Bed Rest (2022) Genre : Horror Rating : 6/10 A pregnant woman moves to a new house but everything is not as it seems. Bed Rest, a recent horror movie, was directed, written, and co-produced by Lori Evans Taylor. Before this, she had only written extra episodes for TV shows, so this is her first time as a director. Julie spends most of her time in bed like this, but it's also when she starts to see very scary things. She starts to wonder, for example, if her new house is haunted or if she's going crazy. The fact that this is Lori Evans Taylor's first time directing makes the movie not very good. Not only does she come up with an original idea for the movie, but she also uses a few horror movie tropes that remind us of movies like Insidious and Rosemary's Baby. Because the movie isn't very complicated, it has a lot of the same parts. Most scary parts of the movie can be seen coming, and there are also a few cheap jump scares. The story goes on much longer than it should because of these overused plot devices and other cliches. The movie's main character, played by Melissa Barrera, does a good job. Because her character is forced to live in a small space, she just doesn't have many chances to do this. She spends a lot of time lying in bed, and there's no one else around to help or comfort her. She had to act out these situations even though she didn't have much to do. The rest of the cast doesn't do anything important besides help the main characters.
