On Tuesday, we commemorated the launch of our “Art As A Voice” initiative! 🎨 Celebrating the hotel’s 50th anniversary, we unveiled a unique art collaboration with the Hong Kong Hereditary Breast Cancer Family Registry. Renowned Celebrity Artist, Lynn Hsieh, and Visual Artist, Aka C, came together to create mesmerizing art pieces centered around the theme of “love,” advocating for self-care and community support. 💕 From 2nd May to 31st August, the exquisite collection adorned the Artist Playground at the Ebb & Flow lobby lounge. Guests had the exclusive opportunity to acquire these art pieces 🖼️, as well as indulge in delectable macarons and cakes 🍪. SCO GRAND CHIEF ENCOURAGES EBB AND FLOW STUDENTS Students from the grade 12 class at the Ebb and Flow School had a visit with Grand Chief Jerry Daniels of the Southern Chiefs' Organization (SCO) last night. During their visit, the Grand Chief shared about the work SCO is doing through our Wehwehneh Bahgahkinahgohn project to reimage the old HBC building in downtown Winnipeg. He explained that student residences will be available for post-secondary students and he also reflected on his recent visit to further his education at Harvard University. Grand Chief encouraged the students to never stop learning as they prepare to attend the 26th annual Vision Quest Conference and Trade Show taking place this week in Treaty One Territory. SCO continues to advocate for increased access to educational opportunities for First Nations students. Grand Chief Daniels enjoyed meeting all the students and he extends his congratulations to the students from the Ebb and Flow School’s graduating class of 2024 on behalf of everyone at SCO. Have you ever noticed how your energy levels and mood seem to ebb and flow with your monthly cycle? Some days, you’re low on energy, feeling moody and depleted. Other times, you’re filled with joy, experiencing happiness for no apparent reason, ready to conquer the world. I’ve certainly felt the ups and downs, and I’ve learned to attribute them to my menstrual cycle. During those first few days of menstruation, I take it easy, curling up with a hot water bottle, a cup of tea, and a good book or Netflix series. But when my energy is high, I adapt my workouts, work tasks, and nutrition to align with that part of my cycle. It’s a practice I also encourage my clients to adopt – understanding where they are in their cycle can provide valuable insights into their overall well-being. Over the years, I’ve delved deep into the different phases of the menstrual cycle and their impact on our sense of self, mood, energy levels, libido, and sensitivity to stress and anxiety. Sitting on a large rock some distance from the beach, I watched as the tide started to roll in. I noticed a small puddle of water and a little stream slowly feeding it. In a few minutes, another stream appeared, and the puddle became a pool. As the streams continued to form, merge and create yet bigger pools of water, I marvelled at how the slow transition from low to high tide allowed life in and around the ocean to transition easily. It could be catastrophic if the water came in or went out too fast. The tide is a perfect example of Divine timing (🙄); it’s easy to accept when things are going according to our plans, but when things seem to stall or evade us, the thought isn’t quite as palatable. However, everything happens in perfect or Divine timing. All the delays, detours, and even rejections occur just as they should. The waiting, the meantime, and in-between time are like the tiny streams creating the pools that slowly adjust the environment's temperature. When events or things appear to be delayed, we may need extra time to prepare for what is coming or learn a lesson before receiving what we are waiting for. She owns The Cardio Club and Delhi Dance Studio, in Delhi, New York, where she offers personal training, virtual training, and also teaches fitness, dance and yoga classes. Raegan is an AFAA-certified fitness instructor, 200-hour RYT, a personal trainer and an aerial yoga instructor. She holds a BFA in dance from SUNY Brockport. She has taught throughout the United States, and has led yoga retreats in the Bahamas, Mexico, Costa Rica, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic. She helped launch the fitness class program at SUNY Delhi in 2007, where she served as adjunct professor for seven years. Raegan is grateful to be bringing together so many wonderful attendees, vendors, volunteers and instructors to the Catskill Mountain Yoga Festival. Crocheting looks different these days. Although I've been quiet on social media I'm still crocheting. Instead of crocheting as fast as I can I'm leaning into moments when I'm inspired to crochet. Found myself a new favorite spot to add to my go-to list. I've been wanting to explore this park for awhile now and I'm glad I was finally able to check it out. After a nice little hike, I spent a few hours relaxing on the beach. Located on Tampa Bay, it's a nice little beach, there's plenty of parking and I pretty much had the beach to myself. I'm sure the weekends are much busier. They have a camp ground, boat luanch, several pavilions, kayak rentals, and of course plenty beautiful views.
