I have not done a true bulk in over a year. I have not been this body weight in over a year. So some days are harder then others with how I see myself. Even in a sport that only cares about how strong you are, our bodies will always look different as we get stronger and add muscle, especially when we go back and forth from cutting to maintaining our off season weight. I took some photos the other day and compared them to myself from around Jan 2023. I was actually surprised at the changes I saw at this body weight. How much bigger the outside of my quads looked, my mid section maybe looked a hair bigger, but it was because I actually had some ab definition and my mid section now compared to a year ago is just more dense. My back was a little wider, and my glutes had more shape to them. We can’t ever build straight muscle when bulking and gaining weight. But I think my other shorties can agree, that being around the 5’ range, we sometimes think we look like we put on more fat than we actually do when bulking. I can no longer use my own weight as a counterbalance and I'm trying to find my new middle point in my body. I'm using straps to focus less on my grip (it is rather good and maintained with the pole training) and more on leaning back in my lifts. Officially started my off season program today. Doing a 12 week off season, which leaves me 17 weeks until kaos, so assuming we will probably do some type of transition block before we transition into a usual 10ish week prep. It’s been 4 weeks since OSG, and real talk, the last 4 weeks was the worst post comp depression I’ve ever delt with. No idea why. But I just didn’t wanna go to the gym, very unhappy with how I looked physically and the scale weight. (Which I look no different and weigh no more then any other off season or post comp), but for some reason it was worse this time. I think part of it too was competing 4x this year and never had long enough to think about anything else except for my next prep. And even though I have kaos to look forward to in July, and many other big comps, still didn’t help the post comp depression. I also think a part of it is being around the holidays, nothing is the same, no family, no Dex. 2 baby PRs today. I only lifted once this week in the apartment gym for a short session because of Roxie and her surgery, so today was my first day back at the gym, so just wanted to have some fun. Still can’t press over 100# with my right arm without pain, so 120lb/54.6kg on my left I’ll take! Super easy but even so 130/59.1 wasn’t there. Also did a 260/118.2kg stone! Next stone available was way too high of a jump and just got it off the ground a little. Wearing the @kaos_strength_clothing grip shirt and new neoprene shorts! First time wearing the shorts and love them. OSG 2023. What a weekend , my first OSG show is over and done ! I managed to stay in the middle of the pack both days , ended up tied in 13th place and with a tie breaker i placed 14th of 24 incredible women , everything went better than i thought it would and im so proud that i can call myself the 14 strongest woman in the world . So my first OSG prep is officially over! It has not been an easy road after loosing my dad , i spent 3-4 weeks by his side day and night , didn't train at all ,eat or sleep properly, it's the hardest thing i've gone through in my life ,watching the man i knew disappear in front of me without proper answers as what was going on until it was over . After giving myself the time i needed after his death i had to start far away from what i had originally planned . I've been exhausted, cried and wanted to quit so may times but i kept going because i knew i could do it! Even though it's been hard i've also enjoyed it and had fun and Im beyond grateful for the invite and this chance for me to progress in this sport , i might not be the best but im bringing the best i could work for this time and not putting any pressure on myself , now we rest and i can't wait to go out on that stage and have fun and meet everyone ! I pressed 105kg and set a new womens icelandic log record , my balance was a bit over the plce but it felt light ! The deadlift didn't go like i had hoped but it is what it is ,i pulled 230kg and failed 250kg . Overall it was a great competition and i had so much fun ! It’s a wrap! Officially off season and I got work to do! I got last call out, but I expected that, the other girls here are at another level! This was my best package so far, and my posing was way better. That was the goal, together with the experience. I competed in Arnolds! Time to grow, baby!
“Arrrgghhh, if I had just… wait… what was I doing with…why didn’t I just move that hand...” So, after seeing the videos, I can tell where I went wrong. 😆 Still, not a terrible debut to #NaturalStoneLifting My goal now is to shoulder the 125 and 140 (in a way which doesn’t look like I’m picking up my 125 pound stone baby to burp it), and to lap and eventually load that 165 stone. Can’t stress enough how much I enjoyed working out with the Weekend Warrior guys, I definitely appreciate the support. It feels great getting back into things, and it’s great to have Tony training again as well! (He’s been starting to post some training videos on our YouTube channel, and we’re planning to start doing a lot more with that.) Of course, the most important part of this (or any training video) is that the dog made his way into the last video. Welcome Strong Team 7! This past week 777 Fitness and Wellness began renovations to welcome the new strongman team! The team had their first Strongman Sunday this past weekend as they started moving in the first couple pieces of their equipment. Inspired by my dance lessons at @dancingdiamondsfitness every lift came with a dance! 🤣💃 I also realised that my mind plays tricks with me and later on I did a #farmerswalk with 90 kg... 🤔 Took the #polefitness to the #crossfitgym with some pole #handstand and my husband flipped the bar vertical to create a #pole.
