Otage by @tbcellars / 2021 / Pinot Noir / Santa Cruz Mountains / black cherries, cranberries, raspberry, white pepper, oak spice, savory earth, and orange peel. Initially a bit big up front, but an hour into the decanter the fruit tones down a bit and provides a really nice velvety mouthfeel. Medium acidity on the finish and a peppery spice undertone, this is one of the more fruit forward SC Pinot Noirs we’ve had but definitely well made and a homogenous wine. Continued to integrate better across the next two days. Time will be beneficial to this wine so be patient. / 92 points / $60 /

We had a very nice example in our glasses yesterday 😀👍🌟 This 2018 #riedbruck #riesling by Martin Muthenthaler from Spitzer Graben valley in the beautiful Wachau, Austria, is still so young and clear. It feels like it hasn’t aged a day. 👏👏👏 The nose is a nice mineralic mix with fresh stones and lots of flint, also some apples, apricots, some honey and herbs. On the palate an elegant and fresh acidity followed by crushed stones and flinty notes, super fine and totally minerality driven. Finishes rich salty and long with a nice lime mix. This wine has just started to show it’s full potential. Amyndeon (ook bekend als Amynteo) is een plateau in het noordwesten van Macedonië in Griekenland (niet te verwarren met de geheel door land omgeven Republiek Macedonië in het noorden). Het ligt net ten westen van het beroemde Naousa, waar enkele van de beste en duurste rode wijnen van Griekenland worden geproduceerd. De wijngaarden liggen hier tussen de bergen van Bermio en Voras, omringd door vier meren waaronder de grote Vegoritis. Ze liggen ook veel hoger in Amyndeon dan in Naoussa, zo’n 500-700 meter boven zeeniveau. Top klimatologische omstandigheden voor grootste witte wijnen. Vi invito a guardare la seconda foto ❤️ Non che in questi 4 mesi non abbia affinato il palato. La spinta sui vini “meno tradizionali” e “più naturali” ha avuto la meglio. Tanto ormai la mia natura la conoscete e non è cambiata 😉 Torno però con un assaggio più tradizionale 🍷 Beaune - Clos de Coucheraux 2017 Premier Cru di @louisjadot Siamo in casa Borgogna, nella parte meridionale della Côte d'Or, la dove il Pinot Noir risulta più “morbido”. Esposizione a mezzogiorno, terreno argilloso-calcareo. Vinificazione in tini aperti per 4 settimane, poi 18 mesi in rovere. Bouquet di grande ampiezza e raffinatezza. I frutti rossi e una leggera affumicatura la fanno da padroni. A seguire caffè tostato e funghi essiccati. Acidità di quelle che si sentono, a riequilibrare le morbidezze. Fedele rappresentazione della Côte d’Or. ⚠️ Mi prometto di non “assentarmi” più per così tanto tempo. Le passioni, così come le relazioni, vanno coltivate e mantenute vive. No Fugaz, dei falta de taninos. A uva de mesa não é lá aquelas coisas nesse ponto. Conversa vai, conversa vem, e escutando conselhos de quem sabe o que diz, vou testar vinificar 30% com o ráquis da uva, o popular cabinho. Sabe-se que (artigo da Embrapa) aplicação de Kamab® resulta em cachos com menor escurecimento da ráquis. Apesar de todos os poréns e vírgulas de uma pesquisa, observei que ao Sol e ao tempo, que é parte do meu processo de vinificar, eles ressecam e ficam escuros, óbvio. Então hoje pela manhã, depois de uma desidratação à sombra, mais moderada, selecionei 30% de ráquis mais naturais (quase que colhido no dia) e botei na geladeira para conservar melhor. Espero ter taninos no Éolo, evoluindo, assim, uma das carências que sinto no Fugaz. 𝐏𝐈𝐐𝐔𝐄 & 𝐌𝐈𝐗𝐄 Picpoul de Pinet has firmly claimed it's place on most wine lists and fridges at home because it's really bloody good, right? This little ripper is a tasty ol' blend of Picpoul and Terret, both native grapes to southern France made. We love it because it's like someone has taken a bottle of Picpoul de PInet, and hacked it so that every aspect of it has been amplified. It still has those orchard and citrus fruits with classical saline notes, but with added florals, tropical fruits and grapefruit twang. It smells and tastes great, with a really lovely mid-palate texture from extended lees ageing, and that classic, food-friendly acidity that we know and love from Picpoul. Yeah, it's bloody great. We will be drinking this allllll summer! #wegotthegoods

Die kleine, aber feine Domaine Astruc, lange Jahre von Jaques Astruc geleitet, wurde vor knapp 20 Jahren von Jean-Paul Mas, einem Visionär des südfranzösischen Weinbaus, übernommen. 🇫🇷 Mas, der vor allem in Amerika viel Erfahrung sammelte, brachte mit seinem Wissen und seiner unabdingbaren Suche nach Qualität frischen Wind in das etwas verschlafene Weingut im Languedoc. Dort, in den Hügeln über dem Etang de Thau, einer vom Meer abgeschirmten Süßwasserbucht, die auch die größte Austernzucht des Mittelmeeres beheimatet, wurde konsequent auf modernen Weinbau umgestellt, ohne die Traditionen zu vernachlässigen. Entstanden sind dadurch unglaublich klare, meist reinsortige Weine zu einem unschlagbaren Preis-Genuss-Verhältnis. Schnell war der Erfolg in französischen Önotheken und den lokalen Restaurants da, beste Bewertungen in der Fachpresse ließen nicht lange auf sich warten. 🍷🍝 Das Languedoc ist der nördliche Teil des riesigen Bereiches Languedoc-Roussillon im Süden Frankreichs. ☀️ Die an der Mittelmeerküste liegende Region ist eine sehr alte Kulturlandschaft und war schon immer Durchreisegebiet für viele Völker der Welt. Von einem einstmals durch billige Massenweine geschädigten Gebiet mit zweifelhaftem Ruf hat sich das Languedoc zum Geheimtipp für sehr gute und nach wie vor preiswerte Weine entwickelt. ✨Maßgebend hierfür waren auch sehr große Rodungsaktionen und die Rückbesinnung auf die besseren Lagen an den Schiefer- und Kalksteinhängen der Pyrenäenausläufern. Alte Rebanlagen wurden wieder rekultiviert und neue Weinberge angelegt. Das mediterrane Klima ist nach wie vor eine große Trumpfkarte und das Engagement einer jungen Winzergeneration zeigt hier überragende Erfolge. 🌱🌱 Das Geheimnis des großen Erfolges ist ohne Zweifel die herrliche Fruchtigkeit der charmanten Weine von Jacques Astruc, die edle Ausstattung und gleichzeitig ein unglaublich niedriger Preis für die gebotene Qualität.
