the past week, please give them a shout in the comment box below 👇👇👇 #leftcoastcrossfit #leftcoastcrossfitfamily #lccf #crossfit #testingweek #personalrecord #functionalfitness #teamspirit #lagunaniguelfitness #occrossfit #missionviejofitness
