a few clips from one of my leg days this week. move weight, have control, work a full ROM, and attack the set with eveything💯 •Barbell RDL glute focused rdls .. the goal is to lock in form and attack the set. I had 4 heavy sets of (4-6) reps. Your feet should be shoulder width apart. When you execute the RDL, focus on driving your hips back while keeping your lats, and core tight. You should have a slight bend in the knee, and the ROM should stop right below your knee caps. •Machine Hack Squat I love this power squat machine. My feet are a half step inside shoulder width apart with my toes slightly turned out. These are quad focused squats which means my stance is going to be closer together. This does not mean my hamstrings and glutes do not work. As I squat down, I am focused on engaging, and keeping my core tight the entire squat. My toes grip into the ground, and I sit back into my heels as I squat. I am controlling the weight, and I am working a full ROM every rep. Workout Fueled by @c4energy 🫡

2024 SCHEDULE SET IN STONE! All of the meets, that Fry's Family Fitness host, are all on the United States Powerlifting Association (USPA) for the rest of 2024. We are already looking ahead at 2025, where to host meets, how many meets to host and what could be next for what we want to give back to the lifters that support our mission of giving back to the lifters. If you are a gym owner or you know a gym owner that may be interested in having us host a meet at your gym, please have them reach out to us. Pasé pensando un tiempo y procesando todo lo que ha sido este proceso y fuera de la frustración y sentirse triste de llegar a la casa sabiendo que no se dieron las cosas que no hay mucho que decir, no soy de meter excusas pero han sido 9 meses de pesadilla, siempre tuve la esperanza de que me me iba a recuperar y el dolor iba a pasar pero la verdad fue todo lo contrario, esta vez solo me tocó aceptar que tal ves no fue mi momento y no es cuando uno quiere si no cuando Dios quiere y que las cosas pasan por algo y para algo🫤. Creo que la vida te enseña mucho cuando andas pasando por un momento malo y Dios nunca te abandona para que estés con Él cuando vengan los momentos buenos. Cometer errores no es malo, te da una oportunidad para aprender de ellos y ser mejor en todo lo que te equivocaste. Lo positivo que puedo sacar de este proceso son los aprendizajes, experiencias y lo más importante, el aprender a seguir incluso cuando las cosas siguen mal, el luchar por tu sueño así todo esté en contra, de eso se trata todo, el jamás agachar la cabeza por qué solo tú sabes lo que significa y lo que has tenido que pasar para poder estar en donde estás, es doloroso pero todo se vale en el deporte, las lágrimas, frustraciones y momentos que sientes que ya no 🤷🏻‍♂️. Siempre voy a estar agradecido de poder vivir el proceso hacia mi sueño y haciendo lo que más me gusta 🏋🏻‍♂️Esperando que después de todo esto pueda volver a ser lo que era antes y nada se interponga en el camino con la mano de Dios 🙏🏻. @battle.of.the.barbarians III done and dusted. Finished 4th overall in a stacked 9 man open division. Day went as expected, had a really solid 3 events and 2 weaker events that cost me the podium. 1 - 265 axle clean and press. Huge PB with 4 reps in 60 secs. Tied 🥇 2 - Sanbag load and drag 200 and 250 lbs sandbag to 520 sled drag 50 ft. Really pleased how all the hard work for this one paid off. 🥉 place. 3 - 550 frame hold for time. ~25 seconds. Grip still costing me, have to work harder in this area. 5th in this one I think. 4 - 25, 30, 35, 40 lb bags to ~15 ft. Best bag run I’ve done to date, but need to be faster. 🥉 place. 5 - Arm over arm truck pull. Didn’t place super high, but a big personal PB. I’ve been working for weeks on this event, and this was my best run to date and I’m very happy with the progress. Congrats to the podium finishers @kg.hoehn @jeremybaker31 and @mikeschiml. Karsten and Jeremy proved they will be the top dogs in amateur open in Sask and Manitoba this year and crop top Schiml has already proved he’s one of the best 105s in the country. A huge thank you to my strongman gym @barbarianstrong and their staff and volunteers who ran an excellent show. Thank you to my family for their support. Having my kids run up to me for hugs and fist bumps make any good event better, and takes away the sting of any disappointments. Thanks to my coach @dennylabreche with @valkyriestrength.club for helping me to be in the mix for a podium finish despite having a bad set of events lol. And thanks to the companies who have come on board to support me in my 2024 season: @resolutestrengthwear @feedyourbeardyyc @supplementworldwarman @supplementworldsask Still waiting on an announcement for my next comp, but we’ll be back on the grind right away to be stronger for what’s ahead.

My goal was 285, but after my first attempt at 270, I knew that was not going to happen. So took a rest and went back to the bar, and got 270 barely. I almost gave up but my kid was cheering me on from the side. This is still at PR! So we take the win, especially since I am slightly injured. I will not be testing the 1rm on my bench since most of the pain is in my right shoulder. This has been 12 weeks of the same movements with some changes in reps and tempo and I am thoroughly impressed by my own programming! Comeback W6, D3. 22 weeks Post Op. I did this about an hour after the first workout yesterday. It was still largely fasted, but I did have two English Muffins in between with some no sugar added PB and 50% reduced sugar jam. - Stiff Legged DL: 3 top sets with 225x5. - 2.75" Defecit DL: 225x5, 275x2x5, 4. - Banded T Bar Rows: did a 3XAMRAP with the last a.drop set to 90. - I engineered a legit Lat Pulldown. This was the last set. I’ve set myself a target to be able to lift 105kg by start of June. I failed today but it is so nice to push myself. And the videos were funny too! I’ve been working so hard on my form and I am happy I was able to do 2 reps of deadlifts with 80kg. Slowly heading in the right direction.. trust the process. #deadlifts #trying #goalsetting #fail

The 25% sale ends May 6 & won’t go again until November.   I’ve recently posted some of my athletes using the potentiated overcoming isometrics protocol. Most of those showed 2 spotters assisting so I wanted to showcase variations with 1 spotter. With 1 spotter setup the weight either needs to be closer to 85-90% of lifter’s max or the athlete needs to be significantly smaller than the spotter.   Here’s how this potentiated overcoming isometrics protocol works.   Research shows intense overcoming isometric contractions (pressing or pulling against an immovable load creates heightened levels of post activation potentiation (post activation performance enhancement). This means the athlete will have greater temporary power output on subsequent explosive movements.   We’re taking that method a step further here by allowing the athlete to go directly from their overcoming isometric then we transfer the increased post activation potentiation & neurological ramping into their actual movement for greater power output on the exercise.   Think of it like this as the athlete drives with max effort for 3 sec against the load their nervous system has the time to ramp up to max motor unit recruitment. Simply, with each passing second they hit greater & greater levels of activation until it maxes out at roughly 3-4 sec in which case the spotter releasees tension & allows the lifter to experience the outcome of moving a moderately heavy load with 100% max activation.   Every athlete I’ve used this with said they are surprised how explosive they felt.   The 9 Exercises.   1.Potentiated Overcoming Isometrics Rack Pulls. 2. Potentiated Overcoming Isometrics Leg Press. 3. Squat Jumps. 4. Single Leg Pullovers. 5. Bent Over Rows. 6. Potentiated Overcoming Iso Incline Bench Press. 7.
