Sempre que posso, estou maratonando os filmes e nesse ano, li os 4 livros principais. O livro Amanhecer é maravilhoso, se tornou o meu segundo preferido, para mim, só perde para o primeiro. Porém, deixou a desejar em alguns trechos! Eu devorei as primeiras 400 páginas, mas quando chegou no último livro da Bella — na parte das testemunhas — não sei se pelo excesso de detalhes, falta de diálogo ou a ausência da Alice, a leitura ficou extremamente lenta! Tive dificuldade de ler as últimas 100 páginas, quase abandonei a história, mas já tinha lido mais de 80%, não faria sentido. Fora isso, valeu a pena. Amei os capítulos na perspectiva do Jacob e todo o resto! Devo acrescentar que esperava ser trollada no livro também (Quem viu o filme, sabe do que eu tô falando), mas apesar desses pequenos detalhes, recomendo a leitura! . . . 🌈 How do you organize your bookshelves? 📖 Currently, I organize roughly by colour for my contemporary romance collection, then have 1 to 3 display shelves in the middle bookcase, and otherwise by series or genre/type (ie. mystery, graphic novels). I keep a lot of keepsakes on my shelves as well, as well as part of my extensive Twilight collection! This being said, I’m moving soon, so will need to buy new furniture, including new bookshelves! I’m really excited to redesign my shelves. These cases have been with me since 2021, I believe, but they’ll be staying at my parents’ house. I’m not sure if I’ll go with Ikea’s Billy ones again either. Once I have moved and have acquired new shelves, I’ll be sure to ask on my story how you guys think I should organize my books! I’m so excited. Midnight Sun by Stephenie Meyer 📚 Here we go again... I'm not going to repeat my whole thing about pushing aside the red flags for the purpose of this review, please refer to my last Twilight review post, and then come back to appreciate the rest of this review haha! 📖 So, Midnight Sun. Twilight from Edward's perspective. An interesting concept, honestly, for people who love Edward and are desperate to see what he was thinking during the events of Twilight, and for people who hate Edward and will love to watch Stephenie Meyer do her best to explain away his behaviour as we get to know him and his intentions better. As you know, I'm not here to discuss the good and the terrible, I'm here to talk about fun! Which means we reach the question... was Midnight Sun fun? 📖 The answer is difficult. What I love about Twilight is the vibes and the nostalgia. The fun of poking fun at it, whilst still genuinely enjoying aspects such as the side characters. Midnight Sun didn't hold the vibes for me, or the nostalgia. Poking fun at it was very doable, and getting more information about my favourites (such as Carlisle, Jasper, Esme, Rosalie, Emmett) was great! The contrasts between Bella's thoughts and Edward's are actually quite hilarious when looked at side by side (I'm sure a lot of you have seen the reels of someone doing just that). But this book suffered from the potent mix of Stephenie Meyer's writing style and the fact that this book is insanely long. Edward's thoughts were, like the book, overly-long, as well as quite boring and repetitive sometimes. I think I had a fairly big break from it towards the middle of the book because it felt rather dense to get through. The scenes we hadn't seen before because Bella wasn't in them though, I loved those! So, did I have fun? Yes. Do I think this book was needed? No, but I am still genuinely glad I read it because The Twilight Saga will always hold a special place in my heart. I think some further editing would've made this book more enjoyable. But I still had a good time overall, and that's all I can ask for! 📚

While Bella is sure of her way, she’s forced to consider alternatives by Jacob—who’s forcing it down her throat. If that wasn’t enough, an army is coming. After seeing the movie so many times, it was interesting to see the written version of the Edward/Jacob dilemma. ¿Team Edward o Team Jacob? [Respuesta al final]. Ahora sí puedo opinar al respecto, pero recuerden que es solo una opinión personal. Como lectora le pongo ⭐⭐⭐ de 5. Es un libro bastante gordito (905 páginas), que la verdad no superaró mis espectativas. Peeero, esto podría deberse a que los primeros 4 libros (bajo la perspectiva de Bella Swan, la protagonista de la historia) los leí cuando yo tenía 20/ 21 años de edad, y pues pensaba diferente sobre la idea del amor. Edward tiene una forma de pensar que desespera en algún punto de la historia, sobretodo al ser tan repetitivo con el tema de: no quiero que seas como yo, soy un monstruo, aléjate de mí, te quiero tal y como eres (siendo mortal), etc. Algunos capítulos se hacen demasiado largos y las partes donde debería haber acción (en el buen sentido de la palabra) son muy flojas, aburren en lugar de emocionar. Lo bueno del libro lo puse en el post sin spoiler y lo reitero por aquí: la información extra sobre varios personajes es maravillosa. Me encantó saber más de ellos. El epílogo también me encantó. Todo al final está como que armado para no dejar cabos sueltos en lo que es Crepúsculo, no los siguientes libros. («Sol de medianoche» no engloba los otros libros, solo Twilight (crepúsculo). No se vayan con la finta). Como escritora novel de romance le doy ⭐⭐⭐ de 5. Lamentablemente tiene varios errores de edición (eso ya fue culpa del editor). Es redundante (se repite una misma idea una y otra vez). No está libre de relleno y tiene descripciones excesivas que (hasta donde he aprendido de autores publicados por editoriales), no aportan nada a la trama. Con este punto me refiero al automovilismo y al base ball. Sí tiene buenos ejemplos de: muestra no cuentes. Buenas descripciones en cuanto a lugares y personajes sin caer en el exceso. Las preguntas que te hace plantearte al principio, tienen respuesta conforme va finalizando. Eso es muy bueno al momento de escribir una novela. Su manejo en cuanto a la telepatía del protagonista es muy clara, incluso al mezclarse con diálogos. En general es un libro que tiene un estilo de escritura fácil de entender, pero es muy extenso.
