Deciding to use her power for good, she starts saving all those fictional characters who die just for the sake of the plot. But Elana is not the only one with powers and she’s ruining the balance of the universe. Can Elana escape the clutches of those who are out to get her? The premise is great and it started off that way - it became really gripping in the first half of the book. But the second half lost steam, felt clunky and veered off in a direction I didn’t enjoy. I thought it would be grounded in reality with some magical realism thrown in, but it turned out to be more fantasy than I anticipated. Also, there was one page towards the end of the book that I felt like was shoehorned in. It was full of “lessons” and “messages” to take away from the story but, in my opinion, they didn’t make much sense to the story. Here’s a story about a man that I admire. I went to Porter Wagoner’s estate sale and It was awesome. One of the only things I found that I could afford was Porter’s Trash can, hamper and the plaque in the second picture. It’s from @the_singing_mountaineer Danny Bell to Porter and I found it hanging on the wall in Porter’s living room. Danny Bell was brought to the Opry as a kid by MOTHER MAYBELL and performed with country music gods like Bill Monroe, Earnest Tubb, Roy Acuff and Grampa Jones to name a few. This plaque is more than a cool thing. It’s country music history. I got in touch with Danny and offered to send it back to him. It took longer than I’d hoped but it’s back where it belongs. Like a true OG, he sent back this signed pic for my office. Danny, you’re a legend so you’ll stay next to E.T. Thank you for this.
