Going really well! Starting weight 68kg with a few weeks of going up and maintaining! I had to up my game from the first cut being intense enough and it worked! This time more intensity and more cardio time spent in the gym I had to dig deeper! 🏋️♂️ x 5 HIIT sessions 8 rounds 🏋️♂️ x 7 cardio 50 mins bpm 130 🏋️♂️ plus 3 legs 1 upper body 1 shoulders a week That is so much work being done here and a lot of frustrating but good weeks! For some it’s just beads, thread 🧵, and weft hair, but for me it’s a start to better things. I have been in the hair business for over 30 years 😳, and the last 16 years working with hair extensions. I have seen so many changes in the industry, but still wanting to learn more. Digging deeper into what goes into the hair really fascinates me. Feeling kind of emotional this week (what’s new lately, lol.) but lots of reflectiveness lately. I had this memory of when my kids were younger, some still in diapers. Hubby was working full time and going to school, I think we were on our 3rd baby at the time… and of course I was utterly exhausted. Mentally, emotionally… and just all the things. We had decided to switch off a give each other a night out each week to do whatever we wanted to do, shopping, friend nights, time alone or just whatever. Anyway, I remember this one night…. It was my turn to go have my night out, but I was so exhausted and felt so awful that I didn’t even have the energy to get out. But I still wanted the break. So I left the house, made it to the target parking lot, think I went in and got myself a treat, then just sat in the back seat of my car in silence…crying. Then I laid down and just closed my eyes in the uninterrupted silence of the car…. No one needing me, no diapers to change, no kids crying at me, nothing to pick up or clean up… and I just sat there in all of my emotions and utter emptiness . I think this memory came to me, because it was one of the many moments in my life that I have felt completely and utterly spent. Nothing left in the tank. Nothing left to give. I also learned from each experience how to take care of myself a little better. How to fill my tank more often and how if I run myself into the ground, and find myself with nothing left, I’m not helping anyone, can’t be there for anyone, not even myself. Maybe this memory came to me because of the self imposed depletion and growth I’m putting myself through right now… 😂maybe it’s my brain digging for some deeper inner motivation… reminding me what hard times I’ve gone through…. and how strong I am to get through them. Either way, I’m grateful to be where I’m at, grateful for all that I’ve learned and so grateful for all the lessons that life has taught me. I think life is continually paving a path for us for new growth and learning. Each experience growing us… continually shaping and forming us. And we are strong enough to go through it all!! #stronger #lifesjourney #overcoming #motivation

Monday will be a month since I joined beach body and really started diving into myself- breaking apart my habits, my motivations, my beliefs, my desires and goals. It’s been a lovely month but a month full of pushing limits and discomfort of change and growth. It’s been non stop going all week this week. It was extra hard to get up today and yesterday afternoon was not lovely. I snapped hard core on my kids. (They called for severe action but not quite as bad as they got). I ate a bunch of cheesy noodles with dinner and that was the first time this month I let myself go! (Today I’m not sad about the noodles, I’m not falling into old patterns of eating), I have really been digging in to the perfectionist mindset, and recognizing the all or nothing mindset. I took a nap, I apologized to my son particularly and told him I loved him. I asked God for forgiveness and after sulking for a little while reminded myself of His promises to never leave or forsake me- He already knew I was going to mess up. Kids fail. Moms fail all the time too. We are human and have our limits. Today I’m listening to my body. I can feel the tiredness. I can feel the need for rest. I often put too much on myself and then push to keep up. Today I’m going to use the day to catch up on things I had on my to do lists this week that didn’t get done and try to just give my body and mind the time to recoop. I’ve said yes to a lot of great things this month, things that are great for me in the long term, but my body and mind needs a minute to regroup too! Change is hard work so make sure you’re listening to your body too! Sorry if I’m over sharing! I have been doing alot of shifting over these last few weeks. I am doing a course in homeopathy so I was expecting some new insights and clearings, but was surprised about how my body would react. I have experienced pain in my jawline which brought up a memory when I had some teeth removed as a child with gas and air, so realise that this must of been very traumatic. I am going through a deep detox with flu symptoms, but not feeling ill, but just going through many stuck layers. I have another couple of weeks to go so looking forward to more insights and shifts. What has amazed me is how more motivated I am feeling to get things done. My mother-in-law said to me the other day, “We should support small businesses because we want them to be there.” Now I’m not saying that is everyone’s truth, but it also stopped my in my tracks how clear and to the point it was. As an owner of a small (tiny 😍) business myself, I take pride in offering services that are supportive to people who resonate with them. It does not need to be for everyone, nor sweep the globe. I LOVE Yoga. Teaching is in my soul. But dang it’s been a hard couple of years to keep things afloat professionally. The pivoting and and scrambling has felt overwhelming in many moments, and I’ve wanted to walk away more than once. I share this not for pity or to sound dramatic, but because this is real, and I know I’m not the only tired one! So I encourage you (and me), if we can, to stop by the local coffee shop and buy a treat with your latte. To go ahead and order the handmade craft you saw a beautiful photo of on Instagram. To support the teachers of any practice or skill you know who don’t have a huge platform - even if that means it’s not free. I know not everyone will love this post. I try to focus as much as possible on gratitude and encouragement - those are core values for me. The best decision I have made was to start going to therapy. Therapy so far has been very helpful. It has also helped with my memory, my memory to me has always been an issue. I also can talk about things and think "yes, I had a right to be upset about that." Or "No, I actually could have handled that situation better by doing xyz". Therapy is not just for the "broken" or the "weak" as people would say, Therapy is there to help you straighten your crown when you fall. Therapy is there to receive guidance from somebody on the outside looking in on your situation. I have dug deeply within myself over the past sessions I have had with my therapist and it has truly helped me. I have taken steps back before I explode, yes I still have my times, my bad days my moments...but what is different now is that I admit that I am in the wrong, I recognize the tone of my voice I'm giving off, I have seriously pulled myself out of certain situations that could have been bad but because my reaction to that situation, it turned out to be lesson learned and move on. The best thing I ever did was to dig deeper within myself, and I keep digging. The anxiety, the depression, etc it comes from somewhere and it takes time to get to the root but I'm all for it, I'm all for taking baby steps to get there. I am bettering myself and I'm very proud of myself. Ahhh, that residency we got started. One successful.gig in, and then the world had other ideas. Sorry I obstructed your face with me guitar, @justinstragram 🤣 I know this wonderful venue is now operating solely as a bottle shop and a food takeaway joint in order to stay afloat. And long may it live. I've been imagining the day I'll know it's finally 'right' to get in touch with them again in order to get this event off the ground again, but all I can do is wish them well with doing everything they can to survive. So in my imagination it will remain until we can confidently plan, rehearse, promote and everything else is takes to put on a community-building gig like this. Right now, I still can't summon the energy to even entertain the idea until I see definite signs that the gigs won't get canned within days/weeks of booking them. Until then, we continue survival mode for our mental health and personal/artistic development. Pretty soon, though, we're going to need to share the fruits of that labour with other people in real life. After all, that's the whole point of this creation thing. Stay well, folks. I want you to read both of these and think about it…. I’ve been described and described myself as a people pleaser for years!!! But recently…. When I started seeing TWO sides of some hard situations … I realized I can REFUSE… to be a participant in another’s emotions! I’ve taken some REAL steps away from situations friends/family and realized I need healthy boundaries… it doesn’t mean I have to believe what they believe to love them….. I don’t have to participate in the things if it doesn’t align with who I am….. I realized trying to make others happy, or understand my feelings was giving me some real emotional issues! And copious amounts of essential oils were being consumed and applied! Thank you Jesus for healing plants!!! 🙌🏻 ☝🏻 you don’t like EO’s 🤷🏻♀️ that’s ok by me! There are lots of ways to get centered & grounded and I probably do those too! 🥰 but start leaning into your own authentic self…. 😘 dig deep …. She’s in there! 😎
