A few years ago, I remixed an incredible song called “Armour” by the man standing next to me. His name is Ronan, but you may know him as @vnvnationofficial. I had no idea that sending an email to him on a rainy April afternoon would not only result in such an overwhelmingly positive response to my remix, but also a friendship. We’ve kept in touch ever since that day, talking about music, travel, experiences that have shaped us…really just connecting on a human to human level. The inspiration to finish the Armour remix came from the most difficult time in my life. Creating it helped me heal and process my grief, to show up for myself, to keep moving forward. Serenity Found Through Patience This picture was inspired by listening to one my favourite Altin Gün song 'Anlatamam Derdimi'. Originally written and sung by the blind bard Aşık Veysel, I felt that it contained great advice and truth about life. Life is a great mystery that we are in. Even before we realise what we are in, we feel an everlasting movement that drives us to constantly evolve and grow. Nothing remains the same, there is not a single static object in the universe. In all this movement and confusion, where is everything trying to go? I Furthermore, as beings who have attained awareness, we have the ability to choose where we want to head. Life is full of so many different colours that we can see. Pleasant and beautiful, terrible and bad things. Does man have a compass to guide him through the chaos of life? We can do whatever we want. But not everything has the same kind of effect on us. We are part of this movement. We are always changing and evolving. And one day death will come to us as well. It takes everything we have gathered. Only our traces are left in the world. Death takes even those in time. It's painful to see death around you while you're alive. And it makes you think a lot about the meaning of your actions. Things can be painful for those who see death. Because everything you love will fall apart in its hands. Only then does your consciousness begin to feel like a prison of suffering. If there is so much pain, why do I feel it, why am I able to see it? Loveless life is tasteless. But a life with love is threatened by death. Even if we get away from our feelings, we cannot ignore death... This is the confusion of being human. But in the midst of this confusion we can sometimes sense where all this seemingly meaningless diversity is actually heading. A divine power that silences those who try to explain and drives mad those who try to understand. 5 years ago, I was facing an existential crisis so deep that I couldn't see the point of continuing anything that I was supposed to. Funnily, I withheld the decision to drop out of university because I still wanted to go on student exchange the following semester. Off I went overseas and experienced spring for the first time in my life. When I got the chance to see these blue flowers at a seaside park in Japan, it changed my life... I was moved, by sheer beauty. Beauty became a reason for hope. I knew it was a feeling I want to feel again and a place I wanted to visit again. So I should at least keep going. 5 years later, I am here again! This time, with a boy who is really important to me 👼🏻 "If there is a heaven, it looks like this" 🩵 I heard this year's blossom is the best in many years so lucky us!
