Ciliegiolo is produced from the native Tuscan grape variety of the same name. Historically used in the Chianti wine blend, it is one of the least known but among the most typical grape varieties of our Tuscan region. Proposed here in purity to enhance all its most typical characteristics: a combination of spices, earth and small red fruits. It comes from vineyards covering 10 hectares in the heart of the Val di Chiana, a reality rich in winemaking tradition, history and art that encompasses modernity and ancient tradition. The production philosophy is based on deep respect for the fruit and the land, working with traditional techniques and minimizing the use of any product, especially when not necessary. The result is an authentic and clean red that embodies the tradition and typicality of this valley. Il Ciliegiolo è prodotto dall’omonimo vitigno autoctono toscano. Storicamente utilizzato nell'uvaggio del Chianti è uno dei vitigni meno conosciuti ma tra i più tipici della nostra regione Toscana. Proposto in questo caso in purezza per esaltarne tutte le sue caratteristiche più tipiche: connubio di spezie, terra e piccoli frutti rossi. If you haven’t yet visited @1965chateaupichonlongeville a stunning 102-hectare Second Growth château, I highly recommend booking a visit now. Located in the southern part of Pauillac, it sits directly across from the equally magnificent Pichon Baron. From this château, you can gaze upon Château Latour and dream. During our visit, we had the opportunity to taste all their 2023 vintages from Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande—a mouthful to say, especially after enjoying a glass of their wine! We also sampled wines from another of their estates, @chateaudepez in AOC Saint-Estèphe, and concluded our tasting with the Pichon Comtesse Réserve. Overall, I was most impressed by the first wine, while my friends preferred the Réserve. I have only tasted older vintages from this château before, with the most recent being from 2007 vintage and considering the primeur tasting, although the wines are not yet fully matured, they are already showing signs of perfection.

Recently, I had the incredible opportunity to visit the phenomenal Carter Creek Winery Resort & Spa in the Texas Hill Country for a weekend of beauty, relaxation, and of course, good wine. I haven’t spent nearly as much time in the Hill Country area as I would like to, so I was so excited to be invited to this incredible Johnson City retreat. I brought my bestie Jordan along for a girls’ weekend we wouldn’t soon forget! There is so much to love about Carter Creek! The property sits on 600 beautiful Hill Country acres, offering many opportunities to get outside and enjoy the beauty of nature.
